This is my first post to the forums, just wanted to let you know of the error message on https://www.instructables.com/id/Knockdown-Illuminated-SIgnboard-D%CB%8B%85g%0F%0B%7F/ I love the site, and can't wait to learn more!

11 days ago, I contacted the other Anolon winners (Thanksgiving challenge) to see if their cookware had arrived. It hadn't. As per a suggestion from mikeasaurus, I sent an email to firstname.lastname@example.org regarding the prizes. Didn't hear back, so I emailed again last week. Still no word. Is there a different robot I should be contacting? ;-)

While editing the Intro of an unpublished instructable, I clicked on the "Library" tab to delete an unwanted image. Then I selected the "Upload" tab, and uploaded two replacements. When I scrolled up, all the Intro body text was gone. Kaput. It had been entered and edited several times the day before, so it wasn't a "you didn't save your changes" bug... ------------------------------------------------ Update --------------------------- Another minor bug, on my You page: Instructables: You've published "X instructables." You're working on "X instructables." If you click the You're working on "X instructables." link, the counter at the top says Unpublished (0). But if I select the Instructables tab at the top, it correctly lists Unpublished (1).

Wikipedia, a endless source of information, but how accurate is this information? i have noticed that in my school we are not allowed to use Wikipedia as a source for information now. it has to do with the fact that anyone can edit Wikipedia with wrong information. but i have noticed that they need citation and if they don't it gets marked with a (citation needed) thing right by it. so what do you think, should it be allowed to be used for school projects and what not, or baned from that?

There is an ‘ible that is totally worthless. The author basically brags that “he did it, but isn’t going to tell you how.” It’s completely against the spirit of this website. Here is the ‘ible… https://www.instructables.com/id/Ethernet_Commodore_64/ (Note, I don’t know if the author has other good or bad ‘ilbes, but this one should be removed.) Once done, you can then delete this topic. 8>)

For the last month I have not been able to see te complete Instructable email when viewed with Incredimail. I haven't updated Incredimail so it shouldn't be that. I get just what fits in the preview pane and the progress bar shows a full indicator. If i double click in the e-mail to open it separately i get the same problem. I can however see the e-mail if i select forward or reply but of course no links are active so I can't get at them from there. When the e-mail is selected for viewing you can't scroll down to see the rest. It works fine for all other e-mails I get. Attached is a screen shot showing the screen with the Insreuctable in the preview pane. Thanks Bill Laurin

Ok, so the school forces us to go to a crappy pep rally every time they have a football game. This one was the worst. They started out with a tribute to Michael Jackson. That was fine by me seeing how he is dead and I respect the memorial of dead people, but then they play his music through the WORST audio system ever made. It turned So-So (In my opinion) music into the worst ever. Then the school made us get up and do some of the moves for one of his songs, and I am not a dancing person, so you can imagine how pissed I was. They had their dance team do the moves for the rest of the songs, and then they put on stupid makeup to make the dancers look like zombies. It was just stupid because they just looked like clowns with big baggy white Tshirts. Then they had some random stupid stuff that was supposed to be for comedic humor, and I did laugh, but only because it was so stupid. (Hint: It involves transvestites). And then to make it worse, people start pulling out their cell phones and taking pictures like there is no tomorrow. At the VERY LEAST turn the flash and that shutter noise off. The end result was that I had a severe case of brain rot for 6 hours and I just recovered now. I think everyone who organizes pep rallies should be shot. At least make pep rallies optional. GAWD.

Nobody would walk up to a friend and say "Dat vid on youtube wus lol rigt?". See how idiotic that sounds?! Now i hope you learn from this, and go type normally.

This is sorta a bug, more likely bad programming When a comment is deleated, it doesn't neccesarly delete the comment If someone posted person information and deleated it, you can just go back through the comment tracker and read it what needs to be fized is that the comment tracker to deleate it too

Falls probably have seen my profile where it says I hate modern music. And I do. For A LOT of reasons. Mostly about love or ( Censored ) with the exception of a hand full. Has killed the drum and guitar solo, my favorite part of music. "Robotic" themes *cough* Lady GaGa *cough*' Have weird topics. Pretty much no relative respect for musicians. Can't understand half the lyrics. Very repetitive lyrics, well said by nigahiga. I need to think of more.

