Ideas for a creation?

Hi all, I've got an opportunity to lay hands on this sweet wifi webcam:  http://goo.gl/I4hpFZ Thing is, I've already got one monitoring my 3D printer, and I'm not exactly chomping at the bit to spy on my roommates when I'm away.  I've got a couple ideas about what to do with it, but I thought I'd throw it open to the community:  got any cool ideas for interesting ways to use/alter/hack/repurpose something like this? Currently I'm considering tearing into it and using the remotely controllable pan and tilt motors to turn it into a mars rover for my house, possibly fitted with a laser to annoy my cats.  What do you think? Lego Creations

I came across not one, but two very cool Lego sculptures. The first is a perfect rendering of Le Corbusier's Villa Savoye, one of the most famous houses in architecture. Make sure to check out the original pictures of the house along with the Lego reproduction if you haven't seen the house before. The second is a must-see for all Star Wars fans: a nearly 4,000 piece, $400 dollar Lego Death Star diorama. It comes complete with Lego-ized versions of all of the major characters and depicts 14 scenes from the IV and VI. Bad news for all you Jar Jar Binks fans, though: Lego Jar Jar is not included in this set.Villa Savoye via MakeDeath Star

Batched file creation

I would like to have a simple batch file that would allow me to copy the entire contents from the system drive (C:) to a signal directory on another drive, In others words I want copy of the entire directory tree including all file but stored in one directory. I assume it can be done with xcopy. I use to right this type file all the time but the year have taken that ability from me. Thank for any help you can give me.

Get into PCB creation? Answered

Well I just realized over the past few weeks that I really need to start getting onto the PCB bandwagon and start manufacturing my own stuff...  So... I need materials and instructions on how to make my own PCBs... I have copper boards already (sourcing them is not a problem...), and i am pretty good at designing boards in EAGLE (I find it fun), but I need a method of etching them.... I have tried many toner methods and they never work how I like, I always get some pretty big mistakes and etching them sucks...  I have heard of photo resist methods, and it sounds wonderful because it has a pretty good accuracy and can go down to some pretty fine wiring... My only problem is that you have to get presensitized boards (Expensive!), as well as other chemicals... As for etching, I think I am fine, I have used a vinegar/salt/something combo and it works pretty well, just takes a while to etch.. I have some muratic acid but that stuff is nasty so I have never really tried that.. Anybody have any non-toner PCB creation process that is pretty inexpensive? (I am in high school and have a limited budget already...)

Your Earliest Creations

What were some of your earliest creations? My first year in the college dorm, I hacked an alarm clock to turn on a light, and/ or radio in my bunk. Although there were existing light timers on the market, they were noisy, and inaccurate. My design had the option of switching on the light by the alarm, or with a toggle switch. It also had a low power neon bulb with which to check the time. It was all very easy to switch by touch.  Looking back, there were some funny things about it. I knew nothing about wirenuts. All the connections were soldered, then insulated with silicon caulk. All the switches and connections were installed in a box which had  held my crayons in elementary school. Hah. I still like physical buttons. I still have buttons on my cell which I can feel. I like that. I may have ta give that up soon to get a phone with the features I want. That whole braille operation thing, however, goes back to wanting to operate the thing in the dark, or while my eyes are on somethin else (like the road?)  All in all, I'd rather have a microwave with 2 intuitive dials than with fancy features which need 100 watts of lighting when I just want a midnite snack. But I ramble. Back to the original question: What did you make when you were young(er)

Coded Creations Contest Is Not Ending?

Hello, For some reason, the Coded Creations contest has not ended, even though it was supposed to end (sponsor announces winners) yesterday. On the contest page, it says "Contest Closed". However, it does not display winners. And on the contest list, it says Coded Creations contest is being judged. Is this a bug? Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but I really want to see if I won anything.

Best and Favorite Knex Creations

I have been using knex probably for over 10 years and I have built a ton of different weopons and things but a fwew stick out. I do love my new transformers but my best work was a wearable mech suit. The boots could hold over 200 lbs and covered the whole body. My favorite was an AT-AT from starwars where if you hit the underbelly of the walker the head falls off and it drops to the floor like the movie one. I want to know people Best and favorite knex creations over the years.

