Slinghammer Bullpup Edition

Because I had some time on my hands last Saturday, I decided to revisit my Slinghammer (A.K.A. the R1), but instead of just rebuilding the old gun, I decided to make it "bullpup operated." This version, the Slinghammer BE (Bullpup Edition) is more powerful, arguably more accurate, gets better range, and is less piece consuming that the first and second version. But, all of these advantages come at a cost. The Slinghammer BE does not have a adjustable stock, it is not as cool looking as the second Slinghammer version, and it is not as easy to load as the first version. Features: - Looks O.K. (IMO) - Accurate up to 80 - 90 ft. - Great ranges: 100 - 120 ft. - Modeled after the SRv3 - Very comfortable handle - Really comfortable stock There you have it. I thought that I would just let you guys know what I am working, what I'm keeping busy with, etc. Also, BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE NEW POLLS ON MY SITE. Find them here. -The Red Book of Wesmartch

Slingshot Bullpup Rifle Mech

Just a mech I made a while ago. Makes for a much more piece efficient slingshot with more power (more barrel length). Makes for a great cross section too.

Knex bullpup crossbow pistol.

This is a pretty intresting gun i made. its a 3 layer bullpup crossbow pistol. it fires about 50ft with some nice power and accuaracy behind it. the trigger is the intresting part. its inside the gun, and when you pull it, it pulls the lock out of the white connector (ratchet) tell me what you think!

My random bullpup model

So Dr. Richy posted his CAR which drew a little inspiration from this weapon that I posted on Red's wall in hopes he just might be able to turn it into a firing weapon. However, as I suspected, that's just not an easy task and I didn't expect it to happen. So I'm gonna just throw this out there and show anyone that didn't see it. It's made to be convincing, it could probably be turned into a real firearm. It's a bullpup designed to take 5.56 NATO rounds. I designed it to be somewhat ergonomic and compact. It has the front grip from...I don't even know how long that I used on my UMP. It's pretty simple, reasonably comfortable, and lets you quickly attach any front grip or bipod you can come up with. The muzzle was made from a new concept for a rounded barrel that could be used as a real K'nex barrel. This can also take a very cruddy and simple silencer attachment (which is actually just my Master Sword handle that I never wanted to disassemble). Then I added a basic rail on top that allows it to take airsoft or real rail accessories. It's not perfect, but you can get the accessories to grip into the grooves. I added a fake charging handle that is located in a decent, but not optimal position. This flows into a cheek rest of sorts that's rather close to the back of the gun so it can accommodate the charging handle pin. Your head is kinda cramped against your shoulder, but your face itself is comfortable aiming. And the front sight is detachable if you were to add a rail sight. I'm thinking I'll probably make a new one tonight for fun. It'll be shorter to be similar in size to a PDR. However, I might (not a definite) give it exchangeable fake barrels based on this one that allows it to lock in with a single pin. Secondly, I'm going to change the front to include an integrated folding forehandle that will also be comfortable to hold folded. Or so I hope. I'm also going to move the charging handle forward and make the roof one and the same with the rail to slim it down ever so slightly. This will also move the cheek rest forward to a more accurate position like on Dr. Richy's. Finally, I hope to add some nifty features but I'm not sure at all on these. One would be a bolt lock which probably wouldn't be too hard. It'd basically be like the charging handle is a firing pin and the bolt release would be a trigger, just mounted differently on the gun. And then the harder one would be to make a magazine release near the handle like on a PDR instead of the current one I use that makes you have to "strip" the magazine. On a real gun, this would be a great feature for making reloads a lot faster.

Why is a bullpup style knex gun less powerfull then a normal bullet-trigger-pin gun? Answered

All the bullpup guns i made were very weak and someone told me it was because of the magazine was behind the trigger. is this true and if it is, why?

Why Knex bullpups are (mostly) useless and a stupid idea.

