I think that there should be more instructables on magic tricks

I really like this television show. The masked magician show how to do great tricks and illusions. I even did some at school. Like levitating, walking on water, cutting someone in half and the wine and needle trick. Do you like it ? or what do you think ?

The quest for the most ridiculous personal transportation continues with this bizarre merging of a rollerblade, a bicycle, and a penny farthing. If you want one you'll have to get it shipped from Singapore for $580 so if you really want to try it out I'd guess that you could make it for less than $50 worth of spare parts. Anyone interested? Hi there. I have several thousand Magic the gathering cards, possibly over 10k at this point, that I don't really need. I was thinking about giving my room a nice blue tone by covering the walls with them, but I don't think I have quite enough blue cards for that. So at this point I'm kind of just wondering what I COULD do with them. A nice thing about them is that I have 30-40 of many of the same cards, so if I want a large patch of the same color for some reason, it's possible. For those that don't know, Magic cards are the size of a normal playing card, but about twice as thick and have detailed fantasy art on them. Primary colors used are blue, green, red, black, and white.

Is Criss Angell a fake? Let me see a show of cursors! I already well know how most of his tricks are perfored, and they are so dumb! In "Walk on Water", they put plexiglass over one section of the pool. The girl says she swam right under him, but she couldn't have swam around him because of the plexiglass. That is why she went under. In "Steamrolled" they dig out a trench so he fits safely under the big wheels. And the broken glass? Oh that's real. I know many others, but my hands are cramping from typing.

Check out this mix of augmented reality with old-fashioned magic for a cool combination. Augmented reality involves processing a video stream and adding extra visual effects to what is happening in real time. Very much worth a look. via Make blog

Okay, so I've been friggin bored as hell this week, the park is surrounded by security and police so I can't blow up, or go shooting or anything. (No one got killed though, it's just a bunch of noise.) So I'm planning of doing an instructable of one of my old hobbies, but I'm still deciding which would be more intresting. What would you prefer? Bonsai trees Sushi or some magic tricks?

I'm planning a mystery dinner party. There will be a postage stamp on display. I have a way to trigger a lights-out remotely (just by plugging the lamps into a remote-control switch). During the blackout, which will last a few seconds until I can "find the fuse box," the stamp needs to disappear. I could of course just walk over and steal it myself, but I'm looking for other suggestions. Print the stamp with some kind of ink that will vanish if hit with a camera flash? Some sort of motor-and-string attachment that could pull the stamp into a hidden chamber in the display case?

Being a HUGE ponies fan I've taken a note to all the recent and cool projects being put out by bronies on sites like EquestriaDaily.com and thought it appropriate to give bronies a place to post all these and compile them together. Here's your place to post 'ibles on ponies! :D -AdmiralCubie (theconstructionofart.blogspot.com)

Hi.I just started a group to share instructables involving the use of a Magic Bullet Mixer. I love this gadget and I would like to use this group to collect and share recipes with everyone. When I have some time, I'll post some instructables describing how to make crepes, watermelon daiquiris and even hot chocolate. But in the mean time I was hoping some people would add their own recipes to get the ball rolling. Here's the URL to the group page: https://www.instructables.com/group/mbm/Thanks.

For those people that arent familar with magic cards they are collecter as well as playing cards that you can collect and what i intend to make a mosaic out of the art from these cards. the idea is a 29 by 47 tile mosaic (of a face) which will probably be rather big, the tiles will be approx 2 1/16 inches (5.24 cm) by 1 9/16 inches (3.97 cm) so that will make the whole art work about 1.52m by 1.87m. so there will be the tiles all creating this picture and then i want to put a clear plastic sheet over the top (havent decided if i want it pivoted at the top of to have it completely stuck down but it is not really the problem). I would like to know of suitable methods for glueing each of the tiles as well as what to glue them too as well as bracing of the art to keep it straight and flat and all that, be it made of wood or anything nothing is a problem metal to some extent but yeah any ideas because what i have so far is the tiles ready to be cut and no way to stick them and no idea what to stick them too. any help would be appreciated and thank you in advance :)

Hi, i play this card game "Mtg" and my fun decks are huge! (100-900 cards). Ive been tring to make my own card shoe / dispenser (a bit like those Casino Poker holders) which can hold lots of cards, but also be flexible enough to accomodate lots of cards, or less as the deck gets played out etc. I tried with a bottle of wine Cardboard box container, but am not sure how to make it stronger, or what do do. I could just go out and buy a plastic casino one but thought it would be cool to try and make one :) all advise and help and comments etc welcome. thanks, Pabloman (btw when i get my digital camera back i'll post some decks so you can see what i mean.) :)

Hi guys, I'm hoping someone can help direct a complete newbie. I'm a magician trying to build a gadget that looks like a steampunky-science-device. I'm working on a routine like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTikFSOBIA8 If you go to the 09:00 mark you'll see it in action. I bought the instructional DVD from the man in the video which supposedly includes instructions on making the gadget, but although he explains the flash-paper-ignition part clearly he doesn't even touch on how to make the lights and sound. I'm fine with woodworking, soldering etc. but I have no clue what pieces I need to buy to make flashing lights, squeally squawky adjustable sounds etc. If anyone can tell me what parts I need and how to string them together, or where to go to find suitable instructions, I'd be very grateful.