Best knex creations of 2010

So another year has rolled by.  Many new things were posted, some were pretty good!  Now I am hosting a community contest to see what people liked the most.  There are 3 categories, and you can select up to 3 creations for each category (You don't have to pick 3 if you don't want to).  So you can pick your top 9 most favorite creations of the year.  The categories are: Best overall Knex gun Best Knex replica Best non-gun. You can select a creation to go in more than 1 category.  For example, if you thought a knex replica of a real life rollercoaster was good, you could vote for it in the "Best knex replica" and "Best non-knex gun" categories. There are some restrictions of course.  The creations you vote for HAVE to have a post date of 2010.  Preview pictures can be posted earlier than that, but they have to be posted this year.  Also, you cannot pick a gun that you made.  For example, I cannot vote for my Halo Battle rifle to go in "Best knex replica".  If the creation you vote for came from a site outside of Instructables or KI (like Youtube), you will need to provide a link for it. What are you waiting for?  Get voiting!  I'm giving away patches to the top 3 winners in each category, plus a patch for my personal favorite, which makes 10.  Voting ends Monday, January 24, which gives you 3 weeks to vote.

Vibrating Finger Ring Creation

I'm looking for someone to build me a finger ring that has some kind of vibration/impulse capability that is pre-set to vibrate at certain times and/or intervals throughout the day. I will create a website where the user enters in when, or at what durations, they want it to vibrate. This is then somehow sent to the ring and it vibrates accordingly.  Looks are not really important but not being bulky is desirable. Is this possible? Let me know your thoughts and cost estimates and I'll respond asap.  Thanks for reading.

Creation? Religion? Read this first.

Please, this is not the place for arguing about religion, especially creationism. Any proper scientist or engineer (and a true Maker falls into one or both of those categories) knows about evidence, and knows that there is no evidence to support the existance of any deity, and none to support the concepts of a divine creation, a Young Earth, Noah's Flood etc.Such discussions do not belong here. But, if you really feel the need to argue about such superstitious nonsense (and I was doing my best to follow the "be nice" policy when I chose those words), then, please, try any or all of these sites first:http://www.factsforum.org/http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbreligion/ (not open 24hrs, but worth the effort)http://richarddawkins.net/homehttp://www.talkorigins.org/http://www.pandasthumb.org/http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/quran/index.htmhttp://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/BOM/index.htmIf you're just interested in the biblical viewpoint, or just fancy gasting your flabber, then try:http://www.answersingenesis.org/http://www.drdino.com/http://www.drdino.com/http://www.creationscience.com/onlinebook/index.html(Please note, I do not not endorse the views of the four websites above, in fact I heartily condemn them as a bunch of lying, fraudulent hypocrits. You can tell them I said so, and they can take me to any court in the US or UK, but it's up to them to prove they're not a bunch of the most evil, wilfully-ignorant taHqeq.)

Oompa-Loompa's Phun creations

Using the "Phun Physics Sandbox" program I created a few quality models.... enjoy. This forum will be updated every time I create a new post-worthy contraption. MotoCycle - A detailed motorcycle with shocks. MotoCycle_Penned - Self explanatory for Phun Savvy 'Iblers. Cool_Catapult - Semi-automatic catapult with a firing lever and destructable wall target. Offroad_Jeep - Cool detailed model of a jeep with enhanced suspension, however unrealistic the suspension may be due to its odd angle. Crashcar_2.0 - My second attempt at a crashcar that came out really sweet. This is one of my favorites!!! With decapitation-action crash dummy!!! Button of Mystery - Just a silly contraption I created one day while I was bored. HumveeInteractive_FINAL - A really cool little Humvee with various interactive parts. For some reason this seems to have a low density, although it's not any less than my other projects. -Note- that all controls for the contraptions are described in the info bar of the file, which pops up when you go to save the file.

Co worker

How do you deal with a co worker who does all the work and won't share any of it? I try to do as much as I can, but I feel like my two co workers are just moving on without me not giving me a chance to do any solid work. Our project has a lot of coding in it, but I'm not good at programming. Still, I wish they would let me know what they were doing and if there was anything I could do to help. All I end up doing is working on documents, presentations, and maybe sometimes I'll wire together a circuit. Which is not what I want to do. I want to do something that is actually related to engineering... Any advice would be great.

