I discovered it is almost a mirror image of the Blake's Hitch, an arborist's knot.https://www.animatedknots.com/blakes-hitch-knot
The tautline hitch has been around for a long time and really serves its purpose. The knot I present here is my go-to solution for adjusting guy lines, tying down tarpaulins and gear. It has never failed me.
It is not an original with me. I don't remember where I first saw this knot.
The tautline hitch is tied in a different manner. Both knots serve a similar function.

I used almost 2' of cord (3/16" cotton shoelace) to tie the doubled knot in the step by step. Use extra for loop and fudge factor.

It took a while but I understand. Your bracelet operates in the same manneras my E-Z Carabiner but looks a lot nicer. Tonyhttps://www.instructables.com/E-Z-Soft-Carabiner/
You did not miss a stepTwo lines come into the button from the loop. Two lines emerge from the button on the opposite side. These two lines are trimmed off so it resembles the first photoFor a completely different way to make a carabiner seehttps://www.instructables.com/E-Z-Soft-Carabiner/
Thank you. I used about 3" (one meter) of cotton cord for this project. There were about 8" left over to be cut off.You can make the trilobite as long or short as you want. You do not have to stick with the size that I made.

I re-read your messageABOK 599 is a button knot, not a loop knot. ABOK 787 starts out the same as 599 but has a loopYour description sounds likehttps://www.instructables.com/Lanyard-Adjuster-II/You might also want to tryhttps://www.instructables.com/Trick-Double-Overhand-Stopper-Knot/
Thanks for the feedback. The diamond knot makes a fixed loop. Why do you need a stopper knot as well?
