attiny85 on two 3v coin cell batteries?

I've seen specs for attiny85 that say 6v, but most say 5.5v max, so I'm wondering if it's safe to use two 3v coin cell batteries to power them?  Such as CR2032 or CR2450.  I would only use one, but I need 4.5v for my LEDs.  Three AA is too bulky.  Thanks.

Coin Segregation Designs - Can anyone Help?

Hey Guys... Need your advise on this. from coin slot to coin segregation, so what do you think? - I plan on using ARDUINO UNO - Mainly i have thought of 2 Designs on how to do the separation of coins when it comes out of the coin slot. I have included images so you can see the my ideas. - for the 1st one (three shutters in alignment with the path of the coin), when a specific coin is detected the corresponding shutter will open. - for the 2nd one (using One Motor), when a specific coin is detected it rotates to a specific and programmed angle. - p.s. it would be most efficient if anyone can suggest how can i make the shutters in the first design reverse rotate to set it back into position. - What do you think is more Economical, Efficient, and above all much easier to do of the two? - Need your suggestions/advise/comments/recommendations on this. What do you recommend on the 2 designs? - if so, what motors can i use?

Can you make/program your own multi-coin acceptor?

Hey everyone! I need help with this certain project of mine. I bought this coin acceptor and turns out it can only accept a certain type of coin based on it's diameter. The problem is I need a multi-coin acceptor that can accept three types of coin which I will then hook up to a PLC. Tried looking for one over the net (Ebay and other sites) and I couldn't find anything. I also tried looking for some locally (I'm from a 3rd world country) and didn't find anything either. Any type of help will be useful. Thank you in advance!

Nordic Gold Answered

I'm planning on making a ring out of a coin. I'll use Euro coins. 1, 2 e 5 Eurocent coins are made of copper covered steel and are too small, so I think they won't be a good choice. 1 and 2 Euro coins are the right size, but it seems that they are made of alloys containing nickel, that may cause allergy. So I think I'll use a 50 Eurocent coin, that is made of Nordic Gold, an alloy (89% copper, 5% aluminium, 5% zinc, and 1% tin). Has anyone ever made a ring out of Nordic Gold? Did it cause allergy or stain your finger?   Did it tarnish? Is it malleable? Thanks

There is one dime dated 1907.  I have one Morgan dollar-date 1917.  I have several buffalo nickels.  I have the following silver quarters: 1952' 1954, 1947, 1942, (2) 1943, 1956, 1941, 1946, 1944, 1942, 1954, 1963, 1961, 1957, 1950, 1944, 1960, 1924, 1907, 1951, 1964, 1936, 1955.  I have several silver dimes, nickels, and quarters where the date has been rubbed off.  I have not "clean" the coins or "polished."  I would just like a "ballpark" amount of the coins I have....

Coin Slot to Arduino... Need Help. What to do?

Hey guys, been doing one of the project in instructables w/c is this https://www.instructables.com/id/Make-Money-with-Arduino/ Interfacing a Coin Slot to a Arduino. Read and done the instructions provided in the project. But there seems to be a problem bec. i can't seem to get the desired output. I have a Coin Slot w/c was already set to 3 different types of coins (P1, P5.00, P10.00)(Philippine Coins) Set it up according to the instructions of the project, "COIN" white wire connected to pin2 (interrupt pin 0) of the arduino, common ground connection of the arduino and the coin slot (12V), and for an easy way to see the output i put up 3 LEDs on pin8, pin9, and pin10. This is the code i used, (modified)(original comments still there) -- const int coinInt = 0; //Attach coinInt to Interrupt Pin 0 (Digital Pin 2). Pin 3 = Interrpt Pin 1. volatile float coinsValue = 0.00; //Set the coinsValue to a Volatile float //Volatile as this variable changes any time the Interrupt is triggered int coinsChange = 0; int OneLed = 8; int FiveLed = 9; int TenLed = 10; //A Coin has been inserted flag void setup() {   pinMode(OneLed, OUTPUT);   pinMode(FiveLed, OUTPUT);   pinMode(TenLed, OUTPUT);   Serial.begin(9600);                 //Start Serial Communication      attachInterrupt(coinInt, coinInserted, RISING);   //If coinInt goes HIGH (a Pulse), call the coinInserted function //An attachInterrupt will always trigger, even if your using delays } void coinInserted()    //The function that is called every time it recieves a pulse {   coinsValue = coinsValue + 1;  //As we set the Pulse to represent 5p or 5c we add this to the coinsValue   coinsChange = 1;                           //Flag that there has been a coin inserted } void loop() {   if(coinsChange == 1)          //Check if a coin has been Inserted   {    if (coinsValue == 1)     {        digitalWrite(OneLed, HIGH);        delay(1000);        digitalWrite(OneLed, LOW);     }     else if (coinsValue == 5)     {        digitalWrite(FiveLed, HIGH);        delay(1000);        digitalWrite(FiveLed, LOW);     }     else if (coinsValue == 10)     {        digitalWrite(TenLed, HIGH);        delay(1000);        digitalWrite(TenLed, LOW);     } //Print the Value of coins inserted   coinsChange = 0;   } } -- Rather than using microsoft express, i wanted to use simple LEDs on pin8, pin9, and pin10 to indicate if the program read the input correctly. after doing the wiring, and coding in the arduino, i tested to see if it would work. NONE of the LEDs light up after inserting coins on the coinslot. Need Help! :X

I want to make my own change sorter/counter.....