So in the real world the point of a bullpup design is to either reduce the overall length of a gun, or to have the same length of gun but with a longer barrel, which results in a higher velocity bullet which can go further.  Another often added bonus is that the gun is more balanced weight wise around the handle, making it easier to handle.   Now to crush your dreams. Not a single on of those advantages carries over to knex guns.  Not one.  A bullpup knex gun will only end up longer(yes LONGER), use more parts, have theoretically lower range, it is less balanced, and more complicated with more things that can go wrong.   With a knex gun, you want as short of a barrel as possible for the shot to go through, so that there is as little friction as possible on it.  This is one reason that turret guns can be so powerful.  Now with a bullpup design, you almost automatically have to add a longer barrel, as the shot has to leave the action area AND go over your handle/trigger mech.  Not good. The gun will be less balanced because now basically the entire gun is behind the handle, unless you put some fat barrel on the front to balance it out, but then that breaks the first point I talked about, as well as using many more parts and defeating the purpose of being a shorter weapon.  Most ram guns now are mostly balanced, as the handle is usually in the middle of the gun, as the ramrod has to be pulled behind it as well as going in front of it, so you place the handle and trigger as close to the middle so as to make the trigger simpler. Now as to why making a knex bullpup will make it longer, just look at the pictures.  It will make sense then.  Also this is why you need many more parts for a gun like this.  Also the stock becomes disgustingly long. And finally, this is more of a design issue than a complete flaw, but the trigger is usually(USUALLY) weaker and more prone to failure/not working correctly with a bullpup gun.   Now this doesn't apply to everthing.  Slingshot guns and repeating slingshot guns actually benefit from a bullpup design, that will actually make them shorter and more balanced, because they are more similar to real guns in their layout in that the shot/magazine is the farthest part back in the mechanism.  Also replicas, well duh.   The pictures should make this all make more sense.  And I assumed a build for performance, so the pin draw is long and the magazine is as far away from the pin as possible.  Because all knex guns should be built like that.

Legality of putting airsoft gun into a real gun conversion kit??

Hey Instructables, I have a question about the legality of a project that I'm designing, as I don't want to make something illegal. As those who follow me on this site know, I play a lot of airsoft. I've recently been trying to design a new kind of airsoft rifle, and I would like a bullpup design (the magazine well is located behind the trigger to make a shorter gun). I was looking around on the net and I found this   It's a bullpup conversion for your standard Ruger 10/.22 rifle. i checked the legality of this conversion for the state I live in, California, and found that it IS in fact legal, as long as you only use a 10.22 in it, don't use an automatic, your magazine contains 10 rounds or less, and the barrel over 18 inches, with an overall gun length of 25 inches. Normally bullpup guns are illegal in California, but since the 10/.22 is a rimfire instead of a centerfire, and the ban only applies to centerfire guns, this conversion falls into a neat loophole, and is legal for sale on a normal license.  HOWEVER: I don't plan on putting a 10/.22 in this thing, I plan on tearing out all the internals of the conversion rendering it permanently effectively useless for a real-steel gun, and building a field-spec airsoft gun system inside it, making it basically a nonlethal toy for sports like any other airsoft gun. The final design would be built to the legal specs of a airsoft gun in the united states, with an orange barrel tip and a non-ballistic caliber.  I can even make the final gun fit into the real steel size requirements if that would help the legality. Basically, I don't know if this is legal or not, and haven't been able to find it online. As far as I can figure, it would be legal because the conversion kit counts as a STOCK, rather than a receiver or firearm in and of itself, so that gives a lot more leeway I would think.  I just want to be doubly sure before I begin this project, due to the heightened paranoia over guns and gun laws at this point, I don't want to be thrown in jail for making a toy.

Which firberglass and resin should I use for a custom paintball stock? Answered

I am building a bullpup stock for my little brothers Tippmann A-5. I have a rough model coming together using pink insulation foam board and some lexan for the trigger group. I obviously need this thing to be strong enough to take some punishment since it will be used in paintball games, but I have never fiberglassed anything before, and I'm clueless as to what kind of sheet/cloth to use and if the resin I use will melt the foam core. Knex Halo DMR

Hello guys! I recently built a Knex DMR off Halo reach. Its really cool looking but I have no interest in finishing it. It does work and function just like the Halo DMR.  It has a working bolt that does cock the weapon. It holds 15 grey connectors inside its removable magazine. It is a truly bullpup gun. It shot 35FT using the two bands. It also has a true pull straight back trigger. I have more important guns to be building than this one. WOW its been a long time...

