I would like to get someone help. I already built the 3x3x3 led cube. I bought everything, the PicKit 2 as well, I am so confused, because I thougt the code what I found on this website, just need to transfer it into the chip. I really enoyed this soldering stuff, and I pre made 3 cube, but only what is stopped me is the chip. Can you help me please!! I just want to know how is the simplest way to put this code onto the chip. I tried check google, and YouTube, but I didn't find an understandable tutorial. Please help me in this issue!

Thank you!

If you've got the pickit programmer and a .hex file for the code, all you need is to install the pickit2 software. Then you just select the device, import the hex, and press the write button.

If the code is only available in .asm (or possibly .c), you will need to install the mplab IDE software. Then select the device and programmer, press the build button, then the program button.

Thank you very much for your help. I had a .hex file what I tried on the demo board, and that four LEDs start flashing! WOW! I downloaded this file from this website: https://www.instructables.com/id/3x3x3-LED-Cube/step2/The-software/
but when I press the Build button, the its says:
HI-TECH C Compiler for PIC10/12/16 MCUs (Lite Mode) V9.81
Copyright (C) 2010 Microchip Technology Inc.
(1273) Omniscient Code Generation not available in Lite mode (warning)
Error [939] ; . no file arguments

********** Build failed! **********

Probably I do something wrong.

Unless, you want to make some changes to the code, you only need the .hex file.

I've only used mplab with asm files, but assuming it is a similar process for c files, you can either do build -> quickbuild file.c, or create a new project with the wizard and add the c file when it gives you the option, then build as normal.