I came home from school and noticed a "you've been featured" message amongst my iBle messages. As surprised as I was, I was even more surprised that the Instructable in question was, IMO, my worst. I don't understand. How did my worst iBle, the one I was considering deleting, get featured? I made it one day because I was extreamly bored. Now all can see my low quality shame on the front page!*Is confused.*

.Let's imagine that you successfully created an intelligent machine, capable of thinking. The purpose of this machine would be to replace all of our governments and judges, so the world become a better and fairer place for every of its inhabitants. It would be an IA managed globalization. As you've just created this machine, her brain is empty. Like a tiny baby, she has to learn a lot ...Question : what facts would you teach her ? (given that your goal is to make her a fair judge and good world leader)What would you teach her to make her able to make the difference between what's good and what's bad ?

Just had to make a group for the terrible instructables. If you've ever felt the urge to point out a lame instructable, here's the place to do it. Feel free to post nominations in here. Of course, it's hard to follow the "be nice" policy with something like this. Really, though, if the instructable was that bad, the instructor usually didn't actually care to do it well. If they did try, and it just turned out bad, then they can still be added. Including a few tips on their page to encourage improvement wouldn't be a bad thing to do. Mostly, though, this is for those really terrible instructables that really should be deleted. Something like "Make light from matches. Instructions: Go to a dark room and light some matches." Have at it.

You know what really grinds my gears? This forum is made by me you should just tell me what makes you angry or grinds your gears. An example would be" you know what really grinds my gears when people fart in public then don't say anything and they do it repeatedly."

Right at the end of our daily meeting this foul stench began to swirl around us. We couldn't quite figure out what or where it was coming from, but it was nasty. At first we checked the laser cutter since some people in the building like to occasionally burn Stuff That Shouldn't Be Burned and oh man does it reek. But that wasn't it. We check the fridge, but it was fine. We even discovered that it was just inside the building, but we had no luck figuring it out. Then Mike from Potenco walked down the hall and said, "Oh, hey, sorry about the smell. I blew up the transformer." He grinned and walked off to find all the fans in the building to air the place out. Just another day at the tower and another experiment gone awry. But if you don't blow anything up, then you're not going to make any real progress, right?

Hello Anyone who reads this topic. I have massive problems viewing the instructables website ,in fact this problem stayed with me since i had my first psp,and then my new psp has the same problem. First,It randomly asks me if i want to save a file i think it is called tracking.jsp Second, the website shows up really messed up. Third if you want more info, browse the instructables website on a psp so you can see what i mean. Take a look at the pictures- oh yeah...its on the psps browser just in case you did not know Here are its specs, just in case you did not know Cpu clock 222MHz -max 333MHz Memory(RAM) 64Mb(unlike the 32 of the phat psp) Os running: CFW 5.00 M33-6(same thing happened in OFW 3.75 and OFW 5.00) Memory stick:1GB total/about 400MB free space As you can see in the pictures this is horrificly bad. Any ideas?

A thunderstorm rolled in at about 3:00 p.m. near my house in Aurora Colorado. I was amazed by the clouds that were present, and recognized some of them as "Mammatus Clouds." These clouds are fairly rare, I've only ever seen then twice. They are named "Mammatus Clouds" because they resemble a mammals breast. These clouds were not as distinctly mammatus as the previous ones that I had observed, but they are still mammatus clouds nontheless. I thought that these are really cool, and that someone might enjoy seeing them. Enjoy! 3:00-3:55 6-15-2012 Aurora, Colorado

