I am trying to install an in line signal amplifier for my satellite, which I hope will increase the signal strength. However, when I finish installing the amplifier the signal is totally blocked. Dose anyone have any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

My old DVD/amplifier's DVD is broken so i thought i would convert it to a portable amplifier with some more inputs and stuff, anyone know where i might find blueprints or something so that i might easier figure out what's what? it's a Centrum Triton 110, (sucks, but then it doesn't matter if i mess with it) thanks

Hi all, I got two 3-way-speakers (8ohm) from my uncle, but I don't have an amplifier. I wanted to use these speakers as audio-monitors for my pc. Is it possible to make an (easy) amplifier-circuit for this use? And do I need one or two circuits (1 circuit-1 speaker / 1 circuit-2 speakers)? Thanks for helping me out! I am trying to build a high voltage amplifier that will amplify an AC signal of approx. +-5V to a signal of approx +-100V. I was looking into building a common-source amp using JFETs or a common-emitter amp using BJTs, but both seem to have an output waveform of 0V to +100V. Is there a way to modify these amps to have an output waveform of -100V to +100V? Also, if anyone has any better Ideas, please let me know. Mark

Right so I have a Ministry of Sound, MT2, Power Tower, HI FI System. It has two external speakers which are fairly crap and a decent sub woofer. I want to take out the sound board and the screen interface, des guard the tape and CD player and remount them into a new housing. Currently the output sockets are 3.5mm headphone sockets which the speakers which came with it originally plugged into. However I have much better quality bookshelf speakers which I want to hook up. Is it possible to hook up my new speakers effectively turning e self contained stereo system into an amplifier?

Hey guys. I'm new to these forms so please bear with me. I am very new to Instructables and this is my first project. I am currently working on THIS INSTRUCTABLE: https://www.instructables.com/id/Portable-Guitar-or-iPod-Amplifier-Amp-9v-LM3/?ALLSTEPS All I did is connected all the components as shown in the link. What I decided was to use an aux cable to connect my phone to input jack and connect my computer speakers to output jack. After connecting the 9v battery and connecting phone and speakers, all that happened was that led lighted up slightly and no sound from speakers. The moment I turned the volume of phone to maximum , LED started blinking still no sound. Plz help......:( Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you :) Sorry for bad English...:(

Ok, so I'm currently playing with the idea of making a "feedback clock". Except 1 to 12 is now replaced with 12 speakers, and only having one the hand which would have a microphone attached to the end of the arms. For the rotation of the arm, a geared DC motor. The problem I have is in the construction of this mechanism, so any help or thoughts would be welcomed. My original thought is constructing an amplifier with 12 outputs and 1 input. The input being a receiver, transmission coming from from the microphones attached to end of the arms. OR would it be possible to make individual smaller amps for each speaker and split take the signal from the receiver in to each amp? If I was to do a multi-channel out put amp, does anyone know what circuit design I would be looking at?

Just a thought, but what if you added a sort of a funnel to the windward side of the box that holds the belt? Could that allow a single windbelt to get more power out of less wind? Of course that would also make it more susceptible being to torn apart by a strong wind, speaking of which, has anyone thought of some sort of safety mechanism that would keep it from coming apart like galloping gertie? p.s. has anyone thought about the dynamics of the belt itself? Does a wider belt vibrate more? How about length, is longer better, or do you eventually reach a point where adding length has a nominal effect on the power generation? What about power storage? Couldn't you have it charge a battery, like solar cells do, and then use some sort of power inversion out of that? And by what method is the magnet attached to the belt? What about guitar pickups? I mean a single metallic wire as the belt and the box around it containing some sort of magnet/coil setup. Is that too inefficient, or could something like that be done? Because that might be able to withstand greater wind forces, although a cylindrical belt wouldn't work as well as a flat one.... I think that's all for now. Sorry to ask so many questions, but this idea really interested me.

I was interested in pursuing the Bike Stereo instructable but I would rather not buy the $30 amp. What are the general ideas behind making decent-quality amplifiers for speakers? I have limited theoretical/practical experience with op-amps and I'm struggling to apply these ideas to a stereo system. Any thoughts?