Hi everyone, I'm new here to this forum site but I wanted to share an idea I've been kicking around for a while now. I'm a huge fan of the Fantasy vs Science Fiction debate and often like to combine certain elements from each into one another (ie Spell Casting Robots, Steampunk Wizards, etc). One of the staple elements of any Fantasy work is the iconic Wizard's Duel, when two magical wielders face off against one another using a combination or various spells, attacks and magic. Now, I've always been interested in the kinds of sports/ competitions that focus scientific and engineering minds (robot battles). So I devised one of my own today, just something I think would be really interesting to watch. It's sort of like a modern day resurrection of medieval duels, but instead of weapons the duelers use inventions. Engineer's Duel Overview: Two inventors face off, each utilizing different inventions they've built to best their opponent, and eventually destroy them (or at least incapacitate). The purpose of the battle is to test the wits, intelligence, strategy and inventing skills of each of the duelers. The goal is not to destroy the opponent, but instead their chosen gadgets until yours is the last one surviving. Rules: 1) No Robots. This fight should be between the duelers themselves, not their robotic minions. 2) No Direct Weapons Allowed (devices that serve no other purpose except as a weapon). Eg no guns, swords, canons, etc. The purpose of the duel is not about how powerful an invention one can build, but how inventive it is and how well the dueler uses it. 3) Each invention chosen by the duelers must be used at least once in the fight. 4) No EMPs, for obvious reasons 5) Vehicular machines such as Tumblers, Mech Warriors, and Giant Hovercrafts are allowed but only in the National Primaries. Other than this, if you can build it, you can use it. So yeah tell me what you think!

Hi,I'd like to see an example of doing something like this magic cube:http://www.mathematische-basteleien.de/magiccube.htmThe instructions are at the website but I'd love to see photos or a movie or something that helps me along. It makes a great toy/gift. I've done some that worked out well... and others that flopped. I'd love to see a visual of the steps in the process. This project isn't dangerous at all, except to your sanity, you'll feel like your in kindergarten again, playing with blocks. Thanks!

I recently went to build the Little Gem guitar amp from runoffgroove.com. Its a great little amp from what i have read. I made the basic heart of it so far. I have the four caps, resistor, IC socket, and its all connected. I think basically all thats on the breadboard for the PCB layout here: http://runoffgroove.com/littlegem.html(scroll down). I'm confused on where to put the two pots and connect power and all that. I don't have the gain pot yet, but i do have the 25 ohm rheostat. The rheostat has three prongs, would i use the middle leg for the "out" part and the other two for the other part? I can't seem to get it. Also, is there a common ground between the input from the guitar, the 9v battery, volume pot, and output? Help please!Update:I found a layout on Flickr that explains it, i think. See the third picture.

Hey, I'm sure you've read some of my other foundry questions and comments, so here's another. I have been using this with charcoal briquettes for quite some time now, and finally built a burner to convert to propane. I made my first melt with it earlier, and I don't think I'll ever switch back, no matter how high propane gets (price). I built a burner according to the instructions here, and it turned out fine, except that the flame won't leave the burner tube completely. It fits pretty well in my helium tank foundry/furnace (a .gif on how I made it is below), heating it up to melting temps on full blast in probably <10 minutes. It is SO much cleaner, easier to make multiple melts( no refilling charcoal), and is alot quicker in starting and finishing a melt (no setting up blowers, positioning charcoal, and that stuff). It was (at first) an easy choice to go with charcoal (cheap, could even be made for free), but after a couple melts, the fun got replaced by work, and I stopped melting metal. I discovered propane, built my burner for $35 total(including regulator) and was up and running within a day. ~$20 for a refill on propane when I run out is COMPLETELY worth it. Sorry if this seems kinda persuasive, but I am trying to help either people on this site, or one of the countless wanderers from Google. Some pictures of my testing (not my burning setup) setup are below.

The machine shop I work for had this "great" idea about 10 years ago. Wouldn't it be nice if you could pedal backwards on your bicycle and still go forward? It's like 2 things in one! Not as glamorous as it sounds. So I'm getting rid of some old parts to various "Super Gear" projects including the Magic Freewheel, an Aluminum bike frame, and if you really wanted them I an go dig out some of the old gears in storage too. Make an offer if you want something. We can ship UPS.

I was playing Call of Duty 4, and there was a part in the game where a S.A.S agent used some kind of aerosol spray that made the part of the fence that he sprayed brittle and was easily removed. I have never heard of anything in my comings and goings in chemistry that matches this, but according to the game developers they say every weapon is real. Has anyone heard of a spray or anything like this?

Hi everyone, It's my first time posting to this forum, so I hope I'm posting in the right section. Please go easy on me: ) I'm looking to make a genie costume similar to ModMischief's awesome construction. That is her costume pictured below. I have not made the carpet section yet, so it can be altered to fit any plans for what I am trying to accomplish. https://www.instructables.com/id/Genie-on-a-Flying-Carpet/ I would like the flying carpet to be a little different though. I am trying to create a simple mechanism that will give the carpet some movement. I want it to mimic the up/down wave motion as if the carpet is actually flying mid air. Can anyone suggest something that would get me going in the right direction for ideas? I will have a 2nd person with me that could assist me once the costume is on, if there is some kind of crank mechanism that would work. Any ideas are appreciated!

I'm interested in building a box to perform this illusion on the relatively-cheap. Granted, there are many ways of performing this illusion; I'd like to build one that doesn't require two women but uses fake legs instead. I don't need help with the fake legs.
