Hello everyone. I recently purchased a new home, of which has some nice Under cabinet lighting. But they are extremely hot when I use them. Heat = wasted energy right? I want to be as Green as possible in my new home. The problem is, the Bulbs are these weird straight 120V Bulbs from Westek.http://www.servicelighting.com/Westek-00862-LB25B-25W-120V-HALOGEN-Double-Ended-Halogen-Incandescent-Light-BulbSo, the question is, Can I some how make an LED replacement Bulb? Each housing has 2 of these bulbs, and I have 4 of the housings. I can't read schematics, but any info would rock. Thanks everyone.

Hi! I dont know if here its a good place to talk about this idea but..here i come. First of all I just saw "In Time" movie, that from Justin Timberlake you know, and I was thinking about the green clock in their arms. I thought that I can do it with a projector or somekind of stuff like that..( like a PIPBOY 3000 from fallout, projectin right on my arm). But Imnot happy with that way so Im here asking for help... Would you know how to do a subcutaneous clock or maybe some transparent film around arm with leds, i dont really know. Brainstorming here please! Note: Sorry for my english, Im not a native english speaker and thanks for your time reading!

I've been getting periods of 503 errors (service unavailable) from Instructables recently. Are the servers creaking under the strain of all these weighty PRO members, or is the Instructables Robot hard at it mucking out the caches as he tweaks the privileges?

How many of you instructables are rated under 3*? I have 2, my ASCB, and my Handgun. They suck. How about you?

Coniferous trees (pines, etc) acidify soil under em. Lawn doesn't cope wit this too well. Dump your old boxes of baking soda from freezer/fridge under pine tree. It works. Grass grows better. I'd do an -ible, but didn't bother to take pics. If you try it, maybe take before + after pics and post an -ible.

I just spent an unproductive five minutes trying to track down the list of groups which I have joined. It used to be on the consolidated "main page" of .../you/. Now it turns out to be tacked on as an afterthought as the very last sub-category link under Settings. Why? Doesn't it belong under Discussions, along with Forums, Questions, etc.?

If there is anyone interested in amplifying their acoustic guitar for under $10....If you already have the parts then for free. It was a little experiment of mine a while ago and was very effective. If There is enough interest then I will post the details. No drilling if you don't want to.

If anybody has any Coke codes (found under your bottle caps, on the cardboard boxes, under the Dasani cardboard), I would really appreciate it if you could PM me them! My Coke Rewards is a fun program with (sometimes) cool prizes! I'm trying to get some $20 Southwest Discount Codes with my points to help fund my travels!

I'm 'fixing to get ready' to build this under my deck http://www.familyhandyman.com/decks/building-a-deck/under-deck-roof/view-all to cover a 16' wide x 12' long space under my deck. It looks simple enough, and there are a couple of YouTube videos of the same thing, but they all leave out some detail.Has anyone here done one of these? I think it needs flashing at the house end so water isn't weeping down the siding. Any other tips or tricks you found ? Thank you. ! Terry, Council Bluffs, Iowa

It would be really helpful if there was an option when you upload a photo to have it as the picture for the form topic and not for the photo under the message, and an option to have the photo for the photo under the message and not the form topic photo.

I believe a 'Leather' channel under the 'Workshop' category would be a good idea. I say this, because I'm often looking for leather-related instructables, and I suspect that many other people are, too. Leatherworking is as much its own specialized skill as sewing, woodworking, electronics, etc. Maybe you could even inaugurate the grand opening with a contest. :)

I've made several hydrogen generators via electrolysis, but every time I failed to store the generated hydrogen under (some) pressure. In this-> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9Q6gDKP2R0 video they used an emptied fire extinguiser to store the hydrogen. The only problem with this is that they use a chemical reaction to generate the hydrogen whereas I want to use a renewable source (electricity). I have a compressor so I could use that to generate the pressure. Has anyone got any ideas on how I could store hydrogen under pressure? Thanks

Have you ever made an I'ble of something made out of K'nex, but it is something which could go under another category of posts, such as a piece of furniture or organization item? I've seen some chairs/stools made from K'nex and I myself have recently made a bookstand out of K'nex. Where do you think such posts should be put? Is K'nex always going to go under K'nex? Or does what it is as a whole which decides where it should go? Currently you can only choose one category when publishing. So what is your opinion on this issue?

I have neon tubes that I use to use under my car. I want to find a way to use them around my desk, or to add more ambient lighting to my room or something. I tried to find something to do with this, but had no luck. I am a complete noob,so if someone could point me in the right direction that would be awesome.

On my 'me' page, under answers, it shows I have 2 questions, and 38 answers. If I use the 'next page' button to show the next 10 'answers' I've given, that page, and all subsequent pages show I have no questions. Hypothesis: (the same offset of +10 is being applied to both the questions and answers, and seeing there are no questions 10+ it shows none)

Hi there! Many years ago, I found an instruction for storing PC peripheries and cables under the desk using a perforated plate and cable ties. But unfortunately, I'm not able to find it again. Does anybody has a clue of what I'm talking about and can give me a hint oder even a link? :) Regards. Felix

Ben Krasnow built a machine that makes liquid nitrogen for under $500. It's made with many parts he bought off of eBay and can generate a liter a day of the stuff at a cost of $1.15 per liter. Check out the link for more info. The first video is from this year's Maker Faire and the second shows the effect of liquid oxygen on a BBQ. DIY liquid nitrogen generator via adafruit

I have noticed that on Instructables, I seldom see anything relating to computer programming. I'd like to change that. I would strongly reccomend adding a tab labled: Programing under the Tech section of instructables. To clarify this, I am referring to the sections under Tech. e.g. CNC and Microsoft. Thank you.

More innovation from Japan. This looks more like a tent than a house to me, but it's definitely waterproof. Looking at the pictures toward the bottom of the page, it's surprisingly spacious and perfect for all sorts of circular socializing.Link via Make: blog

Hello! I've been having problems on my IPHONE and IPOD for few days now. The RECENT and FEATURED shows old Instructables. Under 'FEATURED', I get 'SHOP TOOLS' from 2008. Under RECENT, I get 'DUCT TAPE PROJECTS' from Jul 2013. Not sure if this began after the last update or not. It won't refresh. I tried deleting and reinstalling the app with no luck. Help! (FYI - my IPHONE and IPOD TOUCH is still under the prevous OS)

Hi, I need some UV paint that is inviable under normal light that turns bright white under blacklights. I will painting it on a giant hanging sign. I need a recipe for some uv paint or a cheap source of it. It looks like it cost around $70 dollars for 1 gallon and I need around 3 gallons of it. I know that you can use tonic water but I don't have experience using it (How bright will it glow). Also you can use laundry detergent but I dont know if it will show in normal. The key is it to not glow the under normal light and for it glow brightly under uv light, and it needs to be cheap. Any one have any experience with uv lights, paints, or other related things. Any comments are welcome. Thanks for your time. Joe R

Origami needs its own category. Seriously. Yes, there is a 'paper' category under living and yes, there is a 'paper airplanes' category under play but origami deserves its own home. Even though I've posted a lot of origami in the paper category, I always feel weird doing it since I feel like Living, Paper is for stuff like making paper, books, cards, and maybe paper craft (though this should be under the play category and maybe have a section of its own too). I've also posted a few things in the paper airplane's category because it's flying origami but still don't feel like it's the right place for it. I feel like origami much better fits under the Play area (instead of living) and there is definitely enough of it to warrant its own category. Please give the orphan origami a home.