Alright, I know its been a long time and there are probably a lot of things posted on my ibles that i haven't answered. If thats the case then just ask anything you want on this forum and I'll get to answering it. Because it has been such a long time i was kind of expecting to see some great new stuff out there, but I have to say, I'm not very impressed. Sure there are some good guns that came out, a couple bolt actions and bullpups that were impressive, but other than that, theres not much new. We aren't ging to get anywhere unless we start coming up with new ideas and sharing those ideas so that others can make them better. That said, I'm glad to be back and look forward to building with you. -Kinetic

What i've been up to: the bolt action, bullpup, tube mag, pump action, dual shot, sling repeater. Got your attention yet?

Ok, for those of you who had seen my shotgun design, you could probably tell it was over before it had even started.  I had tried 5 different layouts and I couldn't get past the frontmost barrel without running into problems.  I think it was a cool design, but it was just too much for K'nex. Most of my best get designs just pop into my head at the most random times.  Is it just me, or does this happen to other people too?  Anyways I was trying to make it until the bell in pre-cal (my teacher is a crazy cat woman who enjoys talking about her imaginary husband) and I just started drawing this design.  Not only did it kill 10 minutes but it may just be the best thing I've come up with in terms of K'nex. The magazine looking thing in front of the handle is actually the driving mechanism in this gun.  Shots are housed in the stock pressing up against the pusher.  When the pump is pulled, the pusher moves down, allowing two bullets (one shot) into the chamber.  When the pump is released, the pusher pushes the bullets up against an upper section, where they wait for the trigger so be pulled, releasing the ratchet and the rubber band, launching the two bullets with a decent (I hope) spread.   Even though it doesn't shoot yet it is fun to just load the ammo (thats just how cool this gun it).  It is probably going to be a little different than what is shown in the video by the time I post it, but right now I'm just going with what I have.  I hope you like it and please let me know of any improvements you can come up with. -Kinetic

Magpul PDR

Here's a project Trauts and I are working on. Trauts still has to fine tune my version. I was actually only going to build the back and firing mechanism and leave the front to trauts and have him mod whatever needed. I just added a front on for the heck of it. Here's what the PDR is I had a video but it wasn't working so I'll just have to explain some of the features for now. This version wasn't made for looks but just to show off the trigger, magazine, and mag release. So understand that this is by far not the final version. Alright to explain some of the features now: - I made a quick adapter for rail accessories from airsoft and maybe real firearms. The adapter can then attach to my K'nex rail. I used this very low quality red dot scope for an example. I wish I had batteries for it so I could at least use it as something more than a viewfinder. -The trigger is complicated looking but it's pretty basic. I took my old bullpup trigger (could probably be used to all kinds of bullpup weapons) and modified it a little so that I wouldn't need such a long barrel. To do this I brought down what normally would be the part you'd pull and placed that early and then made a sliding trigger that pushes that part back. It's actually pretty reliable. -The magazine is a somewhat new design (that or hardly ever used) that is really close in size to real STANAG magazines. The real version doesn't used curved magazines but I decided to make a curved magazine anyways to demonstrate how to make a gently curving magazine for guns like the Magpul Masada. You can lock the mag pusher down if you're using a weak enough rubber band. -The mag release isn't what's used on the real one but it would be impossible to make one like that. This is pretty simple but very effective. It's just a little lever switch that you pull back and the magazine will pop out. You put the magazine in firmly and you should be able to hear it click. It's rock solid when locked into place. I'll show you pictures of it later.

Help with PDR?

Alright, my previous partner, trauts, hasn't shown for quite awhile. I kind of let the project die with him but I remember now just how awesome the real (concept) gun is and I want a K'nex version. Unlike most other guns, it seems like something I can actually build entirely too. I'm falling behind in replicating though, having not made anything big since the over 1.5 year old UMP-45 so Selez, Knexguy, etc. or anyone really, wanna help out? The PDR is a tricky gun because it's a bullpup with limited space in the stock for a firing system. This would require something advanced like either a special bolt action system or perhaps a slingshot? It also has some interesting structures like the back handle brace and entire front grip. Here's a picture of my first try. I was mostly focused on the back part and making it practical as opposed to super realistic. This is more of an example seeing how we'll probably need to completely redesign it. I also provided a picture for the real one (well in drawing form) and a couple of important notes. PM if you're willing to work on this with me. Please, experienced builders only.

