Tell us about yourself!
I think I edited the post to clarify. The entire pattern with 3x2 grid of layers was enlarged until it took entire 12"x24" plywood board.
I made a larger version today, and posted an image of it in the "I Made It" section.
This is my 2nd version of this project. I used a 12"x24" sheet of 1/8" craft plywood. The pattern was enlarged so the vertical height was 11", and the horizontal width was almost the entire board. While the 2nd layer was extremely thin, the cross beams were still strong enough not to break (which happened on my first version). The laser setting was a bit high, thus the slight scorching. Otherwise, I think it looks fantastic. My next Mandala will be an original design, based on the instructions HarleenD1 provided.
On Friday, I was able to laser cut using your revised pattern. Due to the size of the wood, and wanting reduced time, I shrunk the pattern to the size shown. That was too small, since the 2nd layer's paths were paper-thin, and snapped out. Still, it is a beautiful effect. I will try one twice the size next week. After that, using your techniques, I will try to create an original pattern, perhaps one based on 5 sided shape.
