I don't really know where to buy bikes at, but I sure as Hell need one. I need to know where I can buy a simple, non-expensive bike for preferably under 80 dollars. No mountain bike or fancy stuff like that. Just a normal bike, if you know what I mean. Thanks in advance, yo.

Hello, Have just made a bike trailer and used two suspension forks from the front wheel of a scrap bike to mount two 20 inch bmx wheels. Now the frame of the trailer is betweeen 5 and 10 cm below the level of the bike rack on the rear of my bike . Any suggestions as to how to couple the trailer to the bike? If needed I can provide photos if that would help

I like bikes and to see how other people have them set up. I've noticed that through the years I have collected a few photos of the different bikes I've gone through. If you have a photo (or a few) please post them....... I'd like to see. Feel free to include trailers, gear, or anything bike related. Thanks

Check out this collection of choppers, recumbents, tall bikes, and many more oddball ways of pedaling around. Kudos to all the folks who made these and ride them on the streets. It looks like a lot of fun. 20 of the Freakiest Custom Bikes on the Road via treehugger

I crashed my jet bike and do not need a jet engine anymore) (Note: do not build a jet bike, as you will crash it in a short amount of time.)

Hi ppl, thinking about building a tandem bike (with the idea of turning this into my mechanically powered water raft) and just wondering if anyone had advice? or, an Instructable on how to do so, had a quick look on here and couldn't find anything so any links would be appreciated. Thanks

After purchasing the toughest bike lock I could find, I got the wheels kicked in by a frustrated would-be thief who could only get through the plastic coating with whatever tool he was using. (he incidentally got all of the other bikes locked up outside my dorm.) The closest lockers are a 30 min walk away, and they only allow for a small, easily cut padlock. I have an uncharacteristically small dorm room, so racking it in my room isn't really plausible. Any ideas? Maybe a couple of spokes reinforced with steel bar, or a cheap homemade bike shed?

We needed 80 feet of 3/4" PVC from the local hardware store. Since it's pretty much impossible to park near it and the nearest available car was a couple miles away anyway we decided to carry it by bike. All we used was a couple pieces of inner tube and Brian's Xtracycle. I bet I could've pulled this off on another bike I've recently adopted, but we wanted to be safe. Speaking of safe, this rode pretty well, but the left turns were a little touchy as the front wheel would rub against the PVC. Good thing I was only going a few blocks. Along the way guy in the street told us that that was how the Vietcong would attack them. "They used to strap missiles to bikes! Heheh. Yeah, they kept getting us."

Hi, fora raft race contest for charity i would like to design something like this:http://www.edenvillage.com/Pond%20and%20Grounds/bike_boat.jpgfor two people! It has to be made from bits that can be readily available and for not too much moneys because the more cash that goes into the build the less there will be for the charity organising the event.Just wondering if anyone had any ideas, mostly for building the wheels, as, i hope the frame can be made from a modified bike. Thanks

Hello, Subject pretty much says all. I'm getting dizzy going through all the bike lighting projects here on Instructables :) Could anyone recommend a good setup that is : 1) Relatively low cost 2) Easy to do 3) Bright 4) Uses standard AAA or AA type batteries (already have these and great charger) 5) Possibly shared system for headlight and flashing tail light This is on a newer urban type bike, so I'd like something I can tie down pretty well. Been using the old hose clamp and 1 LED flashlight for a few years. It's not very good. Thanks for any pointers!

I ride in the San Jose Bike Party. One of the things that I like is the music. People with all sorts of boom boxes, dj systems, and lighting mounted all over their bikes or trailers. I would like to build something like that and I am checking out the many interesting projects listed here. I am wondering though, is it possible to speed the music up or down to match the bike speed, maybe with a magnet on the wheel and a sensor on the frame? I don't know if it would be a good idea, but the thought of a dirge when we are slow and chipmunks when we are fast is just funny to me.

So I've taken an indirect pledge not to commute to school VIA car - by not buying a parking decal... Since school started, I've commuted, by bike, nearly 400 miles. But now it's starting to get cooler. I really don't like riding in cold weather. I typically wake up cold, get ready (still feeling cold) and getting on a bike when it's cold out is pretty uncomfortable.... So, for my next ugly bike abomination accessory.... My first wind deflector fairing prototype. I made a model in SketchUp (this was my "learn to use SketchUp" project), then from that make a development drawing (3D shape to 2D cutout) and cut that out of some scrap cardboard (I've got quite a bit that I rescued). Yes, there are flaws in this design - it's my first attempt :p As of now, I need to figure out how to mount this thing. I currently have some surplus 1/4" threaded rod at my disposal, I'm going to grab some and see where it takes me :p Comments?