Shotgun design (constructive criticism welcome!)

Alright, this is my new shotgun design.  I have been working on it since I decided to get back into K'nex, however, right now I don't have the pieces to build it, so it will remain a concept for now.  It includes a horizontal magazine that I have designed, a pump, and TD's ram.  The ammo will feed into a mechanism similar to that on the zkar, pushing it upward so that it rests on a pusher which is located right below the barrel.  This pusher is externally connected to the rod in the front and is held in the forward position by a rubber band.  When the pump is pulled back, the ram is cocked, and the loading ram is moves back as well, placing the ammo right below the barrel.  When the pump is pushed forward, it pushes the loading ram forward, loading the ammo into the barrel.   Though this model is not proportionate, I think it accurately gets the idea across, and I was hoping you could give me feedback as to what could be wrong with the design, or you can just feel free to tell me how much you love it.  Eventually I plan on adding a stock that houses a bullpup sling mech, using the guide on the ram to act as a pusher for the rear BTS of the sling gun.   I am pretty sure I can pull this off, but I need the pieces first, so feel free to test this concept out and let me know what you think.  Thanks. -Kinetic  * note in the key it says that the green circles are protruding rods, this is a mistake and the blue circles are actually the protruding rods

The Kinetic Rifle V.1

Here it is: the bullpup, tube mag, bolt-action, pump-action, sling semi-repeater.  This is by far my most favorite gun I have ever built.   The reason I call it a "semi-repeater" is because while it has a magazine, loading it involves a two-step process of pulling back the rubber band and then pulling the pump.  Therefore you don't have to load each individual bullet into the barrel by hand, the pump does that for you, but the band still has to be pulled back manually.  The gun was originally intended to have the pump bull back the band as well, but to do so the pullback distance would have to be greater, requiring a larger barrel to house a longer pullback, requiring pieces I just don't have.  When I get the pieces I am going to make the pump pull the band back, and I will post that as the V.2. What I love about this gun is that it takes many concepts and combines them to work in sync with one another.  I also like the fact that there is almost no limit to how powerful you can make this gun, since the ratchet can hold an incredible amount of tension.  Overall it is an incredible gun, averaging ~60ft with the 1 band used in the video.  Though it isn't the most reasonable choice for a war (it only holds 4 shots in the mag and is huge), it is well on its way to becoming the most efficient knex repeater out there. -Kinetic iMovie wrecks.

ideas for k'nex guns

Hey guys ! between if you've heard of me or not, probably not, i really like building k'nex guns, and i have made a few decent guns over the past year. my best gun would be SABR (Sharir170's Amazing Bullpup Rifle, instructions posted), second would be triple S rifle (Sharir1701's Super Sniper, not posted), and third would be a full-auto rifle i haven't named or posted (it works on an amazing new mechanism that i discovered with my friend, but he begged me not to post it, and made me swear, so i can't post it or show it or even explain how it works (major soz)). anyway, i'm plain out of ideas, and i really wanna build some new guns, so if you'd like me to build something, anything, you name it, and i just might build it and post it. you might be asking yourself : why should i do this... i've never heard of this guy, and therefore don't know if he's any good, and he's not a pro member on 'ibles, so he can't send me a patch... all i have to say is that i've never given up on a k'nex goal i've set for myself and i just work on it on and on until i get it. and what you will get from this is the opportunity to build the gun you requested me to design, and get credit for the idea on the 'ible. anyway, if any of you have any good ideas at all, say so and i might build them, no matter how stupid you think they might be.

