Hi there instructable wizards! I'm the admin for a somewhat new Instructables group and we're having trouble adding our Instructables to our group. We found two ways to attempt to add an instructable to a group - Go to the group page (in our case The Rabbit Hole) and on the right hand side press the +add your Instructable Or - Go to your Instructable and on the middle right there is a Add Instructable to "Group" button Either way, if someone uses these options, as one of the admins, I get an email saying that a new add request has been submitted, but then when I follow the link to the admin page, there are no pending instructables to approve. I've tried this many times on Windows 7 in FF, IE and Chrome...also tried it on Linux in FF When I visit the URL I see the image included here: It says 12 items found, displaying all items. 1 But willschm and another member of our group have already submitted new projects that should be in the pending section Also noticed that something considers that I have added an Instructable to the group because I can't attempt to add it again from the group page thanks fro the help!

I have posted a new instructable, but when I went into edit mode, to add a new step, there is no provision for doing so: Here's my instructable: https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Quickly-Field-Estimate-the-Weight-of-a-Stan/ I tried using Internet Explorer 8, Opera 12, and Mozilla Firefox 23, but to no avail. This is the first time this has ever happened with one of my instructables. And please, don't hesitate to be verbose with your answer, as others on this forum have posted the same problem, and the posted answers are not helpful at all. For example, others have answered "... click the add step button..." when the post indicated there was no add step button, or "... maybe the instructable was not set up as a step-by-step instructable" and simply left the problem still hanging there. Hey guys, these are not complete, problem resolving answers. And problem repetition (with lack of suitable answers) does clutter up our help section. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, shastalore

My friend gave me his broken DS, and since I didn't have any other way of taking it apart, I ripped it apart by the hinges. So now I want to know how I can do these things to my DS to make it better: Add a second battery socket to increase battery life x2 Add new speakers for double sound Add one screen to each side of the Touch Screen Put more buttons to enhance gameplay Add more LEDs for more signals Merge the two DS outer shells together to make a multi-colored DS Anything is appreciated. Thanks.

Whenever I click "insert step" or "Add Step+" a small message appears saying: "There's been a problem updating your Instructable parsererror SyntaxError: Syntax error" I've tried refreshing the page, but it still has that problem, and what's up with not being able to use Enter when typing? I have Windows 7 home premium, service pack 1, internet explorer 10 and Google chrome have the problem. The problem page is at https://www.instructables.com/id/edit?instructableId=E92QJ9NHNICTSUK#instructableId=E92QJ9NHNICTSUK,stepId=SDGA9KVHNICTSUJ

I have seen a few people disliking 7 Because the Icon is alone with no Label on the task bar, This is not big enough to deserve a whole i'ble but i will just make a topic about it. I will show you how to add back the labels next to the icons. Step 1 Right Click On your Windows Flag Step 2 Select Properties Step 3 Open the taskbar Tab Step 4 Locate the option "Taskbar buttons" Step 5 Change the setting "Always combine Hide labels" to "Never Combine" Step 6 Click apply Congrats!!! Now you have absolutely no excuse not to upgrade from Vista to 7 Now!

I have a Windows Vista Computer, and am using the Firefox browser. For some reason I'm not able to edit the Survival themed collection I have published. When I click on the edit button on its page, I get the error screen. I also can't add instructables to it directly from the page of the instructable I want to add. It keeps giving me errors, and I've tried several different instructables with the same results. The funny thing is, All my other published collections are still working fine. Can you please help me with this?

Hey i'bles! I'm on a Mac using Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. 1) When you are using bullets (unordered list), and try to copy text into a new bullet, it adds and extra space between the bullets. Item 3 was the text that I tried to copy into the bullet, and it adds too much space on the top and bottom. It's because when you copy text and paste it into a bullet (ordered list) it throws in an extra (NOT ) that is adding the extra unwanted space between bullets. Item 1 Item 2 Item 3 item 4 item 5 2) When you have a really long step, and you have to scroll down to edit your text, the text options editing bar gets shifted off-screen, and the regular buttons don't work. See picture. Only the buttons all the way off to the right work. The ones on the left that I need to use get grayed out. Nice job on the the new formatting options! Love the code button! Thanks!

Well i know it's not exactly an instructible but i would be REALLLLLLLY awesome to have that search box at the top right hand corner of Firefox to search instructables! i go on instructables a lot and to be able to search something without having to go though the website would be ULTIMATE!

