hi AK, the honest answer is I don't know but I certainly cannot see why. the main thing to check is that the Ada fruit has the at least as many I/O pins available as the Arduino. for the display the main thing is to follow the algorhitm, i.e.listen for rocker switch input or resetfor X = 1..8 set the segments to form the number for the digit X digit set the Anode or cathode on for the X digit to onwait for a variable amount of time < calibrate to actual secondsrepeat
I see so you probably need some kind of shift register that will convert serial to parrellel interface. There is some info here https://www.arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/ShiftOut
