I agree, this hack isn't for everyone, but for those who can follow along, it might prove to be a learning experience as it was for me. There is no hurt in trying....the worse is you're out a new radio.

Thanks, I'm glad you appreciate my work. Yes it did take a few days after work to film and disassemble the engine. I will be doing more videos on tearing down this engine to show how it works inside, as well as subtopics for other parts of the car, including the tranny. Suggestions are welcome!

Thanks! You made it to the end of the video haha. I did some research and found that there are services out there that clear the info from the SRS computer. I have previous experience working with EEPROM's so as soon as I opened up that motherboard I knew where to head.

I got this sometimes too. You have to double check all your EEPROM connections to the serial port. Depending on the ECU you might have to program it out of circuit.

I'm not familiar with Mercedes, knowing them they've probably over complicated things for the odometer. You might as well drive with no cluster and see if that racks up the mileage.

8th pin is 5V.

You might need the dealership's scan tools to help you there.

Most likely since its similar to the Camry. Just swap the chips.

Ah you probably don't want to do this on a Benz, a number of things are connected together and it will go haywire if you try to change the mileage.Try disconnecting the speed sensor so you don't increment the miles.

Sounds like you've got an electrical issue.

It might be different. Try obtaining a copy of Tachosoft to decode. Decoding took the longest time and was the most frustrating part of this process, so keep going at it and you'll figure it out.
