After the pockets are sewn in it looks like you cut a little notch in the back piece. How deep do you cut the notch?

Is the adhesive done at the edges and stitched through or is it above the stitch line

It should be at the edges and stitched through. I suggest using 1/8" two-sided tape as it is fast and clean.