CNC Router for Aluminum mold creation? Answered

I know nothing about CNC routers, but I'm curious about aluminum mold fabrication.  Can anyone suggest a good instructable that would be useful in creating a CNC router that would be up for the job.  The aluminum block is 4"x3"x1".  It is completely blank so I need a router to remove the metal to create a mold.  I'm not sure how accurate these things are, but it needs to be very accurate.

Call to arms: malleable interface creation!

Hello! My name is Luiz Gustavo, and I'm a brazilian design student. First of all, this is my very first post at this space, and I'm very very open to hear whatever critics or opinion of everyone. My hardware & electronics knowledge is very limited, so I'm opening the whole creation of the following project to whoever is interested in co-creating it with me. As part of my ongoing graduation project, I want to create a malleable interface using textiles. The idea is pretty simple. I want to create an open-source hybrid object, a digital raw data generator, consisted of a highly malleable interface that is capable of being folded, twisted and adjusted to the will of its user: an interface as simple and soft as a piece of silk fabric. The data generated must give the current state (deformation and positioning) of the malleable object to a digital output in realtime. The malleable object has to be modular, as well as a little stretchable. I really want to create something that can be remounted, modified, and used in different kind of contexts - not so only as my main purpose at the creation of an experimental art installation I've been working on as my graduation project. At this website I've posted a larger description of my intentions with this interface, as well as a first draft of it: http://theinstrumentproject.tumblr.com/ I'm not quite sure how's that going to be done, what have already been done in this area, what kinds of open hardware I can use, sensors and so on. I'm really starting this research right now, but it would help a lot to at least hear some possibilities from anyone. I'm very very open to hear any kind of contribution! Thanks! [= Best regards, Luiz Gustavo. (lgguts@gmail.com).

My never-published K'nex creations

These are just a couple of my creations that I never posted. I'm don't have most of them anymore, so don't even ask for me to post. Hope you like them! 1 And 2 are my gatling gun. This was a great gun, but the motor was not powerful enough to push the triggers. I liked it because it had the switch for the motor build right onto the handle. 3 And 4 are my version of spider massacre. It was a great gun, it shot 60 feet with 2 rubberbands (the ones on in the picture). 5 And 6 are a really good magazine I made. 7 Is my modded dd-27. It was not a big mod, but it is still one of my favorite guns. 8 Is my Semi-Auto. This was a excellent gun, but took a while to reload. 9: The front of my modded Pineapplebob's sniper. This mod helped a lot. 10 is my sniper. Silentassasin actually made a Instructable for this one. 11 and 12: A really old mod of foresthell12's gun. it was excellent. Redneckobseesed expanded a little more on this one and came up with the ROSP. Thats it! Thanks for having a look at this forum.

Arduino genuino 101 iBeacon creation

Hi all, Really quick question: I'm trying to create an iBeacon (or normal beacon) out of the Arduino Genuino 101 board .. it has a built in Bluetooth module but I can't find the code to turn it into a beacon (which I can then use Evothings to create an app to interact with it) - how do I do this / is this possible?  I also have seperate bluetooth modules that I've bought in case I should use that? Ultimately how do I make the Bluetooth module start to transmit the UUID required for the phone to pick up?  If anyone has any code they can show me or anything that would be great - I'm a complete novice! Thanks! Max

ID/Creationism trolling an academic requirement?

This could explain a lot. (From RichardDawkins.net via Slashdot )Apparently, the course on "Intelligent Design and Christian Apologetics" at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary has, as a requirement worth 20% of the final grade, "(4) provide at least 10 posts defending ID that you've made on "hostile" websites, the posts totalling 3,000 words, along with the URLs (i.e., web links) to each post (worth 20% of your grade)."The next time I see a lengthy, ad-hominem-laden, scientifically dubious argument for Intelligent Design on this site I'm going to wonder whether it is a college student fulfilling course requirements by trolling. I notice that reading the replies to your 3,000 words of propaganda isn't required. Now we just have to find whoever it is offering photocopies of Tesla's secret notebooks and plans for perpetual motion machines if you post enough stuff supporting overunity HHO generators.Note to those so inclined: this is not flamebait, I'm reporting a piece of news relevant to this community (because of our semi-regular flamewars debates about ID etc.). Flames will be reported as spam and subsequently ignored. Intelligent Discussion will be welcomed.

