The FX-9 series has come to an end.

As you may or may not know. I have been working on a series of guns called FX-9 since January of 09. I have recently decided that I have made all the guns I can under that name. Don't get me wrong I'll still be making guns just not under the name FX-9.Here are all of the guns in the series:https://www.instructables.com/id/FX_9_Sniper_Rifle/https://www.instructables.com/id/FX_9_Crossbow/https://www.instructables.com/id/Knex-FX-9-Pistol-V12/https://www.instructables.com/id/FX-9-TAW-or-Tactical-Assault-Weapon/https://www.instructables.com/id/FX-9-Crossbow-V25/https://www.instructables.com/id/FX-9-Beast-Pistol/So now that I'm done with the FX-9 series I will be working on a series called the Thunderbolt series. This series of guns will be meant for war only. So keep an eye out for the Thunderbolt series. Thanks for readingKiller~SafeCracker

Commandments of Knex guns.

1. All guns shall be 6 layers or less 2. All magazine fed guns must be bolt action. I mean come on this is 2013 we've seen enough basic mag guns. 3. Removable magazines must have an internal pusher, closed top, and actually lock into the gun and not just use friction to stay in. 4. Only shoot normal rods, oodammo, or fin ammo. Connector ammo is a giant no no. 5. Big stocks are the greatest sin. A stock should be the right length and be sturdy. Do not make some piece sucking monstrosity. No it's not more comfortable. 6. Be as piece efficient as possible. Don't make the gun bigger than it has to be. 7. Use a pin guide. Always and forever. 8. No tape can be used on the gun except on the pin. 9. Avoid cut parts if possible. Your gun had better do something different or special for it to have cut parts. 10. Have an angled grip. Always. These are in no order.  Just follow them.

Z35 K'nex Assault Rifle: Review

Here is the review for the Z35 K'nex Assault Rifle by Oblivitus. What to expect:Innovation: 9/10 Very innovative loading system. It also has a new trigger system. Strength: 9/10 Very strong. The one weak part is the handle, the connection to the body is weak.Range: 8/10 The range is good for a mag gun, about 40-45 feet.Looks: 9/10 One of the better looking guns on this site. The one thing that could make it look better is using less blue rods.Parts: 9/10 Uses quite a few parts, But it's worth it. Handle: 7/10 The handle is good but the connection is weak.Stock: 9/10 very sturdy Barrel: 10/10 Innovative slide mech. Trigger is very innovative as well. Magazine: 9/10 New and doesn't use cut parts.Extras. Bipod:8/10 not the best but it holds up the gun.At the end: I would give the gun 9/10.Here is the link to the gun. https://www.instructables.com/id/Z35-Knex-Assault-Rifle/Thanks for reading.Killer~SafeCracker

Best voltage for coil gun?

In my coil gun project I have 36 330v 120 uf flash capacitors. When I had them arranged in 4 banks of 9 linked together in series (.5*1200*1200*1000e-6 = 720J) the projectile could easily punch through cardboard. But when I tried to increase the power by making 7 banks of 5 giving me (.5*2100*2100*500e-6 = 1100J) the projectile has trouble getting through cardboard. The coil I am using is 50 feet of 22 gauge wire. Is there any thing that I am missing? Thanks.

Knex BAW review.

this is the dunkises BAW review. comfort: 9/10 - excellent comfort, pitty theres no foregrip. power: 6/10 - its got ok power, remember, its for close range. looks: 9/10 - it looks pretty cool. innovation: 9/10 - you can put magazines in the stock and the trigger is pretty cool. accuracy: 5/10 - not so great accuracy, remember, its for close range. piece usage: 8/10 - doesnt use tonnes of pieces, depends on how much knex you have. strenght: 7/10 - when you have no magazines inserted into the gun its a tad bit wobbly, nothing huge though. reliability: 6/10 - you may have to change the trigger a bit to get it to work and sometimes the mag falls out of the chamber. overall: 59/80 - its a great gun from the dunkis, but requires skill to make it.

