That's one helluva project but it looks like it turned out fantastically. I did a LOT of campling in my younger days and that tent looks ideal for many/most applications. I particularly like the "tub design" on the floor while keeping a very airy, open atmosphere inside. And the write-up was done very, very well... super clear and the videos are great. Clearly a lot of work went into this effort, both in designing and building the tent AND the creation of the outstanding I'ble. Kudos to all involved!

Great design, implementation, and write up. Well done. :-)Lol... its a design that is so old that it is new again! You make a reference to K'Nex but the design goes back further than that to a fantastic toy that I greatly enjoyed as a kid waaaay back that was called Tinker Toys. All wood construction set with long wooden dowels of various lengths (and colors) and connectors which were basically just wooden disks with maybe 10 holes drilled around the perimeter and another on each of the two faces. Several other connectors too but those were the ones I remember best.

I'm not trying to be a pill here, truly, but some clarification is in order. Is the result actually "etching" (removal of some of the material) or does it rather lay down a new layer of "paint"? If the former, is the black is deposited into the etching well? If the latter, how well does the "paint" hold up over time, especially in the dishwasher, etc? Thnx in advance, very cool project. :-)

Very awesome, boss man! I intend to make one of these right away. Plz keep sharing your other great ideas. :-)

I was thinking exactly the same thing... a few more safety precautions with potential (likely?) "explosive disassembly" in mind is certainly in order. But it IS a fantastic project!
View Instructable »I agree with everyone else: this project is fantastic! A true "tour de force"! As a fellow engineer/physicist and maker/tinerer, I tip my hat to you with greatest respect. I've been wanting to make a jet for a loooong time but it just never seemed to be quite practical for someone like me--- THIS project has changed my mind. Again, kudos for an amazing success and, moreso, for its simplicity and "do-ability".Like everyone else, I too am interested in the thrust generated. Thoughts?

This looks awesome! And very well documented/explained. The only thing that would have made this I'ble perfect would have been video of a launch... is it in there and I just missed it?

Really nice write-up, perfect level of detail with great pictures, all well labeled. I truly wish I could do this (ie, clean a fish) but there is something wrong with me, I have a deep aversion to dead things (although I am a good, card-carrying carnivore... yes, I know this is very hypocritical of me, I wish it were otherwise). Someday maybe I'll work up the scrotum to do this. Oh, the shame...

Yikes, Ryo, I thought I was going see see you saw your thumb off in that one video! The way you were going to town on that board and the placement of your left hand made me *very* nervous.Aside from that, it's a very cool Instructable, thnx for sharing. :-)

This is kind of a side issue but I can't seem to make the first picture under Step 4 to parse correctly... what exactly am I seeing? Clearly the wire is being stripped but I've never seen a tool like that being used... it appears to be some sort of pliers with over-lapping rabbit teeth/prongs to remove the sheathing, with a hole in the lower jaw thru which a threaded part is protruded for some reason. The write up is clear enough as to what needs to occur during the step, I just can't get the picture to make any sense. Thoughts?

Why such a hater, hygicell? Plz provide the URL for your own instructible clearly presenting your superior knot knowledge... til then, hold your tongue (or at least learn to communicate dissenting opinions in a civil manner). I, for one, enjoyed Mrballeng's presentation and thank him for it. Lighten up.
I am both very impressed and envious... very, very well done! And a great write-up to boot! As an amateur astronomer, I'd love to make one of these but not sure I have the experience/skill to do so since I haven't made rings before (lol, I've created a lot of electionic monstrosities but nothing so "mechanically" made with a lathe, etc). Keep up the good work and sharing results. :-)
