I am building a under water array using 9pcs 10 watt green leds, and will be powering from a automotive battery. the led data is. 10 watt green 900 lumens voltage dc 9-10.8 current 900mA integrated approach 3 and 3 My current build has them in parallel due to not wanting to lose all leds if one fails but will change this if its not possible. I am having issues finding a step up dc to dc adjustable driver that will allow a output of 10.8 volts an a current of 8100mA . Anyone have ideals or a better solution. Thanks.

Does anyone know of the range of Series 1, 1mW Xbee modules under water or if that even works? If not would a 60mW one work? And we are assuming that the Xbee does not get wet or anything like that and is in full working condition.

Hello everyone. I recently purchased a new home, of which has some nice Under cabinet lighting. But they are extremely hot when I use them. Heat = wasted energy right? I want to be as Green as possible in my new home. The problem is, the Bulbs are these weird straight 120V Bulbs from Westek.http://www.servicelighting.com/Westek-00862-LB25B-25W-120V-HALOGEN-Double-Ended-Halogen-Incandescent-Light-BulbSo, the question is, Can I some how make an LED replacement Bulb? Each housing has 2 of these bulbs, and I have 4 of the housings. I can't read schematics, but any info would rock. Thanks everyone.

Hi! I dont know if here its a good place to talk about this idea but..here i come. First of all I just saw "In Time" movie, that from Justin Timberlake you know, and I was thinking about the green clock in their arms. I thought that I can do it with a projector or somekind of stuff like that..( like a PIPBOY 3000 from fallout, projectin right on my arm). But Imnot happy with that way so Im here asking for help... Would you know how to do a subcutaneous clock or maybe some transparent film around arm with leds, i dont really know. Brainstorming here please! Note: Sorry for my english, Im not a native english speaker and thanks for your time reading!

Hi everyone. I have put up with a crappy $10 soldering iron for years now and have had enough. I want to buy a new soldering station for under $100. The two options I have looked at are the weller WES51 and the hakko fx-888. What are your'e thoughts on each of them? What would you buy?

What could be the effects of the output when operating a transformer at half its rated voltage, specifically to the amperage? as two examples: If I had a transformer rated for an input of 240v and an output of 20A at 24v and I was to supply the primary with 120v, what would happen to the output? If I had a variac (autotransformer, variable transformer, ect.) and it was rated for an input of 240v with an output of 0-260v at 11A, what would happen to the output ratings at only 120v?

I remember when I first went to the bottom of the 11 ft. area in the swimming pool. I think it would be cool to have a battle like the toa mahri did. :)

I'm putting together a Steampunk outfit, and I need a good way to make a shirt look used. My character is a mechanic, so I want it to look like it's been worn by someone who gets dirty and greasy fairly often, but I don't want it to look nasty and like I should get a new shirt ;) The shirt would basically be a white/grey tank top undershirt. Thank you!

I've seen a wild rabbit near my shed. I can't see all the way under the shed, even though it's up off the ground, because there's a mound of dirt under there. I put lettuce just under the shed, and it disappears. Could the mound be a rabbit's nest??
I have several compost bags (ex flour). I put them on shade. But I just read from the web that compost works better under direct sun. My question is it better to put my compost bags under direct sun or just keep tem away from direct sun? Could you please give the reasons also. Thanks

How many of you instructables are rated under 3*? I have 2, my ASCB, and my Handgun. They suck. How about you?

I've been getting periods of 503 errors (service unavailable) from Instructables recently. Are the servers creaking under the strain of all these weighty PRO members, or is the Instructables Robot hard at it mucking out the caches as he tweaks the privileges?

Coniferous trees (pines, etc) acidify soil under em. Lawn doesn't cope wit this too well. Dump your old boxes of baking soda from freezer/fridge under pine tree. It works. Grass grows better. I'd do an -ible, but didn't bother to take pics. If you try it, maybe take before + after pics and post an -ible.

I have been playing acoustic guitar and want to try electric. I need to find the best guitar for under $200 and I it would be good if it came with an amp, but it's not required