pumatic airsoft gun help ? Answered

Ok so heres my situation. About 6 months ago I made my own pneumatic airlift sniper but even though I could get about 80 lbs of pressure stored up before I pulled my trigger my sniper only shot as far as my 300 fps gun. My question is why cuz I had a lot more force in my pneumatic sniper then my other gun and it doesn't seem to matter. My sniper was made of a metal nipple about 9 inches long and 2 inches in diameter. I then put a cap on one end and a reducing coupler on the other. I drilled a hole in the cap and inserted a valve that allowed me to attach the chamber to a bike pump. On the end with the reducer I then added a ball valve that worked as my trigger. After the ball valve was another reducing coupler that brought the size down from an inch to 1/2 an inch. Into this coupler I screwed a break line about 50 cm long(sorry about the unit change I don't remeber its length in inches) and it fit the bb very nicely. I also added a little contraption I made from paper clips that allowed the gun to be tired downward without the bb falling out. However I don't believe this was the problem as I fired the gun when their was just a wire across the back of my breakline ,to keep the bb from falling into the gun ,and the distance seemed the same. I made sure every connection before the ball valve was sealed well except that the gun did leak at a rate of 20 lbs for minute because of a bad connection with the valve that connected with the bike pump. If you need more info just say so in the comments but I don't have the gun with me right now so all i have to go off of is my memory. Thanks for your help I really appreciate it. : )

UMP-45 K'NEX gun review

This gun has found its way into the favorites of many members. This review should answer the question: Should I build it?SPECSPower: 10 out of 10 Why? It went through paper at 5 feet, got stuck in cardboard at about 5. Looks: 9 out of 10 Why? Looks EXACTLY like a UMP-45. Well, with the wire stock, it does.Ergonomics: 7.5 out of 10 Why? Feels...odd to hold.Innovative...ness: 9 out of 10 Why? Pretty much everything is new, but...y'know.Accuracy/Sights: 8.5 out of 10 Why? New sights! They...are...awesome. But, the 'bullet' veers. Oh, WELL.Magazine: 8.7 out of 10 Why? Well, it's good for the most part. Never ever jams. But if you press directly in on the mag switch(the white rod) it messes it all up. So you have to push down and in. It's also not a very good connection; a few bumps will break it off, turning the magazine into a shotgun shell, loaded with gray shot.NEW! Rail system: 7.5 out of 10 Why? The connections go AROUND the connectors, not in them. So that makes it kinda flimsy.Piece consumption: 7.5 out of 10 Why? This doesn't use TOO too(I meant to have 2 toos) many of your pieces, but you might not be able to build anything too big for a little while. Stocks:(We'll examine BOTH stocks.) WIRE STOCK: 9 out of 10 Why? Looks better, but kinda flimsy. Not REALLY, though. FULL STOCK: 9.5 out of 10 Why? Sacrifices looks for strength."Toy" parts(the charging handle was the only one I could really find)7 out of 10 Why? So...FUN!! to just slide back and forth. Pointless, but cool to have. Like a laser cannon.War Weapon: 9.5 out of 10 Why? Let's just say it'll have 'em beat. If they've already built this, they'll probably run out of sheer terror like bunnies. (?)Overall: 9.3 out of 10. Why? Do you really need a Why? for this?Great gun. I recommend it to any H&K;(drools) fans, or if you just want something cool.TheDunkis scores again.

K'Nex Guns Need To Move On!

Alright, someone needs to say this so i will. Knex guns are stuck in this sort of, generic handguns, average assault rifles, shotguns with nothing new. We all need to rack our brains and come up with some concepts, then post them. So we can all have a crack at a what would be considered "HARD" concept. We need to be trying new ideas. We're stuck in a dark age of nothing new (only rarely something good might come out) we need to step forward . Basically, I'd much rather see some pics of a failed concept and what you were trying to acheive than, "Removable Mag Handgun" or "M8AR (MegaMetal8's Assault Rifle)" which is just a generic removable mag gun. I Say one of us with quite alot of subs needs to make a ible/forum where EVERYONE has access and can post concepts. Its just getting boring with all this, so for more fun and ideas. Together, LETS DO THIS! Thankyou for reading and together we can make this happen. -MM8

Which gun do you want first?