DIY Batman Tumbler is Ultimate Fan Creation

The new Batman movies are so awesome that this fan decided to make his own version of the Tumbler, Batman's burly ride. The final cost is around $50k-$70k and an undoubtedly insane amount of time devoted to research, design, and fabrication. Oh, and he made a kickass Batsuit as well. Nutty. Link

iPods as scientific tools (app-creation challenge)

I can't help noticing that there are a lot of kids with iPods at my new school. I have a half-warmed idea that this is an under-exploited resource - these things are packed with sensors that most schools cannot afford to buy for themselves. Does anybody know of any apps that can be used to easily access this data in a form useful for students?  For instance: the iPod replaces the bob in a pendulum and records the time it takes to swing, and the forces acting at each moment of the swing, then displays the data in a graph on the iPod, or uses the wifi link to email the document in a form that can be used by an Excel spreadsheet. And not just acceleration and time, but sound and light (isn't there an ambient brightness detector in there somewhere?). Suggestions? Any recommendations? Edit Kitewife bought me an iPod Touch for Christmas!  I have so far installed the following apps that use the on-board sensors; SPARKvue (accelerometer display), Signal Gen (an audible signal generator), SoundLevel (a free decibel meter / sound oscilloscope) FreqCounter (displays a continuous full-screen oscilloscope display Decibel 10 (analogue & digital sound level meter, which will email data for you) SpiritLevel & iTools (for measuring angles and levels by moving the iPod) Protractor (lays a protractor over the view through the camera, allowing you to measure "real" angles you can't reach (say, of a roof-line, or between branches of a tree). What I cannot find (yet) is a decent app that gives a class-room-useful read-out of light levels - they don't tell you the light-level, they tell you what f-stop to use on your camera. The next job is to find ways to use them in lessons, or as homework tasks. Question: Is anybody reading this able to actually create their own iPod Touch apps?  The apps I've downloaded so far are fine, as far as they go, but they really need a better way of getting the data out in a form that can be manipulated (eg by spreadsheets).

my new knex creation... the destroyer machine gun!!

My newest creation... the distroyer. the gun lives up the the name. it is a 36-shot machine gun. you could also call it a gatling gun. it is compleately my creation. i am thinking about posting instructions but i do not have lots of time to do it. also it is a very big gun. most people will not have the peaces to make it anyway. it uses ruffly 680 peaces. it moves fast. it can shoot all 36 shots in + or - 5 seconds. also this verson of the gun is a bit rofe. before i even think about instructions it will need some moding.

Update on Team Instructables in the Red Bull Creation Contest

Team Instructables participated in the Red Bull Creation Contest this past weekend: a harrowing 72 hours of intense building. We had an amazing and exhausting time, and are still recovering from lost sleep and too many energy drinks. See the original post about the build here. The build is over, but the contest is not! Voting starts July 25th. The contest hosts are collecting some media from every team, which will go on their website. But we thought you deserved the first look at what we made: Psycho Scooter Scramble the blind-driving electric wheelchair game Psycho Scooter Scramble is a game for four: two riders and two pilots. The trusting rider is strapped into an electric wheelchair, placing their life in the hands of a blindfolded pilot. The pilot controls the rider's careening wheelchair from the sidelines based on shouted headset commands from the rider. The basic mechanic is simple: players must drive across the court to get a ball from a stand, then drive back across to put the ball in a hoop. This action is repeated until all four balls have been scored or the timer runs out. However, since there is an inevitable disconnect between the pilots’ steering and their teammates’ intentions, wheelchairs zigzag across the court at high speeds, colliding with each other, ball stands, the scoreboard, and everything else, making full use of the custom steel bumpers and creating hilarious mayhem for the benefit of onlookers and players alike. It's kind of like this: (wonderful descriptive graphic by fjordcarver) I've uploaded our best gameplay (and a few build) photographs to this post. Here is a video of how it works:   More videos can be found on Instructables TV. Big thanks from the Instructables Build Team! Thanks also to our last-minute build helpers: Eric, Jessy, Matt, and Jake. We couldn't have done it without you. We really can't thank you enough for supporting us in this contest and in our build. Particularly on the last day, is our state of sleep deprivation and occasional desperation, we needed the emotional support of everybody in our Instructables community. (Special shout-out to fjordcarver for exceptional support over the LiveStream.) Final thought: This game is awesome. Win or lose, we're glad we did it, because there is truly no game in the world that is quite like Psycho Scooter Scramble. Also, we learned that you can get a sweet electric wheelchair on Craigslist for under $200, and have some idea how to hack it. And that knowledge is priceless. Look for an Instructable, coming soon, on how to make Psycho Scooter Scramble yourself! Starting July 25th, this project and those of the other 11 teams can be found here. Laugh, cry, enjoy, and remember to vote! If we win, we get to show this off at World Maker Fair in New York. (And yes, if you're there, you can play too.)

