End Zone card game (a great card game I made up)

END ZONE The Card Game End Zone is a fun card game using strategy while choosing a way to win. Here's one of the most interesting facts about End Zone: Only one deck is needed to play. Each deck must have exactly 100 cards. At the bottom is the Blackout card, or End Zone card. The blackout card has no picture. Each deck must have one blackout card. Each blackout card is placed at the bottom of the deck and must be shown to each player before being placed there. The whole point of the game is to get your opponent to draw the blackout card. But there is a catch. At no time can you look through the deck to see where the blackout card is. Any cards that were played are sent to the bottom of the deck at the end of the controller's turn unless stated otherwise. This is where strategy comes in. You will have to remember how many cards were already played in order to make an accurate guess where the blackout card is. Here are the basic steps to playing. 1.Each player draws three cards a the beginning of the game. Because there is only one deck, you would have to synchronize between draws meaning that you would draw a card, then your opponent would draw a card, then you would draw your second card, and so on. This only makes it fair. When it is your turn: 1.Draw one cards. 2.You must play one card. You are allowed to activate a card during the first turn. 3.Discard two cards `to the bottom of the deck. 4.End turn. When it is your opponents turn: 1.Opponent draws two cards. 2.If you have a card that has a lightning bolt in the top corner, you can play it after your opponent draws. 3.Opponent makes move. Once again, cards with a lightning bolt can be played. 4.Opponent discards two cards. 5.Opponent ends turn.

credit card readerin today's newsletter

In today's newsletter there's an advert for a credit card reader.  Is this the one that fraudsters use to read credit card details from ATMs?  If it is, please don't advertise how to do it. regards Deb Morrow

Replace sounds on greeting card sound module

Hello, I recently purchased this item from ebay. It's a "30s Light Sensor Record Device Module Music Box Sound Chip For Greeting Card" It comes with a pre-recorded happy birthday song. Now I want to change that song and I am pretty sure it can be done somehow, because I can see some connections available, except I am not sure what they mean and how to use them. The seller responded that there is no documentation and if I want certain sounds I have to send them the files and they will record them for me before shipping... which is ridiculous... I want to be able to change the songs when I please. The connections marked on the board say: TG1 TG2 TG3 GND VDD PW1 and PW2 Any suggestion could help.

I don't have any pictures of it as of now, but I was wondering if anyone might have some suggestions in what to use to soundproof a cheap little plastic card shuffler I bought yesterday for a couple bucks. I'm not sure what kinds of material I'd need, any suggestions?

Thank you 4 the Halloween Greeting Card!

Hi all! I want to end my procastination of thanking you for the unexpected Halloween Greeting Card that arrived some days before Halloween. I am having a very busy schedule, so I only remember that I should publish something the day that I return for a while to the site. But, I know that for many people, receiving this greeting card is going to encourage them a lot to collaborate with the site. And even to post an instructable. Since, the card reminds you that you are important, and that there is a community that cares for you. I appreciate the good work that this administration is doing. How could someone achieve this level of contience? Is there an instructable to learn how to get there? Thank you, very much! (And sorry for the delay, but the greeting card arrived on time, even to this country, Argentina, in South America) Alberto love

See data on credit card with rust

Want to see the information on the magnetic strip in your credit card? Just take some fine rust powder and blow it onto the card to see the magnetic bands that get picked up by card readers. This won't help you read the information any better, but it does show you the hidden world in magnetic cards and that's pretty sweet. Another Science Experiment via boingboing

Don't Do This To Your BART EZ Rider Card

BART, Bay Area Rapid Transit, recently issued RFID-based fare cards called BART EZ Rider. If you look closely, you can see where the actual chip is embedded within the card. Like other similar cards, I assumed there was a wire antenna also embedded in a rough spiral around the chip. The card didn't fit nicely on the outside of my Jimi wallet so I decided to cut a notch to make it fit better. While I didn't see any evidence of cutting the antenna, the card quit working. So, if you plan to chop your card, at least try the opposite side as mine!Since the Jimi only fits four cards inside, and I carry five, next up, cutting apart my Discover card...

Elementeo Chemistry Card Game

14-year-old Anshul Samar has created his own science-based fantasy card combat game Elementeo. Check out the interview with him below.Elementeo is a strategic battle game where you use your elements across the battlefield in reducing opponent's electrons to zero. You do that by harnessing the strength and moving properties of the elements and compounds, and by using their reactionary powers. For example, Oxygen can rust any neighboring metal or Copper Conductor can shock any metals and send them back to the deck. via Wired's Geekdad

As if I didn't have enough stress!

School sucks right now, have an A,B,C,& D, I'm stressed about that. But I come home today and I check my bank online and see that someone's used my debit card # to purchase $300 worth of soccer jerseys (WTF? SRSLY). SO I immediately call the bank (india) and tell them, guess what, since it's only pending they can't do anything, even though I alerted them, I have to wait until the money is stolen out of my account to file a fraud dispute, ridiculous. At least, I limit my liability to $50 by reporting it within two days (per FTC.gov), but it's a damned ass backward way to do it. BTW the banks solution, call the merchant, sigh, well their 800 number rang and rang, the other contact number went to voice mail, so they got a long detailed message. And of course, I cancelled my card, not at the banks suggestion. I has bad feeling about what a PITA this is going to turn into...

