I was trying to get onto Instructables on my PS3 earlier, but all I got was an error message. The error says: 403 Forbidden Request forbidden by administrative rules. Is this site not allowed to work on the PS3, or is the Ps3 blocking it for some reason. ~thanks

So guys, I was wondering there is any way to use a wired Xbox 360 on a PS3, without any adapter? Maybe unlocking the PS3? Searching the web I found some ways to use the Xbox controller on a PS3, but all of them have to use an adapter.

Kotaku: MGS4 Has 90-Minute CutscenesWTF?Hey Kojima, this is a game, not some crap anime show or movie. Tell the characters to shut up already. Jeez.Super long cutscenes...they remind me why I don't buy Japanese games anymore. And that reminds me why I don't buy Japanese consoles anymore.

I know that its possible to get a ps3 running Linux, turning it into a fully functional computer. And some people say that it will make a good gaming computer, but the hardware doesnt seem to meet the requirements, only 325 mb of RAM when most games require 6gb. Will a ps3 be a good gaming computer running linux, or is it only good for gaming as a console?

It's always a treat to see what Ben Heck has been up to and his latest device, a PS3 laptop, is no exception. Just plug it in and you'll be up and gaming in no time with its own 17″ 720p HDMI display. As always, the whole thing is custom and if you have a project you'd like him to do he says he can "make the time." See also: Commodore 64 Laptop New PS3 Slim Laptop via TechEBlog

I lost a good portion of my left hands fingers in a workshop accident 3 months ago. I just recently picked up my controller and tried to play. I have one inch left on my index finger and 1 1/2" left on my middle finger...those L1/L2 shoulder buttons are a PITA to reach. Can I somehow mod my controller to move the buttons counterclockwise so they are more on the left side of the controller near the D-Pad? For the PS3 I can probably buy a USB mod stick and use the XBox One controller but the PS4 has the touch area smack dab in the middle of the controller. I have a bunch of spare parts/controllers for the PS3 / PS4 that I bought...in case I needed to mod my buttons. Any ideas?

Hi again iables, I want to build a oil submersable ps3 and have a few questions, 1. Will the oil degrade the silicone on a glass fish tank and cause a leak? 2. How do i extend the power and eject buttons off the motherboard? 3. How do i extend all other wires for the hard drive, power supply, bluray drive, hard disk drive and any i have missed? 4. What would be the best way to stop wicking in the wires from slowly emptying the oil? 5. Would any normal pc case cooling fans be ok to circulate the oil or would they burn out from the extra current draw? 6. Would a normal overhead fish tank filter be ok to use as a diy radiator pump? 7. Would this prevent the dreaded YLOD as iv already had it twice and fixed it myself, with relative success (about 2 months or 100ish hours), and this time im going to oven bake instead of heat gun as this method is rumoured to provide the best results, anyway i hope because of the even cooling provided by the oil bath, then it would keep it much cooler than air cooling? 8. What about using themoelectric cooling pads with huge heatsinks to provide extra cooling? 9. Would the wireless and bluetooth antenna's need to be extended or would they be ok submersed? i thought radio signals were blocked by water so is oil the same? If they do, how would i go about this? 10. Where would i buy mineral oil? I heard that Johnsons baby oil would work? 11. Could i use something similar to an undergravel filter in a fish tank to generate circulation if a pump head wont work? 12. What metal piping should i use for a diy radiator as i heard that mineral oil is very good at dissolving some things and im worried that the contamination may cause conductivity? I think that's it... if not ill add more when i think of them, many thanks in advance for any help!?

Hello my name is Charlie, I write from Peru and have some doubts about Drums for PS3 with Rock Band 3. Buy generic drums locally and is identical to the product of China (http://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/iEMfIyBYj?af=130194941), turn on the PS3 with Rock Band 3, connect the wireless receiver and select PS / RB and not working. Change the selector to PS / GHWT and pedal not working. Then again turn on the PS3 with GuitarHero WorldTour, I connect the wireless receiver and select PS / GHWT and operating normally. My question ?: What is the way to operate the drums on Rock Band 3 for PS3 and then use the PRO mode? And if you need to open and weld or add a card, I could indicate how. I have not found something similar in the entire site and then not want to lose my investment. Thanks for the suggestions and I hope you can help me. Cheers, Charlie,

I have just recently bought the game Duke Nukem Forever for my sony PS3 , and was wondering if anyone else besides me knows about the game,or has the game in their possession. If so, I'd like to know your comments, thoughts, likes, dislikes,or opinions you may have about the game. Personally I love the game and its concept, and have been a major fan of the game series since I was 5. If you guys have anything you'd like to say about the game, feel free to speak your mind as long as you're positive and constructive. I think that's it for today.