K'NEX Gun: RSEC (Red's Shell Ejecting Carbine)

Hey guys! Well, here is my most recent project, the RSEC (Shell Ejecting Carbine). The title really explains it all, it is a shell ejecting carbine... of sorts. Technically, the definition of a carbine is a gun that is in rifle form, but shoots pistol / SMG ammunition. This gun does not EXACTLY fit that definition, as it shoots blue rods, which is the K'NEX equivalent of a rifle round, but, all the same, I'm gonna call it a carbine. The thing that perplexed me about this gun is it's pin pull-back length. You see, the pin pull-back length on my K'NEX Gun: Reliable (R3) outdistanced the RSEC's pin-pull length, but I'd bet you that the RSEC would get better range, even without shells. I couldn't really tell you why that is, but, more likely than not, it is a result of the barrel. The R3 has a long barrel, which may mess with the rounds, but this, the RSEC, has no barrel (I.E. the rounds are shot right out of the magazine into the open air). Let that be a lesson to us all, K'NEX barrels are pretty much useless (which may be part of the reason why K'NEX bullpups are no good). Features: Great range: 50 - 70 ft. (even without the shells) Comfortable Everything in the gun is well situated (IMO) Nice 'n short, just like I wanted it Heavily modifiable True-trigger operated Good pull-back-length Hand guard Shoots shell ammunition OR non-shelled ammo -The Red Book of Westmarch

New K'nex ideas and a request.

'Sup people, K'nex.X here, I got something to ask you, does anyone has any ideas for a new K'nex gun? I've practically ran dry and I'd love to have something new to work on. Don't come showing me pictures of models, I'm talking about real innovation like bolt action, lever action and/or semi auto's with a potential range over 30 feet. Next, I got an idea. What if we stop focussing on making models, replicating them as best as we can with the limited forms of k'nex pieces? We could focus on real innovation, the world needs about a 100 more Oblivitus and Kinetic's. Just check it out. Even though most have given up hopes, there are still loads of ideas to improve, perform or make. Take a look at thedunkis' forum topics, Oblivitus' concepts I'ble and Kinetic's mechs. For example, I'm now working on a bullpup, bolt action, horizontal magazine gun. Concepts are far more challenging than replicas. Just try it out for yourself.  Another thing, the veterans left. So stop making a 1001 forum topics about where everybody is, they have left. The future of K'nex guns?

What is the future of K'nex guns? It had literally been almost a year since I had been on this site, and when I came back, I was almost shocked to see that the best guns a year ago are still the best guns today.  There has been almost no improvements or innovations in the past year, and in many cases, the guns have gotten worse.   I really don't want to sound mean but this is a problem.  The only ones that I have seen (and I haven't looked around too thoroughly yet, so correct me if I am wrong) that have created something notably innovative and new are TheDunkis (new ram concept and gun), Zak (swagboss), Knexguy (bullpup bolt action), and Jollex (repeating sling).  And of course there are a few promising new-comers such as Icetank and Ryry.   I just want to encourage you all to at least try to think of something, put it down on paper, let others know, and even try to build it.  And even if there isn't something completely new you can come up with there are still so many things out there that need to be perfected such as pump actions, shotguns, repeating slings, horizontal (tube) mags, etc.  You can even try to combine some for an even more impressive gun. Personally, I think the future of knex guns are in horizontal magazines, as they are very rarely used and there are so many unexplored uses they can be put to.   Hopefully that inspired you to try something new, and if you don't agree with my point of view, prove me wrong!  Show me something that you've made that will amaze us.  I am simply trying to inspire a new year of knex guns.   So, what do you think the future of knex guns is?

Will replicate any gun*

Yup you give me a gun and I will replicate it* I just don't know what to build but I really need something to post NOW! I'm trying to build my rep up even more so I'm hoping to have at least 10 replicated guns before the end of this summer. Please leave me a good picture of the gun or a link to it. I have the right to reject any gun that I feel I either dislike (miniguns) are too simple (sten) or too complex (uh...insert some very complex weapon here)*will not make anything that involves explosives unless I feel like having an extra grenade launcher or something. I have enough pieces to make most weapons but still limited so nothing big. I will also not make a random gun with just requested features it has to be a real gun.Edit: To encourage people to vote for a gun I'm going to list the features I hope to include in the gun if I do make it.~List of guns~SAW-1 I'll try adding a chain either for actual loading or most likely looks not sure what else yet.M1 Garand-2 I'll probably try a similar loading style.MP5-1 Detacheable mag plus extendable stock.FN F9000-2 (just one more vote) Bullpup design and...well I'm not sure what elseDragunov-1 Detacheable mag and I'm not sure what else but there will be more. You may either place one vote or add your own. I'm only taking 2 more requests bofore you have to vote on one of the choices. If you vote for someone's idea then please post so in a reply to their weapon so I can keep track of how many people voted for it.I'll probably hold this topic until one of the guns (or an new suggested gun) gets 3 votes so hopefully it won't be too long. Then I'll build the next to reach 3 and so on. New guns will be able to replace the old ones in the list that get built.

