Can anyone identify this cable? + bonus question

I've taken some pics of a cord that's coming out of a camcorder LCD display I salvaged from an old camcorder. Can anyone identify it? I counted 28 pins. I also have a second question. I was hoping to connect the LCD display to a webcam so if anyone would be willing to provide any insight on that, I'd appreciate it :) Thanks in advance!

How do the internal elements of a 28-80 mm lens differ from a 28-200 mm lens? Answered

I'm trying to follow an I'ble posted by Patholio (fisheye lens, https://www.instructables.com/id/cheap-fisheye-lens/). He used an element of a 28-200 mm lens. I have disassembled a 28-80 lens, but the results are less spectacular even though the focal length at the low range (28mm) is the same. I can imagine that the elements of both lenses differ, hence the difference. Is this the explanation?

The First 28 Instructables Ever Published (10 Years Ago!)

The first instructable ever was published on August 4, 2005. There were in fact 28 instructables published on that date. I was curiously digging through that first day's offerings, and decided they deserved to be showcased in their very own collection. The topics are wide-ranging, interesting, and entertaining. It was the beginning of something special that we've all grown to love very deeply. What are your thoughts regarding these first instructables, and the site and community in general? Would you like to just reminisce a little? Leave your thoughts here! The site has grown incredibly in these past 10 years. Here's to the next 10!

I am new at electronic engineering but i just have a few questions about a diagram i tested which seems to work, but i rather more opinions to ensure my transistor, or leds, or resistors, or anything else doesn't burn out but last. Can someone advise me if i need to change any resistors? I need some guidance please. Thank you for the help, its really appreciate. In the future i may be downgrading to 5MM LEDs...Red & White. When i do downgrade, will i need to replace my resistors? MY circuit is in parallel..Should it be a good idea to switch to a Series Circuit instead?

So why does the newsletter (28/03/10) have "old" ible's?

So I presume many of you who frequent the instructables site are all signed in to the newsletter. Now maybe you have noticed anything about the newsletter you got today but I have! And that is that the newsletter doesn't have any new ible's! I have been noticing that it has happend before so when I got the latest newsletter (28/03/10) I decided to investigate if I was right. I clicked on every ible that was in the newsletter and noticed that none of these ibles were created  in 2010! All the ibles were dated from December 2006 to december 2009! So my question is, why? I know there were some good ibles since the last newsletter. And many new ibles got featured every day! I have searched for some examples I find newsletter worthy and I would definitly go to the site if I saw these and didn't know them before: www.instructables.com/id/Pallet-Adirondack-Chair/ www.instructables.com/id/DIY-R2D2-Lamp-from-10-IKEA-lamp/ www.instructables.com/id/Red-Oak-Pyramid-Bow/ www.instructables.com/id/Leather-Steampunk-Top-Hat/ Just some examples from the top of my hat. I've been going through my emails and I noticed you send a newsletter the 25th (25/03/10) that did have alot of new ibles. So what is the problem? Did robot screw up the newsletter list or is there some sort of cycle going on? (first one with fresh ibles then one with old ones some people may not have found yet). I think you guys do great work keeping this site up and running and dealing with our problems so to make things clear this isn't hostile or anything. I was just wondering why you suddenly send a newsletter with old ibles when there are so many new good ones?

How to connect physical pushbuttons to a computer for use in a soundboard program?

I plan to do a project that will use 28 arcade style pushbuttons to activate 28 different sounds on a computer. Any ideas on products out there I can use to connect all 28 buttons to a computer, preferably with a USB cable, so it can be used in a programming language such as C++? One idea I had was to take apart a QWERTY keyboard, but I still want to be able to use my regular keyboard to use my computer. Alternatively, is there a way for two keyboards to be connected to same computer, but one of them only activates a specific program? i.e. trying to type in notepad with it wouldn't work?

Computer won't detect 8gb zune-brand new, 28 hours out of box-can you help?

Hey, all.Yesterday, I bought an 8 gb zune and brought it home. I tried turning it on, but all I got was a screen w/ the zune logo, so I figured I had to leave it charging. I went home, disconnected the zune as per instructions I read on the official site, downloaded the software, installed the software (after redownloading because the first one got interrupted and thus currupted), and plugged it in.The software never recognized it. I kept getting the zune logo (on the player screen), no matter what. Once, I got it to say "charging", but that's it. I left it connected with the logo screen on all night and all this morning, and this afternoon have played with it with no success. Did a hard reboot. Finally got it to turn on when disconnected and say something about connecting to the social network or something, but pressing the ok button in the center of the zune didn't work. Neither did pressing play, or back. It showed critical battery and turned itself off. Did this twice more, apparently I've completely drained the battery because it won't turn on at all now. If I connect it now, the computer dings over and over and over like it knows something is happening but can't figure it out. Apparently this is a common problem, I have googled and tried many things with no success.I've tried all my usb ports, it's brand new out of the box, so is the cord, I know all my usb ports work.It does show up under device manager, with a yellow question mark beside it.I'm about ready to return this piece of microsoft junk, before I do, I thought I'd see if anyone has a zune or knows how to fix this...Can anyone help me?

JDM Programmer won't work with 8 pin chips

I bought a JDM programmer from ebay. It has slots for 8 pin, 18 pin and 28 pin chips. It's not a professional model, it's probably home made. When I use Winpic800 in Windows XP SP3 it is able to successfully read and write to both the 18 and 28 pin chips without a problem, but not with 8 pin chips. They're not automatically detected like the other chips nor can they be read of programmed properly. I think it might be due to power , but I'm on a desktop PC, so I don't think it's providing less power than required, plus why would 18 and 28 pin chips work all right. It could be the programmer, but all the connections appear sound, plus the thing came with some smart cards that already contained pre-programmed chips, including two 8 pin chips, so you'd think that it must've worked at some point. As it stands I haven't got a clue what I'm doing wrong and I would really appreciate help with this. Thanks :)

What battery should i use?

So I started a little home project where I am using 28 LED lights and I need to know what kind of battery I should use. The lights I have are 5mm, 3-3.2 volts, 20mA-30mA. I want to wire the lights in a parallel circuit for each one. I want the LEDs to be bright! They are rated at 2,500 mcd @ 20mA. -I need a battery that is a very small battery less than 1"x1"x2" or very close to that. -Also is it possible to use a battery that is a 3.0 volt battery that is something like 2000 mAh - I did the math and it seems that my mAh is 560 because (20mA)x(28 LEDs)= 560 mAh. Is that right? if so could I use a battery that is 3 volts and 2000 mAh and have a battery life of 3.5 hours? because 2000/560. is that right? So in a summary, I need a small battery powerful battery that can EQUALLY light up 28 LEDs and if so what kind of resistors would i need if I use a battery that is 3/ 6/ 9/ 12 volts. Also do i need to have a resistor for each LED light or can i have one at the end of all the parallel circuit? Thanks!!!!

Do different AVR microcontrollers have different ISP pins? Answered

I am building an avr programmer shield for an Arduino. I need to know if all 8 pin/14 pin/20 pin/28 pin/40 pin avrs have the isp pins in the same spot. In other words, is every 8 pin avr going to have it's isp pins on the same 4 pins, or are there variations?
