design flaws in top ranked Knex guns/Srv2 pics Answered

How many top ranked Knex guns have u built? Have u discovered any problems with the design? If so what? I have recently built several top ranked assault type Knex guns and have run into multiple problems I was wondering how faulty weapons get such high ratings Its frustrating to build these guns and run into so many basic design flaws ps although i haven't built the assault pistol by Viccie something i must give credit to him for making a quality weapon that doesn't have too many design issues nice work! SRv2

I want better pics of the inside. This sniper can be one of the best. But you never take good pics of the inside. All the guys that have make Instructables of it. It is wrong I think.

Oh right yeah mine is just about the mech, you haven't posted enough pictures for me to know how make the whole thing (not a critisism!)

Yes, I thought so, Because the yellow rod by the trigger mag is to long.

I know it's inferior to the SRv2 but the SRv1 was hopelessly flawed with it's firing mech. It hardly ever holds the bullet with BIG rubberbands.

the v1 was my first prototype slingshot the v2 is the redesigned and perfected slingshot system i tested the v2 and its ammunition for over 6 months

Well I'm sure he was just the first person to call if official ammo. I'd used it since I was like 7, as well as varients of it (different rods). I made bows.

yes Lowney's is built well and his ranges prove it however it isn't just the gun it is also the ammunition and the bands w/ out either or the gun is nothing more than a huge waste of time lol

Sorry for posting this here but I figured it sort of fits with the topic. I'm thinking why don't we just making a repeating sniper that doesn't feed like most guns? In fact we could probably do it to a lot of guns. It can still use a standard magazine but it would load into a chamber underneath the barrel. Then when you operate the bolt a separate pin would push the ammo out of the loading and on to a ramp of some sort into the barrel. Then that would some how place the ammo right where it should be for max pin use. Then we get a reliable (as long as we perfect the loading system), powerful repeater.

That would be called bolt action, S0lek3ller had that idea too.

Well duh it's bolt action. Alright then why doesn't someone try it? I'm still wrapped up with my pieces at the moment.

Have you seen Jollex's bolt-action sniper rifle?

I have but it has a lot of flaws. It uses a vertical hopper (whether it uses a pusher or not) which I don't care for. If I remember it also doesn't use all the pin length in order to get the bolt loading system working. Basically I want to perfect the whole system. Also I'm thinking about making a smaller version off this for all assault weapons where the round simply gets slid out of the magazine into the barrel similar to how pistols load ammo.

Well, we cant make bolt-action guns with a bottom-loading mag right now. So its just hoppers right now.

Have you not been reading?! That's what I'm planning on doing! I have two ideas one for a long distance, large repeaters and one for smaller weapons. I already explained both of them. The magazine won't load directly into the chamber but instead will be slid into the chamber while the rest of the ammo is held down without the firing pin. Look at a video of how any automatic works. Like search up glock function or AK47 function on youtube and you'll find a video somewhere that shows how the gun works. I'm planning on mimicking this action expect manually (and without the shells).

we also need to figure out how to perfect oblivitus's idea of the repeating slingshot...then we could have two pins to pull, one for the rubberband, and one to load the bullet....then it probably wouldnt take to long to make something so u just have to pull one thing, then it pulls the other 2 things...then we would have a completely INCREDIBLE weapon.

Oblivitus's idea? I had that idea long ago. I already know how I could make one work. I simply don't have the pieces to start though. I'll try making the base mechanism and someone could finish the barrel for me I guess.

Hey, I think I figured it out.  I have a repeating crossbow idea that can probably work with a slide.

I currently have a gun right now that's designed like you said, except the magazine is above the chamber. I've tried making one load from below but I've never been able to pull it off, props to you if you can.

Alright seeing how I need a sniper in general anyways I'll take a shot at it and leave the XM8 to trauts and hopefully I'll finish before he will.