Oodassault 4 Prototype

Well, here's my first attempt at making my V4. It's packed with features but unfortunately it isn't reliable yet so DON'T BUILD IT! I'm probably going to end up having to totally modify it to work so I wanted to get a picture before I ended up destroying it without hopes of getting it to work. Anywho, I don't care for block pistols but after giving it a shot, it's much easier to incorporate things like a pinlock this way. I'll start listing off the features because I don't want my entire picture to be comprised of yellow boxes. Starting at back working to the front: 1. Uses a new pin concept that I've been working with. There's a red connector connected to the pin, and then the yellows are connected as show to absorb the force. In theory, this should mean that because the force isn't transferred to the connection of the pin and the band holder, it shouldn't require any sort of other force suppressors to keep the pin in. However, it does make a loud clap so I'm probably going to try adding rubber bands around the connectors (but not around the pin) to quiet it. 2. I finally added a pin lock. I'm bleh on it though as it requires a broken orange in the barrel (I just have these pieces "naturally' so I figured most K'nexers would) and a band to ensure it works, but it works nonetheless and it adds almost no friction from the way it's on. 3. I stole KSC's idea for wheels. I'm not sure how much it'll help but I figured, eh, it doesn't hurt. 4. It uses the bullpup trigger idea from my PDR so that I can have a more compact weapon with good power. 5. The handle is from my new UMP and was added to give a more comfortable angle. It also is three layers with no white rods needed. It's decent as far as comfort goes. 6. Finally, it has a tilting mag that's right in front of the handle, so it's easy to access. The problem is I need to make a better pusher and figure out a lock for the new pusher. I think the barrel is part of it because I went back to the old blue rod style. The gun isn't reliable at all. 7. Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention that I'm experimenting with adjustable sights. I didn't make adjustable sights for this gun, per se, but rather I added multiple folding sights that are at the same height, taller than the front sight. This means that the closer the rear sight you use, the more of an angle the gun has. I doubt this'll be useful at all but there was room so I just threw them in there much like the wheels. And that's that. The feel of the weapon is pretty nice. It's balanced. But yeah, that's all I've got to say.

Some random guns I never displayed on ibles

Alright, so I never really worried about it before, but I figured I'd show them now. These are a bunch of old weapons that I had at KI or KA but never bothered showing here. There's nothing huge that you've missed out on, but you might see something you never knew was done before. 1. This was in a video so you guys probably saw it, but I don't think I ever put pictures here. This is one of the first (don't know how many, if any, others there were) horizontal magazine guns. It loaded dark greys with green rods. I have tried making a more compact version for a while but I could never get one to load as reliably. 2. I guess this was the precursor to the BAW. I honestly forgot about it until now. Basically, before I figured out SK's removable magazine concept but after I learned how to make a decent magazine for yellows, I tried making a shelled-round gun with removable magazines. It had a really crude way of attaching but it worked. It fired very well, actually. But the shells didn't want to eject so you had to manually eject them. It was too crude of a weapon so I never kept working with it. I have tried making other shelled-round weapons but none have quite pleased me. 3. This is probably one of the more interesting ones. With my trigger concept that I loved so much, I tried making a bullpup bolt action. It worked I guess, but it had bad range because the trigger required I made a barrel up to it. I could've vastly improved this by using the PDR trigger, but I figured out, well one I didn't have the pieces and two the stock would be uncomfortably long if I did. 4. I don't know if I showed this here. I had thread on KI for it, though. It was my attempt at a Thompson M1A1. Bleh, it was very crude but I figured I'd show it anyways. 5. Here comes an assortment of assault pistols I worked on while at KA. I have notes written on them so apparently I brought them over here, but I don't remember where I may have displayed them, so I'll post them anyways. The first is a "revolver" using the redone concept by oompa on his revolver. 6. This one was a redo of the first one I mad a long time ago. Back before oodammo but after the TDS and all other side arms were being overdone, assault pistols were pretty much the new fad, and it became my obsession for a while to make the perfect one after seeing bitz's. This one fired blue rods. It's funny looking at it now, I could easily make one better in so many ways if I didn't care about using plain magazines. 7. This was my last one (not counting the revolver, which was done for kicks 'n' giggles) before oodammo. I tossed the blue rod magazine in favor of a removable, internal pusher darkgrey+green rod magazine. Lol, looking at this thing now...I was happy with the magazine at the time back when detachables weren't entirely common. So yeah, that's all I can find for now. You guys are welcome to dig around and see if you can't find something you've never shown before.

