good idea with the contour bag and the wheat.... For a trumpet, I got a piece of that green pvc pipe (I think they use it for sewers), it has an 8" inner diameter. I should be able to dip the trumpet right in there. I would LOVE to find a way to HEAT the solution while in the pipe... I'm going to have to think a little more on that one...
Thumber_7433 --- LOVE the color on your Sax! Did you just dip it logger to get the black and less for the purple / blue sections?
I LOVE this project. I'm gathering the components to do it with an old trumpet.Question - I'm thinking about having a few areas of the trumpet remain BRASS colored. After stripping off all the lacquer, I'm assuming I would need to waterproof cover the areas I want to remain Brass colored (like the engraving). Do you have any suggestions as to what I might cover that section with? I considered just spray lacquering that area prior to submerging it in the chemical bath, but I believe the heat from the chemical bath would just strip the lacquer right off.
