Introduction: Paper Box
A simple version of a paper box. This is my first instruction here and i've tried to make it as clearly as possible to understand. In some of the steps it was a little dificult for me to explain exactly how i do (my english is far from perfect...sorry :P ) but i think that the photos show it pretty well. Still should you have any problems understanding something i will be happy to explain it better.
I've notised that there are several versions of paperboxes in this site, but i haven't seen any like mine, so i hope it's usable anyway :) Enjoy!!
Step 1: Step 1 - Materials
You will need:
2 pieces of printer paper
A pair of sissors
A pensil
And a ruler
You might also need some glue
Step 2: Step 2
fold the paper (like shown in the photo.)
Step 3: Step 3
draw a line so the folded flip makes a triangle.
Step 4: Step 4
cut along the line
Step 5: Step 5
now you have a square (you wont need the other piece of paper...unless you wanna make a smaller box after this one)
Step 6: Step 6
Then you fold the square in diagonal and open it again.
Step 7: Step 7
then you fold all the 4 corners on the paper into the center.
Step 8: Step 8
The fold one side of the square into the center (like shown in the photo) and do the same to the other site (so it looks like the second photo.)
Step 9: Step 9
Then open and turn the square 90 degrees and do the same with the other two sites of the square (like step 8). Then you open again (it should look like in the last photo.)
Step 10: Step 10
then cut 4 cuts into the top and the bottom of the paper. Careful not to cut too long or too short but the important thing is that the two flips (top/buttom) can open (see step 11)
Step 11: Step 11
pull out the two flips in the top and the bottom (like in the first photo) and fold in the two sites shaping the sites of the box (photo 2).
Step 12: Step 13
then you fold the flip over the site and down (see photo 1) and then do the same with the other flip and the top of the box is done :D
Step 13: Step 13
Now you can chose to make the other part of the box like the first part (it will be a little difficult to fit the top of the box into the buttom if they are exactly the same size) ooooorrr take you ruler and follow my instrucions on how to make the bottom of the box :) ( so it will fit perfectly)
It's pretty easy: first you follow step 1 to 5 again and then you messure out 5 mm on the top and the right site of the paper (like in the photo) and cut them off. Like that your bottom part of the box will fit perfectly into the top part.
Well...then you just have to follow the instructions from step 6 to12 and the box is done!!
Step 14: Step 14
now you should have the top and buttom of the box ( the buttom will be slightly smaller than the top). If the flips in the buttom of the box wont stay down then you can use a little glue (like photo 2).
Step 15: Step 15
all there is left to do is put your box together.
I have added a few examples of how you can make your boxes a little funnier. They can be made in any color or size and with different types of paper...only the imagination sets the limits :P

Some technical info for precise sizing:
Box diameter = Original sheet side length /2
Box width = Box diameter / (√2)
Box height = Box width /2