Want to play a Collaboration Game?

Oh my... Coffee beans!(Sorry - had to create a new thread, would not let me edit)Challenge: Oh my! I lost my precious coffee beans! I need to travel around the world searching for them. Will you help me stay awake for that? Collaborate and innovate together - find a new way to filter coffee! Do not use anything expensive and try not to create too much waste ;) Let's go!... How does this game work: 1) First collect ideas for a coffee filter here under this thread until Sunday 24th midnight PST - write what you think would work freely!2) Discuss the ideas here, while they are being collected.3) Select one idea and form teams - prototype together, form an Instructable, make it Collaborative. Or alternatively, just add in your existing Instructable and make it Collaborative. Innovate together! A very rough prototype that shows the principle is sufficient. The time limit for this step is to be announced - not more than several days.4) Collect the 'ibles here under this thread (or I could make a collection of 'ibles if possible) 5) Let's vote and see which new coffee filter is the best!...I will always be around here - you could ask me anything and give feedback, too :).Disclaimer: This is part of a research for my PhD at Istanbul Technical University, department of Industrial Design. The research is strictly non-commercial, only for academic purposes and not financed in any way. The only objective of this game is to encourage collaboration and innovation in communities, in a playful and fun way. Cool Crafty CREATIONS (for little & big peeps of all ages)

As a new mom (of six months) to a beautiful baby girl, Madeline Ann, I LOVE how I can merge my passion of creating and parenting together! Right now, I create big girl things for myself still mostly & cute things for my tiny tot. I love checking other creative momma's ideas out. (or creative people's creations', period) I started a blog www.kreativekatiekonnect.blogspot.com and I've learned that blogging as a new mom is HARD! I just can't find the time to be as consistent as I like and haven't really gotten the knack of documenting all of my projects, photographing each step, editing, writing, posting & then SHARING hoping for followers. Maybe, folks in this group who have a little blogging experience can help me out with this.  This group is made by Me for You creative folks who love to make/create almost anything & everything. (From drawing potraits, photography, any cool crafting, sewing, mod podging, refurbishing & the list could keep going to infinity, really!) I have been refurbishing old furniture lately, painting & personalizing mailboxes, creating really cool stuff for my little one & TRYING to sew a few things here and there for her (and would love to for myself). I am hoping I can share some of my ideas with you and vice versa!  I love new ideas & I really hope you will join up with me and share yours along with enjoying one's that I share with you! Please excuse my POOR grammatical errors and lack of good writing/typing.  It's difficult to type while holding a baby, rocking, ect. LOL So, bare with me & excuse my writing, but appreciate my creativity because I CAN'T WAIT to see your creations. Entire Step deleted? iPhone/online back and forth creation

Anybody have this come up: I am working on an Instructable, going back and forth working from my iPhone app and online, saving it to Instructables.com always, and I just signed in online and my entire Intro and pictures are just gone. The Intro was saved on my iPhone app, but the other steps are not there so I have a sort of workaround. Is this a known glitch??

Is the "Popular" sort function in Contests Broken?

Looking at the sorting in contests when you sort by "Popular" 'ibles with fewer views (both daily and since creation) are ranked significantly higher than others with more views (Daily and since creation).

Is there a cheap creation to make a 110v 9-45 mA power system?

I am looking at three ways for this right now. My preferred long game is a solar cell block (minor one, i am not sure of the power output calculator cells have, but along that size I am guessing) that feeds into a digital sine wave form for my output ( low end of power is fine.) I need the sine wave chips to do the build on a +/-110 V wave then, but the ampere I need is ultra tiny by current standards. The total power of this concept is about 1 watt. Perhaps a amp limiter off a wall circuit second as my second but probably easier choice. Reading up on some interesting theories, but to test them accurately, I need this base component(s). I will post the results of what I do with the device pas or fail, as I think it will be important to some of the current over unity power system theories bouncing around to have good well documented answers.

