just a suggestion that might allow this instructable to have a bit more meat . . . you could research the scripts that invert the text and provide a description of the algorithm . . . maybe it's the nerd in me but that would definitely improve the coolness factor *shrugs

Google?
What's wrong with actually giving the links ( http://www.fliptext.org and http://www.fliptext.net are the two easiest ones to remember)?
And is it really worth an entire Instructable to say "Go to this website and copy and paste the text it makes"?

. I don't have a problem with how simple it is. A lot of ppl are probably interested in upside down text. I've seen quite a few "How did you do that?" posts. . But I do agree that it could have been written a little bit better (eg, including some links - at the very least, a link to the Google search). My biggest complaint is the repetition of graphics that have nothing to do with the subject (other than they are upside down). . Ie, good idea, but poor implementation. With a little polish it should make a good iBle.

TY I am too dang lazy to find other pictures. Kiteman, people (not insulting you guys) have put Instructables on BOILING WATER! A monkey with only a flippen' bone could do that! But, not just any flippen' monkey can go to fliptext.org, ahem, coming to the subject of you, Kiteman.

1. Well done on taking on board the criticism and improving the 'ible. As Kelseymh says, though, it still needs an actual link to the site, like this.
2. If you're too lazy to do it right, don't do it.
3. The boiling water project was bad, and got a worse reception than your did. Read the comments.
4. We have a "be nice" policy, which you just broke.
Oh, and if you want a particular person to know you have replied to a comment, you click the "reply" button, not the "add comment" button.

1. The creator won't let me link the www.fliptext.org thing. 2.ROFL! You thought I meant that? 3.Ouch! These guys are in hot water(pun intended). 4.Sorry. I have some meany geneys.

What do you mean it won't let you link? You type in a complete URL, including the "http://" prefix (not just the hostname), and it will automatically be turned into a hyperlink. For example, here's https://www.instructables.com.
If you want some text string to be the link, as Kiteman did with the word "this", then you use square brackets, typed as:
[https://www.instructables.com The Robot]
which makes The Robot.

Perhaps he meant he contacted the site's owner and was denied permission?
Reply 14 years ago on Introduction
. You can not prohibit someone else from linking to your site/page. You don't have to provide access to the address, but you can't stop someone from linking.
Reply 14 years ago on Introduction
I know, but I meant that perhaps he asked for permission as a courtesy, was denied it, and for that reason (hyper-politeness, shall we say) is not linking. Just a theory.

It's a very poor instructable, to be sure, but Kiteman's Zeroth Law doesn't address issues of quality. Hoist by your own petard, you are!

Ouch! True, but that is the point of my comments - criticisms which popsicle has taken on board and used to turn dross into a half-decent project.

It's fixed! TAKE THAT, KITEMAN.
Reply 14 years ago on Introduction
No it is not. You need to edit the text of Step 1 to actually provide a hyperlink. If you don't know how to do so, use the search facility and figure it out.
