My dad made me a set of sawhorses very similar to these that I've nearly worn out. I've been wanting to copy his pattern and make a new set. Now I have an excuse and can "multipurpose" them for Christmas. Thanks for the great idea!

As a person of Norwegian ancestry, I'd love to make something like this for my son. He is big into Vikings and I love working with wood. I just received a scroll saw for Christmas last year. Can you tell me where I might find a Viking pattern like this? This old(er) lady would like to give it a try!
What a very thoughtful gift you have made for your daughter! Very nicely done!Might I suggest demonstrating to her its value by not letting it be in a situation where it might be damaged? Perhaps you get it out for special daddy/daughter occasions and play it together. She will treasure those special times for many years, and hopefully this beautiful uke and all the love that is invested in it will also last for many years.I have four wonderful children, but I remember when they were four. They can be rather rough on "toys", but if the value of this is demonstrated, she will hopefully treat it with high value, as if you were teaching her to be gentle with a small kitten.Congratulations on a brilliant instructable!