Motor Driver IC Blown up. Wish to know what went wrong

I am using 11.1V 25C 3700mAh Lipo Battery for powering up Motor driver Card (Dual DC Motor Driver 20A) Motor driver Product Link: http://robokits.co.in/motor-drives/dual-dc-motor-driver-20a . Basically, I tried connecting two motors instead of single Motor on each motor port on the driver. So in all 4 DC motors connected as the motors had no load. As per my calculations, all 4 DC motors together cannot draw more than 4 Amps of current. DC Motor Specifications 10 RPM High Torque Dc Motor. Link : http://robokits.co.in/motors/high-torque-dc-geared-motor-10rpm?cPath=2_3& During this check I noticed that one of the IC LR 7843 on the motor Driver Card got burnt, the moment I powered it up with LiPo Battery. Really don't Know why this happened.... Can someone please help me....

snap board concept

Hello everybody, this is a new idea of mine that I want to share with you. the snap board concept. It is made of zip lock bags, card board, and duck tape. This idea could be used in notebooks or you could just make a wall of this and make all different bags and holders that snap on to the zip lock rail. You can slide the bags from side to side if you want. I might put this in a notebook case so that I can customize it with pencil holders and other organizers. Or I might make it so that I can snap on different covers and stuff like that . Please tell me any other ideas to use this idea and comments. I will post an Instructables when I make a true model and get feedback. Please comment and subscribe

Cardboard Bicycle

At the moment, it's just a design student's prototype, but I think this ridable cardboard bike has real legs, er, wheels.Built from a single sheet of industrial-strength hexacomb card, the frame should cost as little as 3GBP ($6), and the tiny proportion of metal parts means the bike has a projected selling price of 15GBP (about $30). For that, you get a bike that will survive about 6 months of daily commuting, or a lifetime of the kind of riding most people do.The designer, 21 year-old Phil Bridge, predicts the design will cut bike crime by simply being too cheap to be worth pinching (currently, a bike is stolen and abandoned every 71 seconds in the UK). It also provides an opportunity for sponsorship:"The idea was that it would be a sponsorship from a company who would produce these and get some advertising it. And once you've used it, you'd return it they'd give you another one, they'd take all the metal components out and put them into a new frame and the old frame would go back to the manufacturer."BBC Manchester articleBBC South Yorkshire article

3-D Baseball Card Webcam System

In an effort to bring baseball card trading into the 21st century, and aid falling revenues, playing card manufacturer Topps developed an interactive 3-D baseball card experience using specialized cards and a computer webcam."Since the 1950s, Topps has sold baseball trading cards filled with photos and stats, bringing the game to life. Now the company is bringing its cards to life.""Beginning Monday, collectors who hold a special Topps 3D Live baseball card in front of a webcam will see a three-dimensional avatar of the player on the computer screen. Rotate the card, and the figure rotates in full perspective. It's called 'augmented reality,' a combination of a real image with a virtual one."Webcam Brings 3-D to Topps Sports Cards The New York TimesTopps 3-D Live Toppstown.com

Credit card crystal radio

What do you think about the feasibility of a credit card sized crystal radio? (Fits inside a wallet) Some possible i though so far are... A simple pcb with a diode, and a capacitor and a coil wrapped(protected by duct tape) around it. The antenna has to be tied to a hole on a corner. Or it is coiled to the card, ready to be unwrapped. The ear piece can either be external... Or can be glued to the card itself, but you must put the card near you ear... Instead of a winded coil, maybe it can be part of the pcb design itself... and to tune it, you unhook a beady wire and place it in the holes placed in a interval. What do you think? Any more ideas? In fact. a competition can be made for this idea.

Kickstarting a card game! World Gates: TCG

Decided to do a Kickstarter for a card game I've had in mind for a few years. It was mainly just to be used as a character's ability in a comic I do but I'm like "What the hey..." and revised it a few times. I've made a demo set for myself with roughly 54 cards (currently I've made 155+ cards cause I have too much time on my hands). But it could be fun, I've posted a rulebook for the game that will be updated as time passes. Sometimes you just have to see what sticks X3 Link: World Gates: TCG

Tethered SD card

I would like to tether a cheap digital camera. The problem is I don't know which one - I'm watching on ebay for a madly cheap camera (I've seen loads go where they're fine except for a stuck zoom - like 6Mp cameras for about £3 - when every time I've looked at a stuck zoom a bit of twisting and brute force will get it back in to the body - and the project I want it for doesn't need to zoom!). Problem with doing this is that by the time I've found a cheap camera with 2 minutes to go, it tends to take a lot longer to that to figure out whether you can tether it. And even then you're normally limited to the provided software, I'd like to be able to write my own. So - can anyone think of a way to take an old SD card and somehow - I don't know - solder wires to the insides of the contacts maybe - and then somehow get those wires into another old SD card and plug it into the card-reader attached to a PC so that you can read the images without unplugging the "card" from the camera?

Reading 12 rows of data from an SD card every minute and storing the data into Arrays using Gboard pro Arduino

Hi, I am working on a project that measures temperature and current, store it on an SD card (csv file) and send them to a website. I decided to sample the signals every 5 seconds and store the data to the SD card using time interrupt (TimerOne). My plan is to sample and store data for 1 minute and then read the sampled data from the SD card and store them into 2 Arrays i.e Array1 for temperature and Array2 for the current and send the data to the website. Thus far I have managed to sample and store the data using the time interrupt. I also included a count variable in the interrupt subroutine so as to know how many times the interrupt has occurred. Since I am sampling and storing the data every 5 seconds and I want to read the data stored in the SD card every minute, so when count = 12 I would like to read  the last 12 readings (24 since its current and temperature ) and store them into 2 Arrays.   The problem I have is that I do not know how to read the data from the SD card and store them into two Arrays and would like your help. Note: the Reading of the SD card will not be in the Interrupt subroutine Any help or suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thanks Muundu
