No. The conductive glue and thread help to ensure a good electronic connection between the wire and the fabric. To use anything else would thwart the connection. And I would avoid hot glue near heated projects in general, bc if the project gets too warm for the glue (which it might), it will weaken or even remelt the hot glue.

I noticed in your ible that you didn't use any form of mold-release agent for your dinosaur figurine. Is it advised, or not really necessary? I want to make a mold of some resin pieces, but I know how sticky silicone can be. Removal of silicone would be a major pain if it didn't let go properly.