NIckel Acetate Creation from Nickel II Oxide for Nickel Plating

Chemistry question here.  I wanted to play around with some nickel plating, and I started to follow a popular recipe that I saw on YouTube.  It started with Nickel II Oxide, placed in a malt vinegar for a week to create a solution of Nickel Acetate that you could then use as a bath to plate things with Nickel.  I purchased 100 grams of 99% grade Nickel II Oxide, and let it sit in 2L of vinegar for a long time.  After 2 weeks there's no hint of the emerald green Nickel Acetate.  So I purchased some glacial Acetic Acid, and added it to a liter of distilled water to make a 50% weight solution of Acetic Acid to make a stronger solution, and still a week later nothing green.  Solution is in a clean glass vessel.  A local chemist at work said it would be slow, but man, this is taking forever.  What am I doing wrong, or what could I do different? I know Ni Acetate can be achieved with pure nickel and electricity in vinegar, but I really want to try to convert the nickel oxide.

Anyone want to Co-Create the future?

Hi all sydney instructables and indestructables - i just love all this stuff and i am sure some of you are just as passionate. i am running a futures festival and currently in open innovation/open production mode - ie., we all get together and just make a really cool festival. Its called Live Futures 2020: A World of Opportunity. We are creating interaction spaces for the public, particularly young people, futurists, scientists, inventors, researchers, designers, artists, performers, architects, engineers,.......to co-create the future. covering things like nanotech, biotech, health, robotics, education, climate, retrofitting cities to be sustainable, etc... only limited by all our imaginations. If you have something cool to share or just like the idea of co-creating the future join us to create the festival and share the loveat last year's festival we had a young guy who made the coolest electronic musical instruments out of junk and old toys and the crowd loved it. I am sure we now have upcoming electronics whizzes in sydney because of him, i hope tim'll be with us this year too. maybe you have something inspirational too...

If you modify another person's creation and publish it, should you give partial credit to the original maker? Answered

I decided to create a pistol that was different than, but somewhat similar to the el diablo assault pistol. It was smaller & had a different reloading mechanism. Should I give partial credit to whoever originally made the el diablo pistol?

Play a Collaboration Game?

Oh my... Coffee beans!.Let's try this again! ..Challenge: Oh my! I lost my precious special coffee beans! I need to travel around the world searching for them. Will you help me stay awake for that? I will need loooots of coffee for my mission ;)Design a new coffee filter! Collaborate and innovate together - find a new way to filter coffee. Do not use anything expensive and try not to create too much waste ;) Let's go!... How does this game work: 1) First collect ideas for a coffee filter here under this thread until Monday, March 04th midnight PST - write down what you think would work, freely. (Add in to the already collected ideas - challenge yourself!)2) Look at and discuss others' ideas here, while they are being collected.3) Select one idea that you like, and form teams - prototype together, form an Instructable, make it Collaborative. Or alternatively, just add in your existing Instructable and make it Collaborative. Innovate together! A very rough prototype that shows the principle is sufficient. The time limit for this step is to be announced - not more than several days. 4) Collect the 'ibles here under this thread (or I could make a collection of 'ibles if possible) 5) Let's vote and see which new coffee filter is the best! Try to win the most votes and be on the 'podium'!...I will always be around here - you could ask me anything and also give feedback :).Disclaimer: This is part of a research for my PhD at Istanbul Technical University, department of Industrial Design. The research is strictly non-commercial, only for academic purposes and not financed in any way. The only objective of this game is to encourage collaboration and innovation in communities, in a playful and fun way. Your ideas and identity will not be used or revealed, and your privacy will be protected. Thank you. e-mail: meric.taylan@gmail.com.

Are bionicles classified as lego? Answered

I was thinking about entering the lego contest recently put up, yet what I had in mind was a creation made with bionicles. No entries have ever used bionicles before and I didn't want to enter mine just in case it was a "strictly lego blocks" kinda thing.  What do you guys think?

A late newsflash - Creationism being taught legally.

This just turned up in my email:***www.NewScientist.com - NEWSFLASH*** On the 28 June, The Science Education Act was passed as law in the State of Louisiana. This piece of legislature now allows teachers in this US state to present non-scientific alternatives to evolution, global warming and cloning – including ideas related to intelligent design. Opponents fear that Louisiana teachers are now free to present evolution and other targeted topics as matters of debate rather than broadly accepted science, and could have national implications.
