How do you keep water from rain or sprinklers from getting inside the cooler?

The possibilities are endless. My first thought was storage for garden tools, fish food for my Koi pond, chemicals for the hot tub, and walkway lighting. If I had the time, I would look at light stanchions that rise up when the lights are turned on. during the day, they are gone but at night they rise up when the switch is flipped. Your idea and techniques are just the start.
