I'm happy you liked my design so much you even built it. Nice soldering job as well! I also had trouble with programming through the rx/tx, but in the end it really doesn't make any difference. How many did you make?
Very nice! Thanks for mentioning me, I'm happy that my tree could inspire you for this project. I like how you made it much cheaper, but still keeping the overall look and feel. It was also a really nice idea to make it into a soldering practice for the new club members. Well done!
Nice variation on the Christmas tree theme, with a LOTS of LEDs. Voted!

To generate the gerber files yourself I recommend downloading the CAM file from the dirtyPCB website: http://dirtypcbs.com/about.php (Exporting Gerbers from Cadsoft Eagle)You can read the detailed instructions here: http://dangerousprototypes.com/docs/Get_your_PCBs_...If you anyways do some modifications I recommend moving the LEDs a bit closer to the edge (like by 0.5 mm), so they will be better visible from the other side of the board as well. I wasn't sure about the manufacturing precision, that's why I had more space to the edge, but it all turned out perfectly.
I'm glad you like it. You should upload the pcb_xmas_tree_gerbers.zip file. For the order you'll need to set the following options: size: max 10x10cm, thickness: 1.6mm, and color: green of course. See the attached screenshot. After you add it to the cart (might require registering), it should generate a preview, so you can double check if everything is correct before placing the order. Let me know how it turned out!
