I am looking for directions for a baby basket like a moses basket but without the basket. it is self contained and I have only scene one the sides are foam and the bottom a piece of plastic or wood I think. It has a hood like a bassinet for the head. The lady said she bought it at a craft shop somewhere. The instructions for use say it can be used for putting the baby in your bed to keep from rolling over on it or while on a trip at the hotel etc. It is adorable!! I would like to make one but have hunted everywhere for a pattern. PLeeeeeeease help Cindy

Well, my nephew C***** (He's about 6 months) came over, and he was a bit fussy. So I wanted to make him something to keep him occupied, but it had to have no small parts. So I made him a little rattle thing. You can't get the green rods out without taking the whole thing apart. Which is really difficult. I'll also try to incorporate it into a "noisy ball machine" I'm going to make.

OK so today I went to my local fish store and got 3 new silver mollies and some plants for my community tank, and after I floated the bag and was about to strain the bag to get the fishes out I noticed little fry in the corner of the bag. After I put the silver mollies in the tank I put the fry in my floating fry net. 9 little baby mollies :P <>< <>< <><

Bluebirds were nesting in a house in the backyard. Hadn't seen them for a day or two. Went out to take a look and there are 4 dead babies laying on the ground, sooo sad. We have a hawk in the area, would he have done this? Wouldn't think he could get his head in the house. Central WI area if that helps.

This brings to mind the concept of the Uncanny Valley except, it's not almost human-like... it's not really almost seal-like either, I think, but I've never been in close contact with a baby seal so how would I really know?Apparently this is supposed to be "healing". Not sure what kind of injury it would help with.Anyway, check out the video. The squeaking at least surely could have been done better...

I am about to endeavor to start making a quilt out of my children's baby clothes which are made of various fabrics, some of which are t-shirt fabric. I have never made a quilt before and really have no clue. I'm not thinking it will be perfect. I'm thinking of making 5 x 5 inch pieces. First question: do you think 5x5 or 6x6 pieces are a good size? Second question: for the t-shirt material, do I cut the square first and THEN fuse it to make it more stable? Or do I fuse first then cut into a square? I know I need to put 1/2 inch on all sides for seams? But still my main question is: cut then fuse, or fuse then cut? And really, it only needs to be nice enough so that I can gaze at it when I am older and it is covering my old painful knees and reminisce about my children when they were young. Thank you.

Homemade baby shower themes
Hi, recently my brother and I found a baby snapping turtle on the road. Do you know how or what we should do with it? There is a pond down the road, but before you say we should release it, keep in mind that it is only a little over an inch long. Should we take care of it until it gets big and then let it go? All help is appreciated.

Hey guys, I'm trying to learn the Arduino Uno. Actually it will show up via fed ex in 2 days. I was thinking about using it to build a an electric baby gate for the stairs. One that slides vertically and maybe opens via PIR sensor when people come downstairs. It would probably stop using some kind of switch and have a failsafe in case it closes and someone is in the way. Any kind of help would be appreciated. Thanks. P.S. I am still learning the Arduino code

I am planning a baby shower for my friend and we are expecting about 50-100 co-ed people. We already have a place picked out and now all the details need to be planned. Please comment if you have any stories that you would like to share about a baby shower that you attended or hosted where things went wrong and how you think the "fails" could have been prevented or avoided. Post any definite no, nos! To add to that, if anyone has any success stories about baby showers that they have been to, please share what made them great. I still need great game, food, and center piece ideas for a large group. Post any must have's! The theme is underwater and we would like to have as many cheap and environmentally friendly things as possible.

There were 5 rabbits but 2 died and 2 we haven't found the reason we know there are five is because we saw them the day before ,but didn't save them because we thought that the mother would come back Then the next day we saved them when we noticed only one was living. something sorta lucky happened... when we were on our vacation to Pennsylvania the rabbits cage tipped over and the rabbit got out and hid some where in our house. but my brother that stayed home so some one was there to look for him. He couldn't find him after like 2 hrs of looking he so he told my dog to find him and sure enough she sniffed him out in like 1 - 5 minutes. He ended up right behind the computer I am sitting at.... as I fix my grammar and spelling errors. he is also as big as a soft ball now :P that thing grows so dang fast.

My neighbors and I found to baby robins that were out of their nest today. They have some feathers, but not a lot. we used gloves to pick them up and put them back in their nest but they would not fit so we put some dead grass in a flower pot and put that in a tree with them in it. We saw the parents around which means they weren't totally abandoneed but I don't know if they will return to them since they saw us near thier babies. What should we do? Any help is appreciated.

I found some more metal and decided to make a third Baby Bear knife. Thanks to Alan Folts for the original design. He sells these now and I did not like the price, so I decided to make my own. Here is a picture of the semi-finished knife. It has curly(flame) maple handles that I found in the wood pile. I would like to make a Kydex sheath for it, but have not found a source that will let me buy a few or one sheet at a good price. Still looking. Anyone know of a good source please let me know. I only need a few sheets to start with. Carbon graphite looks cool.

