I have one AMD athlon 64 CPU ( 2.2 Ghz ) for sale; two sticks of 256MB of DDR RAM and a heat sink for the CPU. I tested them and they work The price I am asking for is $25 for all of it.

I have two processors from junk comps and one is a AMD-K6-2/400AFQ, and one is a AMD-K6-2/350AFR. What's the difference between these two processors. I also have a Pentium III SL52P, is this processor better than the two? I currently run with AMD, and have had good experience with them, but it doesn't really matter to me what brand it is.

Hi. I have been overclocking my new cpu (AMD Phenom II X2 550 BE) and I was all excited about having an unlocked multiplier, because of the Black Edition, yet I can't even stably change it! I was told that you should up the CPU bus speed as much as you can while leaving the CPU stable, then move on to the multiplier. Yet after I get to the stable bus speed (235) I can't up the multiplier even one notch. It is currently 15.5. This was the stock multiplier. My question is, is it worth it to lower the bus speed so I can stably increase the multiplier. And is there a way to stably increase the multiplier even after you max out the bus speed that I am obviously not doing? Thanks in advance.

I was planning to purchase parts for a budget gaming system, around $600. Everyone says that Amd processors are a lot cheaper than Intel (which is true), but they say that the performance isn't nearly as good. What do they mean by this? Are they decent gaming processors? Thanks.

I want to know because i have both of these, and my Turion 64 runs pretty hot, so if anyone can help me out here, it would be appreciated. they are both 1.9GHz dual cores, both 64 bit capable. What i want to know is, does the Athlon run cooler, and is there anything that puts it above the Turion?

It looks like this is possible with an Nvidia GPU, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to do this with my AMD based card. Everything I've found online seems fairly dated, and I was wondering if there have been any updates to this. Thanks

I recently recieved an XFX Radeon HD 6850 card after reluctantly switching from nVidia. My previous card was an MSI N8400GS 512MB DDR2, and wasn't up to spec with the latest games. I installed teh card using standard procedures (grounding myself, carefully removing and inserting cards etc. I have determined it isn't a problem with my setup or power supply, as my system specs exceed all of those required by the card. The only one it didn't meet was PCI-E x16 2.1, mine is on;y 2.0, but I'm told it is backwards compatible, and it wasn't listed as a requirement (only pci-e x16). I have installed the drivers from the ATi website, and uninstalled my old ones. The crd does not run hot at any time, so overheating isn't a problem. The problem is I sometimes heat interference on the headphones, even though I'm using a separate sound card. I also get digital interference on the screen (I'm using DVI). When I try to put any kind of stress on the card (run-in tests, benchmarking, or gaming), the display driver stops responding multiple times, the interference increases, and sometimes the system halts and I have to reset. I can't think of any good reason for this problem other than a faulty card, but I bought it brand new @ factory sealed, with no modifications or over clocking. Any idea what the problem might be?

Hey, I'm trying to figure out which computer I should buy. One is an HP Pavilion HPE H8 with an Intel i7 third generation quad core at 3.4Ghz. The other has an AMD FX100 Hex core processor at 3.5Ghz. It sounds like the AMD is the winner, but I just want to be sure. I plan on running games such as Battlefield 3, Crysis 2, Saints Row 3, Medal of Honor, Need for Speed World, and about 7 or 8 other smaller games. The computer with the AMD processor has 8GB RAM and the i7 processor has 10GB, both have 1TB sata 7200rpm HDD. Which is faster? Which will run best?

Hi, I am relatively new to building custom computers. However, I feel like I know enough to actually build one. The first problem I'm having though is finding a good motherboard. I won't be doing a whole lot of hard core gaming, but probably a little(Halo, Fallout 3/New Vegas, MW2, etc...). So I would say I'd need the following specs(minimum, more is usually better): 4GB DDR3 RAM PCI Slot(s) 3 SATA devices(2 HDDs, 1 Disk Drive) 500GB HDD(s) AMD AM3 Athlon II x2 445 VGA & DVI I think I've found a good mobo to fit this bill: GIGABYTE GA-785GMT-USB3 Can anyone vouch for it, or offer a better suggestion?

Here's what happened. I got on today and started up MW2 on my PC. I had just installed a new mod, so i thought nothing of it when it lagged down to 20 FPS, perhaps, when it usually runs at 40-60 FPS. I got bored eventually and went to organize my PC, which included uninstalling a lot of old programs and making new folders. I decided to play borderlands when I was done. I noticed there was a considerable difference in frame rate from the previous day. Same thing with all of my other games, Minecraft, HL2 and all others. The only thing i did overnight was install that MW2 mod through bittorrent ( don't worry, it's legal. Alteriwnet, google it.) I've played around with my GFX card, AMD Raedeon 6540, and no dice. I've played with the clock in catalyst to no avail. I've installed game booster and boosted, but i can't get the lag to go away. The best results I've had are ending one of the 2 processes named wininitt.exe. My FPS almost got back to normal. I Think it has something to do with graphics, as nothing else is really slowed down. Also, I've tried uninstalling the MW2 mod. I played around with my windows 7 theme, too. PC specs Intel email@example.com GHz Dual core 4 GB ram AMD Raedeon HD 6450 GFX Windows 7 Home premium -NYPA -Update The lag has been abolished. I don't know how, but it's gone. I did not touch my computer for a long time, iI guess to wait it out, but i'm not the only user of my computer, so it was used. Protips for people coming to this thread because they have the same problem, Scan for viruses Do regular HDD cleaning, i.e defragment, delete old files, registry clean. Lower GFX settings Update drivers Clean the computer's internals -NYPA

I had to keep taking the cooler off and putting it back on to get it to clip into the board... :D Anyway, please let me know what you think I should do. THANKS!

Hi all. I am looking to upgrade my CPU cooler in my pc. Mycurrent cpu is a Pentium 4 3.0Ghz. My Motherboard is an Asus P5KPL-AM-EPU. I am trying to decide whether to buy a Pentium Dual-Core E6500, or a Core 2 Duo E7600. I USUALLY buy from CircuitCity because of their prices. Again, my choices are: Pentium Dual-Core E6500 Core 2 Duo E7600 I want something BETTER than the Pentium 4, but I dont want to spend much more than 200 dollars, preferably.. closer to 120 or so.. I know that those prices are CHEAP for a CPU, but well.. I dont have the money for a NEW pc, or a Core 2 Quad or expensive Core 2 Duo. If you're wondering why I dont have the money for a new pc or a more expensive CPU, Its because im 12. :D PLEASE REPLY ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS FOR YOUR TIME!

In short: I built a computer octoboer 2013, I used an AMD FX-8350, the default heatsink is terrible and often gives me the BSoD when playing games or rendering things in Cinema 4D, What heatsink should I get? I don't know much about heatsinks, especially seeing that I used the stock heatsink. My motherboard is an ASUS M5A99X (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131874) and my case is a RAIDMAX Seiran ATX-902WB (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156269). My budget is about $60 or so. I don't want to spend more than I need to though. The most demanding thing that gets me the BSoD is rendering things like on Cinema 4D 100% CPU. When I render, however, I usually set the affinity of Cinema 4D to only 5 cores instead of eight. So here are some of my questions: Do I need an extra wire from my PSU to run the fan? Or does the fan on the heat sink simply have a wire to plug into the CPU fan socket? Also, do I need to take my motherboard off in order to put the heatsink in? Thanks!
