Any idea how to fix a printer that keeps getting paper jams?
- mrsmerwin commented on mrsmerwin's instructable Hand-sewn Scrap QuiltView Instructable »
I would probably sew a strip of the boarder fabric on the front and back of one side. Cut a piece of batting to fit. Baste the edge of the batting to the edge of the quilt. Then flip the front and back pieces into place and quilt the border. Do this for each of the 4 sides.

I have also used the pages of an old atlas. It looks pretty if you alternate squares of water with squares cut from land.I am glad it worked with the plastic currency. I did not realize that it might be a problem.

I use the same amount of splenda as I would have used sugar.

We have a lot of diabetes in the family. I have made many cheesecakes with splenda instead of sugar. That also makes the end result very creamy.

I love the texture of the stitch you used. I have knit many blankets over the years. I think this stitch is one of the best for making a blanket that will stand up to a lot of use and still look nice.

The one I am working on next is more durable. To fix, gently slide two of the pieces apart. Count to see if you need more or less pieces--each hole should have 5 sides. You may have to take a few more pieces out in order to finish adjusting.

It goes pretty quickly. You are sewing the exact same amount and cutting the same amount. You are just changing the order. I have a tool that is a half inch wide. You line it up corner to corner on the fabric. Then you draw a pencil line along each edge--these are the sewing lines. After sewing both lines, you cut the two pieces apart and you have 2 squares.

How do you get the kite in step 4?
- mrsmerwin commented on gandalfthesecond's instructable Triangle Patch Work Quilt
It is never too late to learn. I learned years ago--only intended to make one or 2 small ones. Loved it so much that I have ended up making several hundred.
View Instructable »I find that when I cut the squares into triangles and then sew them, that the fabric stretches. I draw a pencil line diagonally across the squares. Then I sew on both sides of the pencil line. When you cut on the pencil line, you end up with 2 squares but the fabric lays flatter (no stretching).