Hey forums, im new to instructables. I really need some help and ideas for my mancave which I am going to build. It's going to be in my bedroom, which is now just a room with a bed and some desks, but it has the potential and largeness to become a nice chill loungy man cave. I'm going to get a bigger 2 person bed this summer, and i get a tv for my birthday ( I hope). basicly the biggest problem is the construction of the room. I have a big shelf on the wall but it is occupied by lots of books from my childhood and from my brother(who is moved out already) and my parents. It's really annoying since we rebuilt the house and I got that room with a brand new shelf but my parents filled it with their stuff already :P. The majority of this stuff is moving or thrown away so its not a big problem. I will provide a plan of my room now and how i plan to make it. Basicly the things i really want in my room are these 1. tv 2. couch 3.speakers ( i have them but i want marley bag of riddim) 4. coffee table 5. mini fridge 6. fan 7. ps3 8. hookah. I have most of this stuff (except for the mini fridge, fan and couch) but the main thing is the way they are put in the room. Again i will provide plans of the room. Sorry for bad English, i'm not from England or US :D Terribly sorry about the pictures being reverted, i dont know how to revert them, so you have to do it if you want to see it :((( so sorry

Hello guys/girls I got a Playstation controller (CECH-ZRC1E) its for PS3, AMP and TV but i want to sync my TV, but the problem is... I got a unknown TV (Terris LCD 2213, Medion, BEKE, TEVION) so i can't find the code for it plus The PS3 remote is IF (infrared) and the original is RF (Radio Frequency) So my question is, is it possible to sync it on one way? The chance of finding the codes isnt a problem but if i can use a IF remote on RF remove (That's what i'm thinking that its Infrared and Radio Frequency, when i block the top side of the original it wont work, and the PS3 will respond (tried it on the PS3 and it still react)

So yes, my dad has said he will choose the PS3 as the free gift. So as you see im Estatic! I thought I might aswell get some info about the console, from gamers like yourself on instrutables. Just answer the questions: What is the best game to get on a PS3? Any regrets on buying it? ( e.g would of chose a different console, not worth it) Is it backwards compatible with other PS2 games ( if not is there a way to make it?) ? ( Im getting the 40gig - the only model available ) Which console do you think is going to win the next gen war? ( xbox has put up a good battle but the PS3 is picking up speed fast!) List of ps3 Must haves!!!? please. - Baron

Because the laptop I'm using takes 10-20 minutes to boot and the desktop is not set up with internet yet(and will not be for a long time) and is slow as hell , I use the ps3 for general web browsing. But when ever I try to access instructables, it says 403 and then something about that I don't have administrative permission. I would love it if you wonderful folks would look into that. BTW; the ps3 uses a crap - modified version of Netscape.

Hi im just wondering if it's possible to build a working rc car using parts from ps3 controler and quadcopter such as ESC ,battery , 2 motors in controller to power 2 wheels... ( This is just to see if i can find any use of those two things that i dont use , not trying to create a really good rc car , just checking if it is possible) The two motors would both have to spin at different speeds to make the rc car turn.

I was just in a discussion about the OUYA console. It's a system that uses Android to play Google Play games on the big screen. I've also heard rumors of an Android-running WiiU. I was wondering how difficult it would be to run Android on a game console that wasn't intended for it. Considering that their architecture allows them to run a bunch of Linux OS distributions, I figure it must be possible. It's probably possible in a non-destructive way too. Not to mention that Android can use pretty much any USB or Bluetooth remote you can throw at it with some rooting and fairly simple apps. It doesn't seem that it would be any physical modification, just software. Unfortunately, my programming skills are mediocre, and I'm not much of a hacker. So, let's start some discussion on how this could be done in a fully functional way. If you know it's been done, please post some links. Nobody has claims on the Instructable if they post information here. Whoever pieces all of the information together can do it. It won't be me.

Wanna know how to disappear and become invisible in an online game such as KILLZONE,SOCOM,....... Racing games.......(the list goes on and on.....) You will need: Ethernet Cable Small Switch Gaming system (online compatible( ps2,ps3,wii,xbox,xbox 360,) ( must be connected with a wire WIFI wont work Online Game All you have to do is cut the orange wire on the inside of the cable and put a switch there. then put the switch in the of position when you want to disappear. NOTICE: This may not work with all games. this only lasts about 7-10 seconds and then you are disconnected from the network. It is just like unplugging it but it is easier. ????: Why is there 8 wires in cat six (maybe its cat five) cable and olny four of them are used ? (waste of coper and bpa releasing plastic) Would have made an instructable but its not worth it. Yes cheating is weak I just like the disappearing part You don't disappear but nobody can see you

I am looking at making a self balancing skateboard... i am having trouable finding step by step instructions for the ones that use the sensors... so i was thinking that if i could use a wiimote or a ps3 controler becuase everyone knows that the wiimote has gyroscopic sensors in it and the ps3 controller has a sixaxis thingie in it...(i know that thingie isnt the correct term for it...) so that gave me a good idea instead of piecing together gyrocopic sensors and many other things than why not just use a controller to control it... and if anyone knows another way to control a self-balancing skateboard... or a way to hook them up to the board... and i am not very good at programing so... if you could just send me a message of the programing to use the controlers as a controller than that would be great... if anyone thinks that this way is just to much harder than it seems than please tell me... thank you, Girrrrrrr2

Hey guys, For all you gamers and arcade fan out there. I got a chalenge for you. Can you think of a good way to make a modular arcade cabinet that would let you play with joystiq controler AND racing wheel with little as possible change to make. So a mix between a racing cabinet and a regular arcade cabinet. Show me what you can think of :)!
