You pretty much nailed it with this reflection. Questioning is the first step to wisdom and by extension maybe a better life. Raising questions about food, lifestyle, clothes, mobility, religion etc. the list goes on. Accepting the possibility that we may have had it wrong all the time and having the will to change, it's a complex process but all can change with one encounter in life. Being aware of our impact to others, it's a start..
View Instructable »Thank you for your kind words. We just wanted to make this very strange period count. A lot of people died, a lot of people lost loved ones & suffered. We had to extract something positive out of this, we owed it to these victims...

Glad you're still there ;) Different environments, same spirits. At least me made these days count.
View Instructable »There's been an amazing synergy this spring between people all over the world who found inspiration in this period, far away from the misery and pain. You did good, great attitude.

Thanx for this awesome comment, it cheers me up that even after all those years some projects continue to inspire!! It was a fun build indeed and probably my first that involved such an amount of welding. Still got the device btw, tho I think that nokia has got it's time ;)

Thank you old friend, I'm glad you're still here and you didn't lose your vibe either! No need to bolt that lady down, gravity works quite vertical here - and my ego isn't large enough to such it sideward either ;)

Thanx for your support!! ;)
View Instructable »Thanx to put me on track about these colors, I'll print that out & post-it on the forge. Not easy tho with all these forging color codes. There's blue & cherry & white & straw & black, very confusing all this tho!! lol Seen my anvil 2.0? Better like that? ;)

Thanx for your support, and I agree completely with your philosophy. Plans are good when you're building a fusion reactor or a deep space telescope, but in general one decent idea is worth the whole instructable. Btw, I learned the idea of flattening astump on this site indeed, but it was mikesaurus (on a real stump) who got me into it. Still remember that one. Gonna look yours up tho, let me know about your next one.
Some processes just need time, a gradual sedimentation of picked-up ideas, thoughts, material and the rage to start with it. This whole thing has been sissling in my head since many many years, and all of a sudden you just need one spark to set the barn on fire. I hope this was the spark you needed, enjoy the road!!
As a woodworker I'm glad so much people comment on the stump in this metal project, glad you like it ;) And don't hesitate to let me know how yours turned out when you make one, cheers!!
View Instructable »Glad you liked it. These water heaters are a lot more solid than your fridge, so go with that. You don't need that welder btw. Try to get some parts overlapped and bolt or rivet them together. When you line the whole up with cement or clay it'll do the job. Good luck.

Thank for your support sam. The best metal projects are those with some wood accents - 80kilo accents, in this case ;)

One of the reasons I'm still in the Instructables vibe is that it's the place where I can chat with you brother. Happy you're still there, you're like the good guy in the lighthouse who sees everything and who's constructive advice guids the ships through dangerous waters. Hope you're doing well!! You know what? You're the second person who warned me for that weak spot in the structure, and since I didn't want bad things to happen I already welded some extra support to the disc this afternoon. You're on the spot as always. Thanx for the support during all those years.

Awesome project, might be making this one of these! Just one question, how's it holding up? Those tiny legs seem a bit fragile for an average 80 kilos person, no?
- bartworker commented on bartworker's instructable Kuksa Carving (for Lazy Carvers)View Instructable »
You can make kuksas from any type of wood. I made them from olive, cherry & birch. Here's my latest from willow. All from burls, respectful harvest.

Of course, of course I did!! But to my poor defence, when I think about Manhattan the sound that comes in my head is the voice of Jennifer Warnes. So credits to the master, here's to Cohen! ;)
