High Pressure Shutoff? Answered

How do you make a high pressure compressor stop at 4500 psi without spending tons of money? Hopefully adjustable between 3000 and 4500 psi.

Can an engine be a High Pressure Compressor? Answered

I have tried this question before but, people pay little attention it seems like.  I know you can modify engines and all that stuff so that they will compress air and all that good stuff, but CAN THEY HANDLE 4500 psi type pressures.  The heads of 4500 psi compressors don't look like the cylinders are much bigger than those on a lawnmower.

Hydraulic Cylinder Compressor? Answered

Ok, so I need to make a compressor that reaches 4500 psi.  I live in a farm town and my dad has a tractor so I wondered if I took two identical hydraulic cylinders and filled one with what I was compressing, and the other I powered with the tractors hydraulic system, if I would be able to achieve high pressure and fill tanks, assuming the hydraulic pump and cylinders are rated for that pressure.  Or could I just use a hydraulic compressor.

Large High Pressure Storage Tanks? Answered

I am looking into a green power system but, I would need 4500 psi hydrogen tanks.  They are way to small to be practical, even the large 144 c.f. ones (biggest I could find).  Is there anything special about hydrogen storage tanks, or will any 4500 psi tank work, and does anyone know were to get big ones, like huge.  If not, any ideas on how to fab one.  I know a guy who is high pressure certified so he could weld it, but what thickness of metal is needed for say a 12" diameter tank about 10-15' foot long. (yea, that big)

Kronos 4500 LCD

Well, I'll get right to the point. I bought a LCD from goldmine-elec.com and it came in today. i have no expirence with lcd screens, and cannot find the pins required. the screen goes in a Kronos 4500 time clock, and has the following marking on the board. 9600009-002 REV.B 3601021 - 001 AVLOT # 48723-0201 EDT EW50107FLYU Please, anyone with more expirince, anyone have any idea how to interface this with arduino? TIA!

Should I build on a dell demension 4500?

I have a dell dimension 4500, only 128mb ram, 1.8ghz processor, 18gb hdd running XP Home. Is it a good idea to buy and add better parts to this computer? I'm thinking about maxing out the RAM, and buying a 80gb hard drive. I work with non-commercial 3D graphics design (its a hobby), and I need more power. Should i work off this computer or buy a new one?

Tesla Turbine Bike

I was curious if anyone has created an air compressed tesla turbine bike. Using a 4500 , maybe even 2 4500 carbon fiber tanks. Something along the lines of this instructable https://www.instructables.com/id/How_to_Strap_a_Leaf_Blower_Engine_to_a_Bike_and_Go/ Just curious if anyone has tried this, sort of thing and if it was plausible, and how long the tanks would last or if there was some other design such as directly hooking up to the gears.

Can I use a hydraulic pump for air? Answered

I am looking for a high pressure pump (3000-4500) psi.  I finally got the idea that I could use a pump like this: Hand Pump  I think they have a built in reservoir but I think I could pump into it at around 100 psi from a pre-compressor.  Will this work or can it not pump air. Also, would it need oiled because it doesn't have the oil flowing through.  Just so you know I wouldn't be pressuring a vessel to 4500 psi by hand, I would rig up a motor for this.

Can a "dead" rechargeable battery be resucitated?

I have a Filter Stream Ultra Dust Tamer 4500 that doesn't recharge.  Is there a solution; a replacement part; any help at all?  I really don't understand rechargeable batteries.  I think they may get fried if the transformer is left plugged in too long??  How long is too long?  I know this question applies to all rechargeable batteries with transformers, e.g., cell phones, portable vacuum cleaners, cameras and on and on.  Thank you.

Can a 5v 500mah charger charge a 6v lead acid battery? Answered

I bought a solar lighting kit from a local electronic store that has a fold-able 3.4w 9v solar panel and a 6v 4500 mah lead acid battery built-in. Then I recently bought another solar light kit that has a 1.7w solar panel, a 3.7v 2200 mah Li-ion battery and came with a 5v 500mah wall charger. So my question is would it be possible if the wall charger that came with the solar kit that had it charge the other solar kit that has a lead acid battery?

I was given a 42uF 12KV oil capacitor. Any suggestions for having some high tech fun with it? Answered

It's rated for oscillatory currents, pretty old, but it is in good cond. electrically. I can easily and safely charge and discharge it. The thing is, it was free, and I suppose I couldn't turn it down. Now what? The highest voltage I would possibly need a filter cap for is 4500 for an amplifier, so that's out. The "oscillatory currents" rating makes me think it was for energy storage and high frequencies. It is likely from LANL surplus. Can crusher? disc launcher? I'm mainly interested in suggestions for projects that will focus on a fast discharge and high peak power levels, and do not require a lot of additional items, but I am open to any decent ideas.

How to use an Compressed Air tank?

I am new to compressed air tanks. I need some details about them. (For an air car actually) 1. How to refill a 4500 psi air tank. 2. How do I know the pressure of air comming out . ( Most Important) Can anybody please provide me a schematic drawing on how do I connect the air tank, the pressure gauges (Gauge 1. which shows the pressure and amount of air in the tank and Gauge 2 which shows the pressure of air comming out)  and the compressor with the copper tubes. I read on a site formula for power of an air engine is HP= PLAN / 33000 where P. Mean effective pressure in pounds per square inch. L. Stroke in feet. A. Piston area in square inches. N. Number of power strokes per minute. How do I get value of N for the formula. Thanks for any help.

RV plans for sale $45.00

The Wildwood lets the home builder make his own motorhome that looks just like expensive factory-built units. It can be built on cut-off vans, chassis cab trucks, or even pick-up trucks with the bed removed if of suitable capacity. Options on the plans allow for long and short wheelbase units. The floor plan shown is a popular layout used on long wheelbase models, however, you can vary the arrangement considerably to suit your own requirements, as well as to suit shorter units. Our comprehensive plans show how it's done, including simple details and instructions for mounting the coach to the chassis, cab attaching methods for cut-off vans, as well as all the other necessary information to allow you to do a professional job. Plus, full size patterns are provided for the contoured sidewall portions for accurate construction. Best of all, you save a bundle by building your own.Specifications*Coach length overall 20'0"Coach width overall 7'11"Interior length overall 19'8"Interior width overall 7'7"Interior height (headroom) min 6'6"Cabover headroom (deduct for mattress) 30"Fresh water capacity (standard) 30 gallonsHolding tank capacity (standard) 30 gallonsLPG capacity variesCoach weight (dry estimated) 3000 lbs.Sleeping capacity 6 adultsTruck type: Designed for use on chassis cab or cut-off van-type trucks of suitable GVW rating. The Wildwood is designed as illustrated ]for use on so-called "long wheelbase" trucks having a GVW (gross vehicle weight) rating of 9000 lbs. minimum which is reflected in the above specifications. The plans provide details for a shorter option for use on "short wheelbase" trucks which should have a GVW rating of 8000 lbs. minimum. It is possible to vary the plans to suit other truck chassis which may not fall into these classifications, as long as the GVW ratings are of comparable minimums or larger. Since truck chassis are extremely variable, the above specifications should be considered an approximation.