Okay, We all know that K'nex is fun, and nearly everyone remembers playing with them when they were young. BUT, I have found that nearly every time that I try to find an Instructable on ANYTHING half or more of the title results come up as something like this "Seuper-Ultra Awsum L33T K'nex thing". We all know that K'nex is fun, but is it really necessary, that every time that your 8 year old son, (or, 8 year old self for that matter) builds something out of K'nex that looks remotely like ANYTHING you go post an Instructable on it. Now, I am not trying to bash on K'nex here, in fact, I love them, but I hate when people think in is necessary to torment the rest of the world with their primitive creations. Then again, this is just my opinion, please post your own. Long days, and pleasant nights, Aztof Du'Reth

Okay, these videos probably need some sort of context. Here's the context: my friends and I make script, film, and edit really bad movies in our spare time, and I am in a few of them. I thought I'd share them to you in all of their 'one-take-is-all-we-need' glory. The last video, 'Flagellant Affliction,' was scripted and directed by me, and it is truly, truly awful. My name is Andrew, so it shouldn't be too hard to figure out who I am in these if you look in the credits, but I can give you a description: I'm the one with the raging acne and reddish-brown hair. Now, once again (second time now) the trip to NYC has been canceled. Due to unavoidable problems with the Bus company - which tried to get more money out of us for the trip, we have had to cancel all my plans for this Sat. I am distraught to say the least....UPDATE:There is a possibility of my still being able to go...we shall see....UPDATE #2:Confirmed ! I am able to go after all.....I will have a little less cash since the bus will be a bit more, but I am going after all...

By now everyone that listens to music has probably heard (or heard of) autotune. It's been used for years to polish up pitchy vocals. Now it's more recognizable for being used on a totally different level. Autotune is the effect that T-Pain, Hellogoodbye (and by now, way to many others) use. At this point most people agree that it's way over used and just plain annoying. I have a poll to take. What song do you think actually uses it well? What's your vote for the Best Use of Autotune in a song?Mine is Woods, by Bon Iver.

If I had a dollar for every time I accidentally clicked on another place on the screen while working on an Instructable, resulting in loss of data... Even if you click the save button many times, if you suddenly quit, the editor won't remember what you did. I've seen SO MANY comments saying that the editor didn't save what they wrote right before uploading, so I decided to share what I do to help stop this... Most members will see this forum topic only when it's too late, but at least they might remember this for future I'bles... 1. Open a "Preview" version of the Instructable in a new tab. If your computer crashes, you might be able to restore previous tabs, and your computer should remember what was written in the preview. Then you can copy and paste everything where it needs to be... 2. Send yourself an email of each step. Just copy and words of each step and paste them on one draft email... 3. Take screenshots. At least you'll be able to see what you wrote... Hope this helps! Please leave ideas of what else you can do in the comments

I put Windows 7 pro on my gaming PC, oh my god, it sucks so damn bad! Good thing I dual booted with Vista, I have no clue what everybody was thinking when they said it was good! Every 10 minutes, blue screen on death. Tried everything, removing ram, taking out the video card, changing the power supply, plugging it straight into the wall with out the battery back up, nothing worked, so I booted Vista and it worked great, had it on for 2 days so far. And yes, my computer is very compatible with 64-bit. Windows 7 had a 10 minute maximum. Windows Vista just works, I just wish it had XP mode.

OK, so let's face it. I need to post something. I got Battlefield Bad co. 2, and remembered the XM8. Would any of you guys care if I made one? I'll try a mag release, and it'll use blue rods. To warn you- the mag release pretty much requires 2 broken white rods or more in the magazine. THANKS, BUILDER968

Well, my viewcount meter just kicked over 900,000. Not bad for sticking around a couple of years and making cartoons downfall vids poking fun at Kiteman ibles to pass the time. One of these days I'll make it into the millionaires club. Winning contests ain't bad. Racking up a wardrobe of Robot t-shirts ain't bad. Getting featured ain't bad. Racking up a ton of free pro memberships ain't bad. Trolling spammers ain't bad. Yup, not bad at all. Anyone else reaching a milestone or getting close to their goal? (for the interwebs challenged, the topic is a take on the "It's over 9000!" meme, look it up)
