Made it! I did the joints a bit different (I used half lap joints) but other than that your instructions were great. Thanks for sharing.
Wow! That's beautiful. Nice work.

Walnut and Copper Cutting Board / Serving Board!
Thanks. Sharing is half the fun of making stuff like this :)
Thanks. The first few boxes I made were pretty ugly. I'm glad you liked the project.
Thanks. I'm glad you liked the project. But, I don't really have any skills. I'm just making this up as I go along.
Thank you. I'm glad you liked it. Other people's projects inspire me, so I'm glad I'm able to "pay it forward" so to speak.
I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for the vote.
Thank you. I'm glad you liked it.
Yeah, that's definitely the weakest part of the whole box. But no, I didn't use a special glue. I couldn't think of a simple way to make that stronger, so I decided to just glue it on and see how well it holds. I think it will be fine . . . unless my kids start playing with it :)
Thanks for the kind words and the vote. You made my day :)
The ribbon inlay actually wasn't too bad. Waiting for the glue to dry was the longest part of this build. When I was making it, I kind of felt like I was making a fancy cutting board. The process is pretty similar to making a patterned cutting board, only for this project you actually cut up the cutting board :)

That's awesome. I haven't been able to do anything this cool on my CNC machine yet. Thanks for sharing.
That's where this one went. The kids had a good time measuring the sensitivity of the PIR sensor . . . you know, "measuring" the way kids do - playing Ninja to see when the sensor would catch them.
Yep, these PIR sensors have an adjustable timeout - 5 seconds to 5 minutes. I set mine at 5 minutes.
That's a beautiful frame. Nice work.

I'm a Ravenclaw, but Slytherin fits this project better. I have ideas for all the houses, it's just going to take some time to build all of them.
Yeah, they randomly show up in my life. I have 3 outside my office right now.
Wow! That's a beautiful design.
Nice build JackmanWorks. I found a walnut pallent once and felt like a hit a gold mine.

Thanks. I had a fairy garden in mind when I was sketching the fireplace design. It's a bit too big for you average fairy, but it about the right size for a garden gnome :)

Thanks. The push sticks were fun to make.
I can see how that step was a bit unclear. When I get home I'll take a couple pictures to help illustrate.Yes, I cut completely through the acrylic for the LED strip. I didn't attach the LEDs to the wood. The acrylic was about the same width as the LEDs, so after I cut the slot, I put the LEDs inside the slot.
I added the extra photos to the last step. I hope they clarify the instructions.
