I made a 1/4 scale model first before cutting into my big wood. It only needs a 3/4" thick scrap about 8" square to do that. The finishing operation goes all the way to the edge.

I added the file to step 4. I finished it with a 1/4" ball nose end mill. You can see the details in the file.

I've added measurements. Very few measurements are critical. This was just made with scraps and hardware I had around the shop.

Most people are starting with an 8" wide piece of material and putting a hem in the bottom so that the mask is about 7.5" high. So you need to take up about 4" in the pleats. I start with a 16 inch wide piece of material, fold it in half, make a seam in the top folded part to put a wire for the nose, put a 1/4" hem in each of the sides to finish the bottom. I also put a couple of pleats in the bottom to make it fit better below the chin when I am finished.

I currently live in Kenya. The idea of this Instructable is just to give you an idea to build upon to make a better one. I could probably put you in touch with someone in the U.S. that could build and ship something like this if you are really interested.
