Thanks for the reply.But the solder I used is a tin and silver one, suitable for drinking-water. Actually, after your comment, I searched online for some lead solder, and I'm not quite sure you can still easily get it where I live. Everything I found was based on silver and/or tin.Cleaning your still is indeed very important, hence I mentioned that first in the chapter 'starting your first run'. Since the endcap isn't soldered in place, it's easy to clean the column and the cooler. Where I live we don't have the ATF to worry about, but it's still not considered legal to produce your own spirits. However if you don't sell them and only drink it yourself or share it with friends, the goverment is perfectly fine with it.
