We used 3 full size rebar zip-tied together with a nail used as horizontal pin to prevent the mast from twisting too much. The sail was ripped in places to allow the wind to pass through without taking the sail down, which happened twice while we were putting it all up. we also had a garden fence post zip-tied to the outside of the mast and painted to blend in. good luck.

I always refrigerate it before forming but here are a couple of things I could think of that might result in a soupy mix. I use raw unfiltered honey which is solid at room temp, if you used filtered honey it may effect the consistency. If the coconut milk was not chilled long enough and did not fully separate it would also result in having too much liquid. I am allergic to corn so I always use tapioca starch, I have been told by friends who also use this recipe that it can be substituted with not problems but I do not have personal experience using corn starch so there may be a measurement issue. these are the only things I can think of other than perhaps there its something in the cranberry juice that is effecting it, I always do this recipe with fresh seasonal fruit puree and don't k…

I am not sure about the other two methods stated but I have been using virgin coconut oil to finish wood jewelry for years and it has worked well for me. My one concern with a more natural finish is that if these rings are being worn on hands, whatever gets on your hands; soap, chemicals, hand sanitizers, might react with or wear off the oils used as finish. my wood jewelry is usually in the form of necklaces and earrings, so I don't have any experience with that. They are beautiful pieces and well set for the beginner woodworker.

Very nice project. Just an FYI if using different colors for your pumpkin, https://www.foodallergy.org/teal-pumpkin-project#.V-6gvzKZORs. The teal colored pumpkins mean you have non-food items for trick or treaters. We get several kids with allergies at our house, so we have a teal pumpkin outside. Just thought you should know.

Very nice instructable. I use 2 knives to open mine, a chef's knife for trimming(easier to control) and a cleaver for cracking the shell.Young coconut meat is much softer than its mature counterpart and is quite a bit easier to get out without scraping. I highly recommend trying milk made from a young coconut, it is creamier and more flavorful than from a mature coconut and I use it in my smoothies every morning. It also makes a fabulous coffee creamer without all the junk commercial versions add.

Thank you. I didn't start off artistic, I just hate throwing things out so I need to find ways to use them. The first thing I cut on the scroll saw came out awful and I managed to cut my thumb. A few stitches and some practice and now I can make most things, but I still have the scar on my thumb.

I am not sure there is much I can recommend, ours was just door hinges attached to the 2x4s. I think the fence slats on your pieces might be longer than ours were. we were able to open it flat with the hingers attached or fold it together. We added a piece in the front to hide the gap that was present.
