Good idea, just a couple of things for future reference... You should have mounted it higher so the hose doesn't touch the ground, looks neater that way. Secondly you have drilled into the brick which would be hollow and so a rawl plug, anchor bolt is less effective. You should drill into the mortar joint as that way the fixing will be stronger. It also mean if you wanted to get rid of the holes later on your could just fill with a little cement and not be left with a hole in the brick.

You could also use a needle and thread and just sew the metal part to the blind using the hole in the weight. I never understood why they come supplied as they do and fall out. They really need to slot into a pocket

Love my jerky... I will try your recipe, here is one for homemade teriyaki sauce, i halve the sugar as I don't like it too sweet... http://www.tasteandtellblog.com/teriyaki-chicken/ Also I personally find it easier to leave the fat on, slice the meat into steaks and then trim the fat off.. Then finally slice it into thin pieces.. The fat actually tastes so good once dehydrated but can spoil the meat quickly so I keep mine in the freezer.

How do you get the heatshrink over the wires that have already been soldered? I think you missed a step, you need to put the heatshrink onto the wires before you solder them.
Awesome build!! Most apprentice electricians learn to bend conduit and it is not as easy as it looks so well done. When bending conduit instead of wearing mittens you can wet a rag and use that, what it does is cools the PVC pipe as you are running your hands along it. You can also reshape the PVC pipe with the wet rag as it cools down... Really impressed :-)
