While very time consuming, that’s something fantastic to have made! Clever idea! You have me thinking about an idea for my home state of WA and I could use a skill saw to do it. Love the finished product. Bravo!
Nice accent to the kitchen. I’m a fan of the stain choice! It’s not too overpowering, but makes it stand out just enough.
I turned two logs into end tables, so I sympathize with all the sanding required to get a level surface! Nicely done!
There are connect points for a shelf, but it’s an option you have to purchase. This was far cheaper than buying a manufacturer or OEM item.
A shelf from the manufacturer is an option, but didn’t come standard, unfortunately.
It is a CRV. Unfortunately ours did not include a shelf.
I considered a piano hinge, and even bought one with the intent of doing what you described. Changed my mind part through the build since it will be easier for us to have the option of only one or both shelves.
I considered glueing it when my original thought was to carpet both side and hinge the two pieces. Once I chose to not do the hinge, glueing became unnecessary. The staples hold it tight enough you don’t know the difference on top.

Spar varnish would be great for this! I have a 30 year old bench made by my dad, which had spar varnish applied. Just gave it a light sanding and reapplied two coats and will easily get another 30 years out of it.
Impressive work! What a great gift for your daughter!
It does this when I use the Pinterest button at the top, after clicking the share icon and selecting Pinterest. It doesn’t do this for every item I try to share. I even tried ones with a primary picture in landscape and portrait to see if that was the issue... it wasn’t. Tried my and other’s items, and it does it for both, but not all items. The only pattern I have found is it does this for the same items, but I can’t determine what is in common for those items.
Thanks! Yes, I already have a list of toy ideas!
Looks great! So many memories of playing with my Tonka truck!

I’m with you on the look of the 4x4! What total length is needed for one chair? I followed your link, but it only says “5” in the material list.

A magnetic board.
Good to know. Thank you. Sounds like zinc plated has the same benefit. Is that correct?
Looks delicious! We lived in Washington state and I loved picking blackberries for jam and desserts.

This Instructable was great to give me ideas for my ruler. I couldn't decide if I wanted to make all the lines the same length, or stagger them like a real ruler. This Instructable made it clear that the staggered lines are the way to go! I applied a single coat of golden oak stain, taped out my lines, painted with acrylic paint, then used black house numbers for each foot mark.
Thanks! I can tell the finger prints my dad left were not intentional, but finding them was such a joy. Nice to leave such memories for our kids.

Love the contrasting wood colors! Sophisticated looking!
Amazing attention to detail. Ever consider using a translucent material, in place of the brass, so the stars can be lit up?

I like the fact it’s portable, so I can move it around the yard if needed. Nicely done!
I definitely don’t want to alter the item itself. Thought of building a coffee table around it, with a glass top so you could see it sitting below. But unfortunately, I have nowhere to put another table.
What a great upcycle project! Never knew there were so many layers inside a skateboard!
Here you go! Great project! Love the unique look. https://entropyresins.com/
Nice looking! Have had the same issue of the grain looking different after using varnish. Give polycrylic (satin finish, not gloss) a try next time. I find it keeps the grain's contrast and is easy to clean up with water.
Clever! Now add a remote with steering controls. lol

Sorry for the late reply! Didn't see this before. The pipe pieces were about $120, paint approx. $12, stain approx. $12, and polyurethane $8. The workbench top was $200. You can go pretty cheap on the desk surface if you don't want something that looks like butcher block.
Looks great! Fun project from a fantastic show!

I like the look of having the bolt heads show on the top. Something to consider is pre-painting the joining brackets and staining the wood before you join the pieces. Requires a little more caution in the rest of the built, but adds to the finished look.
Nice to see someone enclose their hardware and not have a mess of hardware and components.
Wooden Jet Plane
Fun light for a garage or man cave. Don't have any welding skills, but always wanted to make a chain lamp with the chains curving in a double helix. Perhaps you can show us how it would be done. ;-)
Cool looking! Can you apply this to large surface areas, like a desk or counter top? Would be cool to see it on a finished cutting board or coffee table.
Clever! Saw a similar concept in the critical care section of a hospital, where a series of red lights got brighter if staff were talking too loud in the hall.
Looks fantastic! Quite jealous!

Found a picture. PVC, with 3/16" piece of acrylic for the tray, sealed around the inside with 100% silicone in case she spilled. Debating different materials for when it's time to make a new one. If you have ideas, they are welcomed!
Nice way to use technology to help him do things other little boys get to do! Built a tray that fits on to my niece's wheelchair, but didn't think about making it scalable so it's still functional as they adjust the chair for her growth. Have you thought of using spandex on the handles, that are adjustable via velcro, so he can put them on himself, they are snug enough to be useful, but will grow with him?