Ok, I am having a difficult time deciding on which v2 to work on first. I am building v2's on all of them, but I want to see which one you want first.vote choices:SPEC-9 v2 (i figured out how to make it use less parts so I can finish it now)Jackal .357 v2 (may be renamed if I build it). Also specify if you want a mag on this gun or not if you vote for itRX-bow v2Closing date is this thursday, 12:00 noon central time.THE POLLS ARE CLOSED.a unaminous vote for the SPEC-9 v2 means ill build that (came in form of Longbow v2)

Knex MP5K review.

this is shadowninja31s MP5K review. comfort:6/10 - its quite uncomfortable at the back of the handle, but the grip is fine. power: 8/10 - for close range, its got alot of power. looks: 10/10 - probably one of the best replicas ive seen. innovation: 8/10 - nothing new, its got removable magazines and other features. accuracy: 9/10 - its very accurate at close range. piece usage: 8/10 - not to much pieces. strenght: 9/10 - very sturdy, the magazine is the only weak point if dropped or hit. reliability: 9/10 - nearly every time the bullet leaves the barrel, if you use a tight rubber band on the magazine pusher all the shots will leave the barrel. also, if the band is too tight on the trigger the rod may snap off every like 100 shots, just replace it. overall: 67/80 - if you want a great replica with power, make this! link: https://www.instructables.com/id/MP5K/

Ultra Pistol 2 Review

Okay, if you guys haven't built the ultra pistol 2 before, then get building! Or, if you built the original and liked it, then you'll love this! This is my first review so, yeah, i've seen many done, so I'll be fine. We'll start with reliability: This gun is very reliable, it's easy to fix when broken, it doesn't mess up when firing, and it's pretty much impossible for the new trigger to mess up. I give it a   10/10 Strength: This one is much stronger than the ultra pistol 1. It's smaller, making it stronger, and the new barrel is shorter, so it's stronger too, the only thing wrong is the handle and trigger connection, making the handle wobble a tiny bit. I give it a     9/10 Range: This gun is very powerful, due to single shot, so it can get a good 45 feet, or 55 if you use more bands. I give it a 9/10 Rate of Fire: It's a single shot, so you don't get a good ROF. I give it a   6/10 Comfortability: The only thing that you are holding is a handle, the handle is right handed, and i imagine it is comfortable like that. (i hold guns in my left hand. I give it a   8/10 Accuracy: This gun is damn accurate, even more accurate when you have finned rods, but not everyone has time or wants to make those. I give it a   9/10 Looks: This gun looks a lot like a magnum, which is a really cool gun, but there is something missing on it.... I give it a   9/10 Trigger: Trigger is a teensy bit forward, but it doesn't mess up or anything evil. I give it a   9/10 Last but not least- ammo: This gun takes a lot of different kinds of ammo, and you can test out which ones you like and whatever. I give it a   9/10 Overall: 8.7- a very good gun by Oblivitus

What Airsoft Guns, Pellet Guns or Bows Do You Use? And Other Accesories

My Airsoft gun is a Crosman Stinger P32, clear, manual, 6mm, spring-powered pistol. 10 in the mag, 50 in the reservoir. I bought a jar of 10,000 bbs with it too (also Crosman), which are labbelled as "camo ammo" (why would you ever want camo ammo? I find it annoying because there's no way to find them in the grass!). The gun came with a small jar of 400 bbs, with a flip spout. My friend also bought some really crappy bbs in South Africa for one rupee (it says "1.00 R" on the price sticker), but his airsoft gun broke so he gave em to me (they're in a grenade shaped jar). The gun came with an extra clip. I made a holster for it out of the blister package, which I might make an instructable out of (it already perfectly its the gun!). The pellets were $29, and the gun was about $30. I got it summer 2006.I also have a pellet gun, which I don't remember the brand of. It's a break-barrel. I've had it for a year or two. It's my family's though, not just mine (my dad bought it for us).My bow is a red fiberglass, which I don't know the brand of or anything. The draw-weight is 9 and a half pounds. I got it when I was 9 or 10, and I'm 15 now. It's a little weak for me now. I have 5 arrows, one of which is somewhere in the pile of hay bales. They're all target arrows (roundheads), 3 of them are fiberglass, the other 2 are wood. The bow costed about $50.What guns and bows and other type thingies do you have?

So i recently built the E.A.P by Killer~SafeCracker. It's... Reliability-10/10-Never jammed. Never. Trigger always locks. Always. Never breaks. Never. Looks 8/10-I could stare at this all day. Comfort. 8/10-Some bad points but, IT HAS BLACK WHEELS! Strength 10/10-Never breaks. Never. Mag capacity 8/10-17, not bad. Range 7/10-2 #64s = 40 ft flat, 70 ft angled. Power 9/10-Paper=dead. Overall it's ( no really, i did the math) is 8.57143. Or, for you lazy people, 9. So I recommend it!