Hello to All, This is a very mundane request but was wondering if anyone on this list would have the time to help me figure out how to make a monitor for my farm. I have dwarf dairy goats with a llama guardian but with the windows closed now for winter I can't hear if there is a problem. Sometimes they maybe almost 800 feet away. Liese, Piedmont region, NC

Hello there! I have been pondering an idea for awhile and I wish to pursue it. I want to take a baby toy, preferably a stuffed animal, and have it read the baby's temperature, or maybe take its pulse. This is all I have in mind, and would wish for any ideas on how to do this from you guys/gals! Please comment if you have any ideas on how I could do this. Thanks, ThatGuy9080

I kept hearing KEY...KEY...KEY... So I ventured out thinking it was some bird, I'm looking all over and keep hearing it. Search all over the yard, check the garage (it's trapped a bird before), nothing. But I keep hearing it, maybe it's coming from across the street? Man there's a lot of crap in the street, and it's moving, OH CRAP!! There's a squirrel dray in the street all torn up and three bloody, wet babies in the road. So I scoop them up into my robot shirt, where they promptly pee, not the worst thing I've had on me. ;-) I rush into the house and call my vet, since he used to rehab flying squirrels, and get the # for the "local" rehab place. It's in Bithlo, twenty miles away, that won't mean anything to you if you don't live in Fl. but it's the West Virginia of Fl, the nightmare before Christmas, and Baghdad all rolled into one. Let's cut this short, I got them there, the guy says they're in better shape than they looked, I gave them a donation for their care, and now I'm back home, realizing I'm nicer than I am reasonable, and that's okay with me...

I was outside reading by the fireplace when I heard a strange noise. I looked up and noted the noise was coming from Mazee's direction. It was a loud SQUEAK SQUEAK SQUEAK. I assumed it was her favorite squeaker toy. After about a minute, I saw a fully grown bunny sprint out of the trees next to Mazee. I laughed because Mazee loves to chase bunnies, and it looked like the bunny was taunting her. Mazee came trotting out of the trees with the squeaker toy in her mouth, squeaking away. She dropped the toy and it continued squeaking. Squeaker toys don't squeak on their own...I ran over there and what do I see? This little guy. Like all other times Mazee's found a baby, it was completely unharmed. I found the nest and put him back, I also put a doggy fence around the nest. Hopefully the mother will return.

I want to change the default music loaded generally in a baby music mobile like the one shown in the picture. Does any one have an idea on how to do this? I remember from my childhood the barbie dolls which used to cry when the soother was removed from the mouth of the doll, That doll used a gramophones like technology to play the sound. I am not sure what type of music recording and playing mechanism is used in these devices. thanks for all your answers in advance.

I always wondered, If there can be 'test tube babies', could the placenta possibly be delivered whole and alive and the baby continue to develop outside the womb but in a womb like environment. or possibly in the womb of another animal. I'm wondering, could there be 'test tube adults.' who come into this world fully grown? What feeds the placenta? Amniotic fluid? Blood?

Almost everyone will be excited about planning a great party. There is huge expectation when it comes to hosting baby shower parties also. There are many kinds of parties which you can attend. However there are some elements which are essential to make the party a success. There are hundreds of baby shower ideas for dummies online. You must first of all know what events will find a place in a baby shower party. These ideas must also be heartfelt. The first important baby shower tip for dummies is with respect to the venue of the baby shower. For this baby shower idea you can take the advice of friends and family who have conducted such events lately and will have all the information. You can also search for information from hotels, restaurants etc where events are sometimes held or you can also find details from the local community center. You can also host the party in the form of an outdoor garden party.Baby Shower

Disasterous news - I snapped my Instructables Leatherman, that has been somewhere about my person almost every day for more than five years. :'-( It's not an actual blade, it's the awl, but it's still left a painful, jagged stump that stops the tool being pocket-friendly (see the second photo). Do I just grind the stump off smoothly, or can the awl be replaced? UPDATE: it cannot be repaired, only replaced, so I'm going to grind it down to a new, shorter point.

I'm wondering if anyone has any idas on how I could make a cheap, portable baby yard style fence. For those who don't know, I'm talking about a 2.5'ish foot fence that can circle around and attatch to itself, essentially trapping your kid in an area. The commercial ones tend to cost 50 and up if you hope to give the kid a decent amount of area. I'm just wondering if anyone here has come up with a solution, or has an idea in their head that make work. Thanks, Tony

An engineer in Cornwall delivered his baby son after watching an instructional video on YouTube.Marc Stephens watched the videos as a precaution when his wife Jo started to feel some discomfort.Four hours later, his wife went into labour and started giving birth before an ambulance could arrive at their home in Redruth. Mr Stephens said his wife was on all fours when he saw the head starting to come out."This is our fourth child now and while for our first I spent most of the time at my wife's head, now I'm not afraid to go down to the business end. He's 17 pounds! He's huge. Three times the size of either of the girls. He's two years old - still a baby. We just brought him home today. He's still shy so the pictures are not that great. Didi loves him, she's been following him around all over. Jade hates everyone and she's hissing and hitting like mad. But she'll get over it. She always does. :D

My sister is having a baby and we are throwing her a baby shower in June for about 40 people. We want to have some unique shower favors, and I know that someone out there has the perfect idea. DIY items are preferred over something bought in the store because it is fun to make it yourself and can be personalized! Thanks!

I have some kits to make the baby quilt featured in my instructable: https://www.instructables.com/id/Tummy-Time-Baby-Quilt/The kit is $15 and includes all the blocks and border fabric, backing fabric, cotton all-natural batting, and printed instructions -- everything but the thread, needle, and sewing machine! There are some choices for backing fabric (yellow print, aqua print, purple print, etc.). The finished quilt measures about 36x36". The fabrics shown are the fabrics you will be getting; the only differences will be the color of backing fabric (on the back side of the quilt).Shipping: Choose either flat-rate priority mail or actual parcel post to your location (probably $5-10).