I'd like to make a change sorter/counter that I can use with my PC to figure out how much money I have in some 5 gallon buckets of change that we gathered while cleaning some old fountains. (Yes, they said we could have what we found under all the gunk as long as we got the fountains clean and back to working order.) I want to be able to dump some coins in a sorter/counter and have my PC tell me how much there is in a given bucket of change. I don;t want to use estimating techniques like calculating the approximate number of coins of a given type by average known weight of the coins. I want an actual tally - a count - of all coins of each type and unknown coins (slugs). Any ideas?

Circuit that emulate a push button

Hello Everyone! I'd like to ask your help in making this circuit. I want to make a simple circuit that emulates a push button switch: When powered on, the circuit will trigger a switch. When powered off, it will trigger the switch again. I'm thinking of using this for my home made coin operated PC. There are various options for the coin operated PCs from shutting off the monitor or keyboard & mouse to software triggered. But I'm thinking of using the stand-by or sleep option of the motherboard. My current setup is a coin slot that is connected to a timer circuit. When coin is inserted the timer is activated and a relay will turn on. I want to put the circuit to this relay output and connected to the pwr button of the PC. Hoping for your assistance,

Online Game Recemendations

I have 2 games (and a half), first: runescape.com this is an adventer MMORPG. You battle different types and levels of monsters and characters. You can strive to be the richest or to be the strongest. Second: hflhotel.4t.com this is a habbohotel.com fan site with its own habbo like interface. You log in and you automaticly get 800,000 free coins. In habbohotel.com you have to buy you're coins for 10 cents a coin. That can add up! 50 coins is $10, so I recomend what they call, a retro habbo. (I am sorry... this website had been moved to a different server or deleted. I am sad too) In a half: habbohotel.com I dont recomend this game unless you have 500 dollars laying in a dust gathering pile in you're tool shed or you will have the least of fun!

Why does a matchstick light up when one places a coin on a plasma globe, uses a paper clip to hover around the coin while holding the matchstick alongside the paper clip? (note the video does not use a matchstick, but it still applies the same concept)

Coilgun? Induction? Or something else? Answered

Hi, There video above shows a simple coilgun like device that shoot coins. In my understanding, it looks like a simple induction Coilgun design, since it repel coin away from the coil instead shoot the coin through the middle. However I have a hard time replicate the result. I use the same camera with the same capacitor (350V), and also use penny for the non magnetic projectile. Its the coil part I'm not sure about. In the video, it looks like a relevantly messy and small coil. Can anyone suggest me on the coil design for the same result? Most resources I found are either on reduction design or base on coilgun design instead this simple shooting mechanism. Thanks

Coin a phrase, or one liner

Have you ever wonder were, phrases come from like  " That's what she said " or  "See you later.......not if I see you first" or "Well, there's your problem!" I think i may of coined a phrase, but of course I can't prove it  " Its funny cause its true"   I even heard it on TV the other night, I have been saying that for years. Anyways today after a student made a mess I gave him a mop and bucket and told him to clean it up. After 20 minutes I came back and he had managed to make the mess about 100 times worse. I was very annoyed with him and I was inspired to say  "Never send an idiot to do a job a monkey could do" Anyway there is, If it takes off I will now have proof that i said it first on 20 april 2016 So whats your favorite phrase or one liner?  Maybe you could come up with the next "That's what she said!"

Magnetic Levetation? A Magnet Levitating between two Bismuth plates?

I am trying to make a magnet levitate between two bismuth plates that i made (picture 3,4,5 and 6). As you can see they are round discs about 7mm (millimeters) thick and 110 mm or 11cm (centimeters) in diameter. I bought two magnets; -the one I am trying to make levitate is 30mm (millimeters) in diameter, 10mm thick, and 22kg (kilograms) strong... -the other that is on top, the one that is pulling the magnet up is 30mm in diameter, 15mm thick and 23kg strong I put my two plates of bismuth so that there is about 25mm of space between them... Than I put in the 30mm x 10mm magnet that I want to levitate inside. The other magnet is located above the setup. I very slowly, ever so carefully start to lower the magnet. The magnet between the two bismuth plates starts to shake and at one point hits the top bismuth plate. I can't make it to levitate, either it is on the bottom plate or on the top. I tried to make the space between two bismuth plates smaller and larger, to lower the magnet by a very small amount...it didn't help... PROBLEM: I can't make it levitate, either it is on the bottom bismuth plate or on the top... WHY IS THIS? HOW CAN I FIX IT AND MAKE IT LEVITATE? Thank you for your help! -Stanislav A.K.A. Comodore

Using wire glue seems a bit amateurish, but i have tried soldering to batteries and it does not seem to be the best way to go. also that can damage the batteries i have a few projects right now, such as an fm transmitter powered by 2 coin cells and there is no room for a battery holder... (pcb i made needs to be super tiny) so wire glue? glue the 2 coin cells together, then 2 wires, and seal the whole thing in hot glue and/or duct tape... also need this to work for AA and AAA cells for future projects...
