Tell us about yourself!
I thought this was the product of an expert tattoo artist and i was like... Yes well if you are an expert at tattoos, then this will be easy. Then i read that you did not know about shading multi-needles. So you are a definite noob :-D Although, no denying, phenomenal art skills sir :-D
I love this so much. I made a chess table about 10 years ago and we always use some wooden pieces that i picked up on ebay but i always wanted to make my own but thought that i could never do a good enough job to make pieces that were any good. I could totally do this style and they are really beautiful and original!!
Really great job. I like the way you went to the extra effort of making the legs.I did one of these last year and only made the top, for the legs i just built two square white block legs and filled them with concrete. I used white cement and white sand for the top, then threw in a whole load of broken glass on the mold before pouring in the cement. You can hand finish the bench with wet and dry sandpaper once the cement is over a week old. While you dont have broken glass in yours to give a coloured finish. i am sure you could get a beautiful shiny polished finish by using wet and dry sandaper to polish the cement. You might also want to go around the edges with an electric sander fitted with oxide paper to round off the edges. Please make sure you use a mask. :-)
To do experiments in physics, we tried to get carbon to bond with a human hair, to burn in a vacuum, the same way that the original light bulb experiments were done. However after lots of trying, we found the easiest way was to use refills from mechanical pencils! :-D
