Does anyone know when they announce the winners? The earth justice judging ended before ours, but hasn't been announced yet. Does anyone know what the typical waiting time is?

Before you vote... Voting begins in less than an hour, and all the entries look great. But before you vote, I encourage everyone to remember the purpose of this contest. To make a gift for our deserving moms. While some of the entries are really awesome instructables and good examples of sewing, they are not exactly something I would give my mom as a gift. Remember the spirit of the contest, and get out there and vote!

Hello, I recently played some earthbound, and found it to be fantastic. So, I know there are some hardcore EB* fans out there, just gonna say, I'm not one of them. So, really I made this for people to chat about EB and discuss problems they have in the game. So, say,"Fuzzy pickles"! *EarthBound

For those who might not know it, or care ;-) Mother Earth News has an archive of DIY projects online. And don't just think it's a bunch of hippie green projects because of the source, check out this project or this. The only down side is that in many cases the diagrams are not available, but that just frees you to use your own methods.

Hi all, Yesterday, my grandma gave me an old telephone. My mother used it as a toy, so my grandfather disconnected the wires (for safety). I wanted to connect the phone, but I don't know which connections I need. I attached some photo's to make the situation clear. It would be great if you could help me! Arnout P.S.: English is not my mother tongue so it would be fantastic if you didn't use a vocabulary that's too difficult ;)

Hello All I started a Kickstarter Campaign to get funding to product a waterproof cookbook, of 10 of my favorites canning recipes that I do every summer and fall. I want to share this with beginners. I need backers for the campaign. I also need to know if this is a good concept. Waterproof page printing is pretty expensive, but it pays off in the long run. Here is my link for the Kickstarter campaign - only 23 days to go................. http://kck.st/1f4a5EI

Kitewife has just handed me a shiny new copy of Unseen Academicals, by The Man Himself.Back in a few hours...UPDATEI'm back, and here is my favourite passage, which I can also post with spoiling anything:[He] took a sip of his beer. 'I have told this to few people, gentlemen, and I suspect never will again, but one day when I was a young boy on holiday ... I was walking along the bank of a stream when I saw a mother otter with her cubs. A very endearing sight, I am sure you will agree, and even as I watched, the mother otter divd into the water and came up with a plump salmon, which she subdued and dragged on to a half-submerged log. As she ate it, while of course it was still alive, the body split and I remember to this day the sweet pinkness of its roes as they spilled out, much to the delight of the baby otters who scrambled over themselves to feed on the delicacy. One of nature's wonders, gentlemen: mother and children dining on mother and children. And that's when I first learned about evil. It is built into the very nature of the universe. Every world spins in pain. If there is any kind of supreme being, I told myself, it is up to all of us to become his moral superior'.

On my computor, I found a poem I wrote when I was in 3rd grade! Here it is: Bother Oh the people you bother, You sister, your father, Your brother, Your mother, And they always say, "GO OUT AND PLAY!!" And I say no "What if it'll snow?" No one will know Until the next day. Oh the people you bother, Your sister, your father, You brother, Your mother, And they leave the room. So I take out the vacuum. I sucked up their cheeks, and I sucked up their nose, I went outside and squirt them with a hose. And then they say, "GO OUT AND PLAY!!!" And I say no "What if it will snow?" No one, no thee, No more than three, Will know until the next day. I guess it's pretty good for a 3rd grader!

My mother is having her screws and plates removed from her shattered ankle, and I really want to turn them into something beautiful that she can keep forever. Does anyone have ideas for creative uses of these implants? I've been searching the internet for ideas, but no one seems to do something with these (or at least they don't write about it).

Our grade school is hosting a mother/son night in March. Our theme is sports and movies. This year the kids will visit 10-12 booths. I have been assigned to do 2. The creative side of me is excited while the other, less appealing side of me says...just survive. I need ideas how to make it work. I was appointed to do a Nerf booth and a another one- which I think they decided on cupstackers. (heard of those?) With Nerf, I don't have anything specific as to what to do in the booth only that I should plan to be there. Last year they shot the guns at jungle animals, getting points for each successful hit. Because of the movie theme with sports, I was hoping to combine a movie with the sports, as many of the booths already have it. Fishing booth has Finding Nemo and so on. I would love to do something with Harry Potter and quidditch. Or How to Train your Dragon. ~ ideas, thoughts?

Well apparently my mother dropped my cellphone, now when you turn it on, the screen lights up, but it's blank, it vibrates when I turn it on because it was on vibrate before (startup sound). But it won't do anything else, I tried changing the ringer, hitting buttons, and it didn't make any sounds. Display cable popped out? Any ideas? -Punk

So--I just joined this site recently and have been having a hard time finding backpacking instructables (Except alcohol stoves, obviously).I know there are backpackers on here. I've seen them. But there's very little in the way of skills or homemade gear. Am I just not finding it?I'm thinking of starting a guide for it, maybe a group. If there's one already, let me know.

It is with great sadness that I share the news of hatsuli, author of the Build a Nintendo NES PC, dying this August. He suffered from cancer for almost two years. His mother wrote to tell me that he was a great fan of the site and visited it everyday. hatsuli was a runner-up in the Use It Again! contest for his Nintendo PC, which is currently rated among the top 1% of all Instructables.
