  • I adjusted the size so it would accommodate the the "firewood rack cover" I bought at lowes on clearance. They are designed with two slits in them so the cover can travel down a firewood rack if it's not full. However I only made the dimensions of the rack 1/8" smaller the the cover so the beefy 2x4's don't permit it to travel down anyways. But it sits on top just great. The photo doesn't look great just because I threw it on top of some jagged logs so it didn't fit as snug as it would if I hadn't rushed loading the thing. So my dimensions are approximately 4' x 16" from the corners of the vertical boards and the verticals boards are 4' tall (from the ground, not the base of the rack).I started with three 2x4x8 pressure treated boards $5 each. However since I was worried about smaller pieces of firewood I added a third board on the base as seen in the photo so I bought another board and have a 4' board leftover. Mathamatically I figure without any scraps this can be done with 4 boards two which may have to be 10'Finally I used scraps and cut 45 degree angles on both ends to use as the braces