Z35 Assault Rifle Review

Ok so I built the Z35 assault rifle to day and I thought why not make a review for it. Link-https://www.instructables.com/id/Z35-Knex-Assault-Rifle/ -Comfort 6/10(the handle was really flimsy) -Range 9/10(I got around 65-70 ft flat with 2 strands of 32's tied together) -Power 8/10(when I shot my hand it really didn't hurt to much) -Accuracy 8/10(the gun is kinda accurate) -Reliability 9/10(the gun is really reliable) -Body Weight/Balance 8/10(the gun is kinda heavy it helps if you include the carrying strap) -Magazine 9/10(never jammed for me) So I would recommend this to anyone who wanted a blue rod mag fed gun or just an assault rifle.=)

K'NEX Guns on The Red Book of Westmarch's Bucket List

Here I am, revamping this topic with loads of new build ideas. What would you guys like to see? Note: The name of each picture is within the image notes. I also endeavored to put the name of the manufacturer in there for all of us "gun nuts." I have a feeling that this list will never stop growing... It hasn't yet. Enjoy! -The Red Book of Westmarch Updated as of: September 9, 2014

Enter: Inferno

The Inferno: Next-Gen Shifle I added a few more pictures to it - I'm not done with the top part or the slide, so those aren't on there yet. 5/6 Update: pics 4 and 5 are updated pictures of the Inferno. 5/15 Update: Then again, Its not really an update, but a picture, check out the sixth pic! 6/9 Update: The barrel in the pictures will NOT be the barrel on the gun. I'm planning on using a different barrel that focuses on power and accuracy. It IS possible with a mag to have as much power as any other single shot gun. 12/7 UPDATE: The gun is nearly completed, and has been dubbed "KI28s2." New pictures coming along the way! Another thing, the gun will not use the system explained in update: 6/9 because of lack of space in the design, but that will be a future project. 12/8 UPDATE!: NEW PICTURE OF INFERNO! 12/9 Update: New pictures of the Inferno and it's trigger system. The Instructables robot is on there too! 12/25 Update: BUILD YOUR OWN! On K'nex Innovation!

Airsoft fps

I have a Super 9 bolt action sniper rifle. Problem is, the guns that I use now have higher FPS then the sniper rifle, which means that a pistol would shoot farther then it. I would love to know of a way to ramp up the FPS in the sniper so that it won't be out gunned by a pistol.

Zip Review

Alright, so I just made JonnyBGood's Zip Mk1 today, and decided to do a review on it. I recommend that before you make this gun, please read my review as some of your questions may be answered. So without further adieu, let's start. @Range- Not Bad, but cannot be termed as good. It is VERY inconsistent as well. The range that I got with one rubberband on this gun was  5-20 feet. It is quite good for its size though. 6/10 @Looks- The looks of this gun is awesome. It looks really 'sci-fi'ish. 9/10 @Durability- Really strong and well built, does not break easily. Point to be noted that the handle-stock(ish) connection is flimsy, needs some work, but I can live with it. 9/10 @Pieces- The piece count of this gun is a bit too high for its size. And not to mention the 3 broken rods. 8/10 @Comfort- This gun is very comfortable to hold and will not hurt your hand. 10/10 @Rate of Fire- Well, a 3-4 shot gun can not have a true ROF but if the hopper was extended, it would have a helluva ROF. No marks as stated above. @Functioning- Almost perfect functioning, but I guess the blocking mechanism fails sometimes, but rarely. 9/10 The Verdict- 51/60 (pretty solid) It is a well built gun that could use some polishing but in the end, it could be one of the BEST secondary gun there is or even a nice primary. The gun overall is cool and I would suggest you to build it! Also check out JonnyBGood's page and his other stuff! Note- These are my views of the gun and if you think that I am wrong at some point, comment or PM me! Hope you enjoyed the review!

