Hello. I have thought about your questions:1. The problem with animation is the necessity of knowing where the shutter is at all times. With this camera, that is not easily known. It is a rotating shutter built to also advance the film after exposure. Frame by frame, it may be possible if you cap the lens every time but you would be better served using a 35mm still image camera and compositing the frames together digitally. 2. The primary reason I used 35mm is it is large and easy to work with. The holes for gripping the film and advancing it mechanically are quite large. 16mm is much finer and less forgiving mechanically, in my opinion, for homemade camera purposes.Happy making!

Hello,Step 1 has multiple photos of the linear actuator mechanism that moves the lamp. It is normally where you would find a spring on the lamp. The linear actuator mechanism is 3D printed and white. It is the white gear attached to the servo that is in contact with the white teeth. I'm not sure how much clearer the mechanism can be viewed. It is in plain sight in the photos. Please let me know if you recognize it now. Thanks!