I want to make a microphone to 8 ohm speaker amplifier. I have tried using the lm386 op amp, however, the results were poor. What other IC could I use for this project? PD: It would also be of great help if any of you could send me a schematic along with the new IC since I am relatively new to electronics and still learning.

Hello Instructables. This is my first post and would like to begin by saluting the work you all do, I love receiving the email at work showing the weeks projects. My problem, that I hope somebody has a solution to is this... I am building a false wall to house my fish tank and TV, ps3 etc however my amplifier is too large and does not fit into my project. The only way round this is to house my amplifier in the loft. In the wall I want to place the IR remote control Sensor. I don't really want to pay out for those 'eye's' you can buy online (nor do i think they would be compatible with my model of amplifier) so was wondering if i could just use some ordinary electrical cable to extend the sensor? I was worried cable might not allow this as it would probably add extra resistance to the circuit. Does anybody have a solution or suggestion that involves spending little or no money please? Hi guys, a few time ago I needed a set of speakers for my PC so I brought back to the light two speakers from my old Philips Hi-Fi ( http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/216/28505497yt5.jpg/ ) and a set of 2 broken PC speakers that I didn't throw away when was time to... So, long story short, I used the PC speakers circuitry to supply my Hi-Fi speakers and plug them to my PC. Now I was thinking if there is any way to give a better supply to these speakers in order to get a better sound. Speakers: FB 545 PH Impedance: 6 ohm Watt: 100 Thanks :)

Hey, I have this 10w bass amplifier for home practice. Problem is that it gives no sound through the speaker, but it works fine through the headphone output. I have Checked the fuse, which was ok. I have also connected other speakers to the amplifier to see if it is the speaker itself that is broken, it seems like it is not. Seems like quite a curious problem, but can it be fixed? It sure would be nice to play without headphones again.

Hello, I ordered this amplifier and I need to pick best battery for this amplifier. Would be great to power it for at least 3-4 hours on maximum volume (200W rms subwoofer and 2x50W rms speakers). I need lightweight battery and powerful battery, size does not matter, budget is low so nothing overpriced I do not want.

I was in need of a pocket sized powered amplifier, so I made this:https://www.instructables.com/id/Simple-Powered-Pocket-Amplifier/However, I need to run larger speakers off of it, 6.5" woofers, and I need to get decent sound out of it. When I ran more power through my pocket amp (6v. battery pack rather than 3v.) I fried the circuit and had to make a new one. Any suggestions for a pocket sized, powered amplifier that can power said speakers? the amp and battery pack must be concealable in a suit.

Looking for some help with an audio issue in a museum kiosk. I have a small 10 watt stereo amplifier running a single 8 ohm speaker. My audio source file is in mono and need to keep the single speaker. Using shielded stereo audio cables. There is a faint amount of static coming from the speaker. Is there a way to reduce this noise/static?

Hey guys, I've uploaded some pictures of my problem. What I have here is an attempt to add bass to my speakers - I'm a newb, so this isn't going so well. The music is comeing from an iDock, and is being routed in parallel to a set of computer speakers. The right speaker has volume & tone knob, the left is simply plugged into the right. I unplugged the left speaker, took the circuitry out, and connected its input & output to a larger bass speaker - quickly was I suprised with a smoking capacitor (lol how healthy!) so... what should I do, simply add a resistor? Edit: Note the resistor (brown red red = 12k? or 1.2k?) is only in series with the LED and is not affecting the bass speaker. I am just wondering how a bass speaker could draw MORE amperage than the small speaker without any circuitry?

Could someone help me with some simple wiring questions? I've built a little boombox using a Lepai amp and some speakers. At the moment the back is off the box that houses the amp, so I can plug in a mains power adapter, but I've got a housing for 10 x rechargeable NiMH AA batteries making a 12v battery pack with maybe 20 amphours of life in it. I've only just ordered the batteries so I'll see. However, I was thinking that I'd still like to have a socket that I can plug the mains adapter into. So I was thinking about mounting a DC socket on the back plate, and some sort of switch to select the power source. 1. Does the switch need to be a 3 position one? There's an on/off switch on the front of the amp, so maybe a 2-way switch would be OK? 2. Does the switch need to be some sort of special one because it's switching power. Would something like this one do? 3. The switch has 3 terminals. How do I connect it up? I'll have +ve and -ve from the battery pack, a +ve, -ve, and earth from the DC socket, and a +ve, -ve and earth going to the amp. ...or maybe there's an easier way of doing it? Thanks.

