very nice. You may consider staining all sides of the frame to minimize uneven moisture absorption. Also, it would be great to see what hardware you used to hang the frame!
Ok so I just virtually created this in sketchup And I found that this seems to only work if the index block is the same distance from the blade as the kerf size; i.e. .375 width. That seems to say the index block would need to be movable? someone please correct me because that cant be right. Essentially the finger (the distance between the kerf and index block) andf the kerf cut must be the same to fit. But here it appears the index block never moves...
In order to make different widths of cut, what is the optimum distance from the blade for the Index block? I assume the index block is stationary.
I assume the rails float slightly and the unit rests on the base entirely?
How far away to put the index block from the blade? i assume you dont want it to look much thicker or thinner than the other fingers. How to do this when you may be making 3/8 or 1/4 kerfs?
To add to my previous question, how to calculate the height of the piece so the fingers dont look awkward? (that is, at the end it has a nice space, not cutting a half finger)
