Soda carbonation?

Hi I want to carbonate my own soda with co2 (everytime I use yeast it comes out wrong/disgusting). I know I need a co2 tank and a keg, but what do I need in between? (simplest system possible).

Arduino soda fountain?

I would like to make a arduino soda fountain but i need some advice. Heres my plan Take an 8 channel relay board hook it up to the arduino. Then I take a 8 key keypad and hook to the arduino. I would buy 8 solenoid valves and hook them to relays. The valves would hold 1 water line and 6 flavors. Then i get stumped how do i get the last line to be carbonated water because if you had to take a soda stream to make the water it would take away from the effect of the machine. If any body knows how to do that i would love to hear I will also take any other advice Thanks Kaden

Soda Bottle Skylights

I love ingenuity, so I wanted to share this link to an article on a Brazilian machinist who makes skylights from water filled pop bottles. I'm not sure if these would classify as a budget solatube or a twenty first century deck prism. There's also a video, but it's in some obscure foreign language. Portuguese i think.I might add one to my shed...

Which soda is the best?

I suddenly got this idea to post a topic in which soda is the best. If this topic has already been posted, please notify me so that I can remove it. Votes will be closed at October 15. The winning soda will be announced after I count all the votes (either the 15th or 16th), and whoever voted for the winning soda gets the good feeling of being better than everyone else. Capiche? (8.12.08) EDIT: Wow. I never thought this would become so popular in about... 5 days. Thanks for voting, everyone! RULES: 1. You may vote for up to three DIFFERENT sodas, once each time. 2. You may not vote more than once. 3. You may not start a conversation with someone on this forum that has absolutely nothing to do with the topic. 4. There is no #4. 5. Your choices are: Anything you like that's a soda. Remember to keep your votes to up to 3 different sodas. Nothing alcoholic, please. EDIT (8.13.08, somewhere around 12 PM Central Time) The results so far. In first: Coke with 5 votes. In second: Jones with 4 votes. And the sodas tied for third: Root Beer, Cream Soda, and Dr. Pepper, each with 3 votes. Sodas with 2 votes: Mountain Dew, Diet Coke. Pepsi, and Canada Dry. Sodas with 1 vote: SURGE!!!!!!, Virgin Cuba Libre, Sprite, Sprite Remix (-_-;;), Vanilla Coke, Sunkist, Cherry Coke, Fresca, Limca, and 7-Up. Thanks again for voting, everyone!

How a Soda Can is Made

Plastic Soda Bottle Prosthesis

Prosthethic arms for land-mine victims, etc. War, land mines, and natural disasters create far too many amputees each year, especially in the developing world.  Worse, prosthetic limbs are expensive and hard to come by.  The Center for International Rehabilitation, posting under Instructables username CIRNetwork, has been working to find sustainable solutions:  locally available materials worked by local craftsmen.   Their plastic soda bottle prosthesis is one clear, simple solution to this problem:  a plastic bottle is heat-shrunk to cover a plaster cast of the limb stump.  Different devices can be attached to the end of the bottle, enabling the wearer to perform basic daily tasks.  This type of thing can really make a difference.  Check out the video below, and see more on the CIRNetwork YouTube channel. Want to help?  CIR is seeking donations of mobility aids to support ongoing rehabilitation relief efforts in Haiti.  You can also make general donations to assist people with disabilities worldwide. This post has been sponsored by Pepsi. The Pepsi Refresh Project celebrates the people, businesses, and non-profits with ideas that will have a positive effect on our world.

how to flatten a soda can?

I have some monster energy drink cans I want to flatten for the top of a table. Kinda like one of those beer cap resin tables if that makes any sense. Anyways, I have cut off the ends of a few soda cans but I cant get them to stay flat. I'll listen to any and all ideas, I'm not afraid to buy some tools. Oh yeah I want to be able to use the design of the cans, most of them are discontinued or rare. Hope I'm not confusing anyone. Have a great day!!

I want to set up a carbonation system for making soda. What stores can I go to in order to get the necessary materials? Answered

I'm looking for a local store to find the materials I need (hoses, regulators, pressurized container). Specifically, I guess some type of chain store (I doubt any of you know the local stores where I live). I checked Ace Hardware and Home Depot, but neither had the stuff I need.

Text onto soda can

I'm trying to apply some text onto the material from a soda can, but I don't have the neatest handwriting and it's not even meant to be a normal font. What are some good ways to apply some guidance for me when I go to actually scribe onto the material? The end result I'm aiming for is a box similar to this one; https://www.instructables.com/id/Drink-Can-Tinwork/ but with the Sith Creed written in one of the Star Wars fonts, and most of the visible work being done by a dremel. I've thought about making a stencil, but I'm not sure I can reasonably cut some of those shapes at the necessary size. Toner transfer may be an option, but I am not too familiar with that process.

Recycling Soda Bottles Experiments

Test 1: heat gun, "high setting"  Plastic Coke bottle SOFTENS + shrinks                                                                  -  at about 250F * Test 2: Heat gun " low setting** " Plastic coke bottle MELTS enough to  make gooey threads , and bubbles   -   at 450 to 500 F *according to a cheapy harborfreight laser thermometer. Not sure just how accurate it is in the 250  to 500F range. This device seems to read 5 degrees high at the 100F range. ** ironically, the temp is higher on the "low" setting. When the fan is moving less air, that air is hotter. One of the tricks, I imagine, might be to fully melt the plastic without burning it.   Suggestions welcome. Further results will follow.

How can I carbonate soda using a CO2 tank and not have to carbonate each 2L bottle one at a time? Answered

I want to start making my own soda and I can get my hands on a CO2 tank. I've seen how to do it, but it involves carbonating each 2L bottle separately. I was thinking of filling some sort of tank up with the soda and carbonating that. What would I need in order to set something like that up, and how should I got about doing it?

Pneumatic soda can cannon on Mythbusters?

I just watched a Mythbusters where they made a pneumatic soda can gun.  Go to 5:50 in this video to see their description of it.  Go to 7:00 to see it in action.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMYuQ5daXxk&feature;=related My questions are: what is the "fast acting valve" he used?   How do you refill that thing? Anyone seen an instructable for something similar?  I've seen lots of PVC versions, but I like the metal version because it's sexier looking, and potentially higher pressure/power. Thanks!

I need some Caustic Soda for my next Instructable, and I've found a drain-cleaning product with Sodium Hydroxide listed as the main ingredient. (Potassium Nitrate as the second, yay!) Soda / Pop / Fizzy drinks...whatever you call it, It's bloody damn GOOD!

LOL.Yeah, so there are many words to call the "drink" but it all boils down to one fact :I'ts Lovely!Soda / Pop, ( gets called different in the U.k than U.S.A), I'ts lovely isn't it.Whats your top 3 favourite flavours or brands?Mine are: Fanta - Fruit twist ( So refreshing! )Dr Pepper - Normal ( Very nice stress reliever! )Sprite - Normal ( A bit of a kick )Anyways just asking different people, when / if you buy six packs of Pop / Soda how much does it cost for you?Cause for me it is *1pound and 22 pence*. Is that a good deal? ( comparing to other places). Also don't you think Pop / Soda is addictive. I always feel like having another can after the one I had! My parents always nagg me about drinking to much!{ Remember we are talking about NON alcaholic drinks!); D
