Thanks. Glad to see people are still finding this project. Made some recent upgrades. Added fully articulated hands last year from https://garyfaycreations.com/ which are awesome. You can see those in the video and 3D printed a new, more realistic skull this year with flickering led's behind the eye sockets which creates a very nice effect.

Here's some additional tips I gave someone else recently.Some joints don't work so well. You do have to play with them a bit but i also found that one side of the joint has a wider hole which caused the jerkiness in the hinge. You can use the worbla to solve that problem but applying a little worbla around the hinge area to, sort of act as a guide for the hinge to follow. Rounding it off and letting other joint rotate around it. Worbla is very slick so it worked for me. If you look carefully at some of the pictures where i'm feeding the string, you'll see the worbla wrapping the hinges creating a rounded surface for the other joint to follow. I also used pieces of wax paper between the Warbla in places that I didn't want it to stick together. Once it cools, the wax paper easily falls awa…

I had a problem where the added weight of the worbla was too heavy for the springs in the hinges. Tried all sorts of ideas including doubling up on the springs but that had only slightly better results.I had some elastic or bungee shoe laces lying around that became the solution. Running a piece of that bungee down the length of the finger on top of the hinge and securing it in place with worbla offered a perfect amount of tension to pull the fingers back to a full open position.I have to heavily modify my first hand to add the bungee after the fact but i'll incorporate it from the start on the second hand which will be much easier.

Hi, I went with a large sheet of Worbla since I can think of hundreds of ways to use that stuff but it is expensive. I'd recommend getting a medium sheet. (29.5" by 19.5"). This is a labor intensive project so be patient. It will take a long time to build these but I'm sure you'll be thrilled with the response you get with them. Good Luck.