My 8 year old son, Finn, was recently diagnosed with ADHD/inattentive (what used to be called ADD). He isn't hyper, he just can't focus. He is in the 3rd grade and really struggling and wants to do better which is causing him no end of frustration. He has been brainstorming a lot recently on what may help him and he had an idea. I've look around and can't find it off-the-shelf so I was wondering if anyone has good ideas on approaches to DIY build. Finn's idea was a pencil or pen which is pressure sensitive and detects if he stops writing and gets his attention with a flash of light or a vibration. This is for use in class so it has to be something that wouldn't distract the other students. I was thinking that instead of a "smart" pen, it may be easier to build a pressure sensitive clipboard which alerts when it's not being written on (when it's supposed to be, of course). It can't be something computer/tablet based, it has to be something he can plug any worksheet into and have it help him stay focused until it's done. He gets about 4 worksheets a day to "finish in class" and has to bring them home unfinished to add to his homework. Any ideas on a good starting point mechanism would be very appreciated. Regards, Jason

So what I am doing is extending the cable of a webcam and the computer no longer recognize the Camera. So everything I have found suggests I use a power USB hub to give it the extra oofh needed to make the distance. But what I am doing makes that not possible because I will be outside far from any outlets. What I plan to do is place a battery on the camera is self and only transfer the data of USB. My thoughts were to connect a battery to the power lines of the USB cable but the Diagram says that red is DC, that's fine but the black is listed as a GROUND. That implies I couldn't just hook the negative the the black wire. Is this so? If it is how could I complete the circuit?

Hello Can somebody tell me if you can add text into a batch file at a specific point. When i add text (with another batch file) it always go's to the end of the text/batch file. That does not help having the text at the bottom like this :hello pause>nul exit echo hello for example when I want to add text like this :hello echo hello pause>nul exit at the moment I use this code to add text to a batch file pushd %CD% for %%j in (1.bat) do type "%%j" >> 2.bat popd Thanks in advance If you don't understand please comment and say what you don't understand :)

I have installed Webmail Notifier and NoScript on my Firefox browser and wouldn't be without them. Are there any you feel are must-have additions to your browser? 26, May, 2010 It was difficult trying to choose a Best answer because I asked a question that was worded in such a way that every answer was promulgated on the opinion of the answerer. But the robot is bugging me to pick one, so I am going to give to Kiteman for his spell check answer simply because I believe there are a lot of people who could make use of that one.

I hate ads. I hate them so much. My Internet is incredibly slow with them. But, there is 2 GREAT add-ons for Firefox. One is Adblocker, and FlashBlock. Adblocker can block most images. There is usually a little translucent tab that pops up with the word "block" on it, along with the button in the upper right hand corner that allows you to choose what to block. It's entirely free. But,blocking images weren't enough to speed up Firefox. Then I discovered FlashBlock. Guess what it does. It's slightly defective in a way that it blocks EVERY .flv or .swf item on the page, including YouTube videos, but if you roll your mouse over the blocked area, the little flash sign will change to a play arrow, allowing you to play the item without complications. This is also 100% free. I highly recommend these to anyone using Firefox so they can speed it up very significantly, especially if you're using a Netbook. -NYPA

Hi there. I love this Instructable (https://www.instructables.com/id/TARDIS-Card-Bigger-on-the-inside/) and while making it I ended up creating a PDF for the whole thing. I'd like to add this to the Instructable by uploading it into the comments, but I can't see a way to do that. I can upload a JPG but not a PDF... or am I missing something? I've attached the PDF for reference (the help forum let me). Any help you could give me would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi This may sound odd, as I have already done it before but can't for the life of me recall how I did it... I want to embed a YouTube video into a new instructable I am working on. I have the link and embed code etc, but don't see an option to add this. It is 112MB file, so not going to upload a file, but link it with the embed code as I have before: https://www.instructables.com/id/Unmanicure-How-To-Make-Nasty-Nails/ I am probably missing something obvious, but any ideas? Regards Stuart

I do occasionally look at the adds, but I find it really annoying having to remember to hold CMD when I click on them so they open in a new tab. Could the instructables team please re-program the site so that it will open the adds and links in a new tab or window, just like facebook? Thanks, BB

Due to the huge response to Supersoftdrink's Sensory Seeker and Counterchangeracing's One Legged Therapy Stool from a huge variety of people looking for ideas and help for themselves or their children, I believe there is a need for a designated category. Nothing medical or diagnostic but of ideas that have worked for people, how to make or use equipment, gadgets etc. When you look at the two sites Ive referred to you will see that many different needs and "issues" are asked about. I stress no diagnosis or medical at all. Please give this your consideration.