K'nex Gun Review - RBLTR V.1 (Red's Breach Loading Tactical Rifle)

Hello All This is a review on 'RBLTR V.1 (Red's Breach Loading Tactical Rifle)'. The RBLTR V.1 was published on the 1st of July 2013, and is considered by red himself to be his most powerful K'nex gun he has ever built. After building the gun and seeing the internals, it uses a pin pull mech and they look very similar to the G36C mech. There are many nice features to this gun that makes it original like the comfort bar and the sights. The gun shoots yellow rods to anyone wondering. STATS Range 10/10 - The range of the gun is rather high than an average gun. I managed to get 50ft accurately and around 80- 90 ft at an angle. It it described that the gun can reach ranges up to 70ft in the original description so I think 70ft is a fair judgement. As I managed to get 80ft plus,  I think the rating is 10/10. Appearance/ Looks 8/10 - The gun at first sight looks pretty hardcore although this does not really matter, I personally liked the comfort bar and the sights. The gun has a solid build so I think around a 8/10. Internals 8/10 - The internals within the gun are rather good, although I have had a few jams so I think 8/10. Broken Pieces 9/10 - The gun does not use any broken pieces however in some places the performance of the gun will exceed if broken pieces are used. That having been said I think a 9/10. Comfort 10/10 - I admire the gun mainly for its comfort of the handle. This helps to make the gun more accurate while aiming therefore a 10/10 without a doubt. Rate of Fire 6/10 - The ROF on this gun is quite good. When reloading this gun it did not take too long but their has been a lot more quicker and so I think a 6/10. Sturdiness/Durability 8/10 - The gun is put together well as I said earlier and I find it firm. When building this and adding the comfort bar is seemed that it was weak but as I added to it, it strengthened. Although the permanent fore-grip is rather weak in my opinion and could be stronger so I think a 8/10. Overall - 59/70 - This gun overall is awesome and I would recommend to build it! Also keep in mind that this is my ratings and opinions of the gun. Be sure to check out The Red Book of Westmarch's other guns. I hope you have enjoyed the review! Thank you! Hunter999

Status update (Update: Barackuda soon to post)

Hey, peoples. I'm rather sad to see the community dying but I figured I'll cling on a little longer, try to spark some more activity if possible. I see people still posting instructions, so that's good. Just wish we'd keep more discussion going on the forums. Anyway, a couple things: Just to show what I have around, I tried to make something after my Barackuda but didn't end up going anywhere. I just wanted to have something around, so I remade and improved my SMRI model. This version was designed solely for looks based off my last version. I couldn't really be bothered to try making this one shoot. It still uses Red's stock because I couldn't think of a better design at the time. Anywho, this wasn't meant to be the impressive bit, just something to show while yabbering. =P With the Barackuda and the SMRI, I realized that I'm still limited in a few pieces. I desperately need more dark greys, oranges, and black hands. I also realized I feel bad destroying guns and never keeping them around so that I can build new ones. I figure I might as well build my collection up so I can keep more guns around. So I've ordered more pieces. I'll get them probably some time early next week. I'm hoping to build something right away. I'm thinking of revisiting my Barackuda to see if I can improve the trigger and feed ramp. I might redesign it entirely. I'm hoping to attempt a repeating slingshot of some form at some point too. But it's an area I've never worked in before so I might get discouraged pretty quick. I dunno, I need to try actually building these ideas I have sitting in my head for years. I'll post more in here once I get the pieces and start building something. Update 2/19/16: I'm mostly finished with my new version of the Barackuda. I filled in the empty gaps on the rods of the magazine to make it fuller looking. The trigger -should- work better now but I just noticed it struggles to set when it's still pulled back while cocking. I suspect I just need a better band setup to resolve this, otherwise it works fine when you manually push the trigger forward. Last, the stock was changed entirely to give the bolt a rail to glide inside of with a solid bolt stop right after the trigger engages, allowing for a quick and smooth action. The handle connection is also more sturdy, so the stock is surprisingly rigid. Overall I'm much more pleased with this version, as long as I can figure out the trigger bands this might be posted. I'll begin working on yet another remake of the UMP soon. Update 11/9/16: Man, the year sure flew by. I apologize for never really getting around to posting the Barackuda before. This time I think I've finally gotten over my perfectionism. I've adjusted the stock to keep the same track design but attached it differently and otherwise made the rest of the stock use less pieces. I've figured out a (I think) new pair of K'nex sights more precise than our usual chunky ones, not that it'll help much. The trigger and back of the gun has been adjusted to block the pin further back, hopefully improving range slightly. The front of the gun was made more compact and flat at the bottom to allow potential changes to the front of the magazine in the future. It also makes muzzle loading much easier in tandem with the new ramp. The ramp is also simpler, more consistent, and hopefully offers better range than my other ones. Finally, the magazine has been adjusted to be easier to load and hopefully more reliable. I'd finally say this is a practical war weapon alternative. I'll post this...hopefully sooner rather than later. This time I mean it.
