Good catch- I did run it to the adjacent wall on one side, but I have another bay to my garage on the other side with other hardware/equipment that would have had to move to go all the way to the other wall. You're totally right that having it solidly attached to two walls would vastly improve the stability!

Great advice! Thanks for the improvement to the design! Where I live the humidity stays very low all year round so I likely won't get too much movement- but I didn't account for other locales where this would certainly be the case!

Great Question!Beekeeping is very rewarding and much lower maintenance that it can seem from the videos. I have heard that you can still centrifuge top bar comb with the right setup- I haven't tried it yet. Had my bees survived, I probably would have looked further into that and may next year when I have another hive. I wanted to get all of the wax and honey and pollen out of this hive asap so that pests wouldn't infest the hive (wax moths, ants, etc.) so the smooshing was the way to go for me. I would have to guess that it is very comparable to centrifugal extraction as I had a ball of wax at the end with little-to-no honey in it. However- you're totally right that if you want to save your bees a lot of work drawing comb, slicing/melting the caps and spinning is a great way to be kind ...
