OK. What is the final word on building this for 1:1 copy carving?
Very cool project! Would this be able to work with the Pi Zero? Smaller size and better battery life is what I'm thinking. Also wondering about using the 3G FONA? (I need UMTS support for my cell provider)
Nothing wrong with a plywood guitar. Most of the, now-very-collectible TEISCO guitars from the 1960s (and early `70s) had plywood bodies. Your laminated neck is also a well-proven concept. Framus used multiple laminates in their necks, as did many other companies. If you use good-quality, low-void plywood (like Balkan Birch ply) then you will have a very solid and stable (if somewhat heavy) guitar. Cool project!