This is the only amplifier I had lying around and since it was a mono amplifier, it only accepts 2 inputs. By using two boards at the same time feeding the same signal wherein the LEFT channel and GND goes to the 1st board and the RIGHT channel and same GND to the second board will it work smoothly as a stereo amplifier creating a 120w Amplifier? ~(Also, I'm using only 1 power supply to power the two boards.)

HI, i have a bunch of transistors that i took out of an old cd stereo. I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out how to make an audio amp using one or two of them. I am really new to electronics and I haven't had much luck figuring it out on my own. The transistors I have are like little rectangles with a hole on top the kind that usually has a heat sink. some of the numbers on them are: B1344, B1342, k3053, D2012, i also have alot of capacitors ranging from .47 to 3300uf these are 50 v and 30 v. I've tried other audio amp plans but im having trouble learning to read the schematics. Any help is appreciated ill make an instructable if i can figure it out.

Hey I got this amp. Now at large volumes, there seems to be clipping. Even though the amp is 20w, my speaker is rated for 25w. How can I prevent it from happening, rather than never playing at high vol. Can it be done by AGC or Dynamic Range Compression or Noise Gate. In my case, which is a ready made pcb, how can I include such circuitry. Is it even possible. Also, while selecting an IC, what needs to be looked at that will suggest clipping would not happen, or which parts needs to be referenced from the datasheet which ensures preventing clipping. At large volumes, if I disconnect the mp3 player from the amp but keep the jack plugged into the amp, a high hum is heard. When removed, hum is lowered but not eliminated. Similarly, when track changes. What steps needs to be taken to eliminate them. All the time before actually getting into practical electronics, I was only looking at Power output, THD+N, Class, etc of amplifier. It is only after going hands-on, for the first time, that I can experience the real things which most matter. Appreciate for helping me become a pro. Thanks.

Hi Please don't shoot me for asking this. I am getting confused. I am building an amp using TA2020, with guidance from datasheet. The input pins accept analog sources. I would like to know how to add Bluetooth, USB, Airplay input support to the amp, since their output is digital (if i am correct). Simply by adding different modules, would it suffice? Now also, where does I2S, DSP fit in. Thanks

I have a set of stereo computer speakers that run off a 9v power supply, I'd like to replace this power supply with a bank of 8 1.2v cells (9.6v) that I could recharge with the original (9v 94mA) power supply. First of all, would I need to regulate the voltage down to 9v, or will 9.6v be fine on a simple amplifier circuit? Secondly, would I need any circuitry to allow the 9v supply to charge 9.6v worth of cells? Would some kind of auto cutoff circuitry be necessary to prevent overcharging of the cells, or would common sense by not leaving it charging for long periods suffice?

I'm looking for or to make a 100 watt amp, I can't seem to find any. If you know where i can find one online or a schematic to build one please let me know! Also is it possible to resist or lower the amps from an amplifier or will I have to specifically get a 30 watt amp for the mid range speaker. I am attempting an "led music box on steroids" project hahaha.... basically what I am going to do is make a clear plastic box and put leds and speakers and a 6" sub in it. Kinda bored and looking for a fun project and this came to mind. I'm open to any suggestions to make it better or ideas on how to power the speakers. Thank you in advance! I had the idea to put a sub in my car. i bought everything (sub+amp). But first I tried to wired it in my car, my friend told me to look at my alternator to see if he could take the load. My amp and subs are 600W rms. So I,ve look at the specification of my car....my alternator is an 80 amp. Its the only thing about alternator I saw in a lot of diffent specs.\ So. 80 amp alternator 600W rms amp 600W rms sub Could my alternator could take the load???? thanks!

Ok so long story short i want to make a serious home theater system. i have all the amps and speakers, but they are from a car. so i will need to run them from 12ish volts from my home outlets. so i cam wondering what kind of adaptor i should be making or using. i see pre-made ones that have an output of 12v with their amps ranging from 3-15 and watts from 3 to 300. i am no electrician and have little electrical experience, so i am wondering if i should go with more or less amps and watts, i dont need to fry anything as the amp and speakers i have are expensive!
