the variable containing the numeric value needs to be sampled into the digits, and these variables need to be called to display now and then very often so that the values are displayed. And yeah additional display can be added, the only difference is the number of select lines increases.

It doesn't work in full-fledged condition, rather I suggest you create a header having the map as per your board. That works much efficiently.

If you've followed the step-1 and step-2 correctly, the Arduino is already set ready to identify the Nucleo board. After the Step-2, identify the COM port number assigned by your PC to your Nucleo board. Open the Arduino IDE, head towards "Tools" tab and go to the "port" option and select the assigned COM port and try uploading. I hope this should solve the problem.

It should work, but it might not hold good with some pins. However, I haven't tried this header on STM32L476RG.

Assuming the dimensions of space to be 2X2X2 inches. Since the UNO board is bigger in size, you should make your custom PCB to meet your requirements. Else, using other boards like Nano and Micro should do the job.And to control the score remotely, we should even provide some means of connectivity, be it a Bluetooth or WiFi. My suggestion is to use ESP12 based microcontroller it has WiFi connectivity.