So...who is still here? Vet roll call + free concepts

Actually, I don't feel like asking for names specifically, as I don't remember everyone and some people would probably be offended if I forgot them. So, just reply to this topic if you've been here long enough that you've arguably established yourself a place in the community. I won't put any standards on that. Judge for yourself but be realistic if you wanna consider yourself a veteran. I want to know who is still here. I want to try kickstarting K'nex gunning back up again (ironic that it's me doing it) because I have plenty of ideas, fair amount of time, but little pieces. Basically I'm going to collaborate with whoever is still here and interested in my ideas. I'm hoping a decent rush of innovation will get old vets reinterested and perhaps inspire new K'nexers. If you're wanting to take on any of these projects below, let me know and I'll discuss with you them in full detail and provide whatever help I can. Otherwise, I'm leaving it to you to build them. -Improved shotgun concept. Look at Foofy's take on my concept and improve it further. I'm thinking of pump action and a large hopper. Make it bottom mounted so a higher powered weapon can be used on top -Controllable fully automatic sling gun. This would be revolutionary if we could get it to work. The potential is there, we just need to figure out how to unleash it. I've already talked enough about it, someone must be interested. -Pump action, pseudo semi auto turret. This would be somewhat complicated but still doable. Think of a gatling gun combined with the K-sayer. Each pump would cock and rotate a barrel. So you could then prepare a number of shots beforehand and then fire them all in succession. All of the above are potential war weapon candidates so I was figuring people would be more willing to give them a shot. If you're looking strictly for innovation or fun then: -Crossbow pistol. I always wanted to give it a shot but never could do it. Make it handlefed. It was going to be a candidate for my ultimate side arm back when I was still going through my TDS phase but now it would be purely for the sake of fun. -Automatic gun prop. I figured this might be interesting. Basically, make a gun that doesn't shoot but rather it ejects "shells" from the ejection port and fires either semi or fully automatically. I'm thinking you could make a rack and pinion system to drive the ejection port (which when opened would let the "shell" fly out) that's hooked up to a motor or a rubber band powered gear. It might not be as fun making something that doesn't fire but it'd be a challenge and something new. -Dual/triple stack magazine. Interestingly enough, this one is more challenging than it should be. Basically make a 3 layered magazine and then try to get it to feed into a single stack. Make it removable. The idea here is that it would have a larger capacity. It probably wouldn't be too practical, though. -Dual stockrail gun. Well, this could probably be a decent war weapon but it'd be somewhat complicated. It would combined several concepts into one gun. Make a rail gun with two rails in the stock of the weapon for extra strength with less length. Your choice of what it loads from. -Bullpup repeating sling. This has actually been made before. I know I got Jollex to make one at least. None of them seemed quite good enough, though. Add crossbow limbs and a magazine that accepts finned rounds and you've got yourself a pretty BA weapon. -Side folding stock. It's very doable, just annoying. If you could set up a hinge in a sixth layer that connects the stock and the gun, it wouldn't be much of a problem figuring out the rest. The problem is how to make that hinge. Eh, I'll come up with more. I'm regaining my memory. I kept most of my ideas in the dark and forgot about them. >_<
