Just to let you guys know (you guys being members of the group PWMMOP) I am working on another drawing instructable that I'm hoping to publish soon. So their will be more instructables in the group soon. Hopefully, new ones will start coming as new members are added also. I'm hoping to make more drawing instructables after I finish the one I'm working on but I need ideas. So...if you have any ideas please let me know!!!

I came up with an idea! There should be a place on the site called the "drawing board" in which you could sketch out ideas using your mouse and save them as a JPG. You could incorporate this into drawing plans and designs for your instructable! It could be a cool feature for everyone, but for pro membership you could have extra things (e.g. rainbow colors, a ruler, paint brush mode). I think this would be a cool addition to the website.

Artist Jim Denevan makes sand drawings--but on a much bigger scale than your average beachcomber. This one is three miles across, a project that required a mind-boggling 100 miles of walking to complete. After one week, though, a rainstorm made the drawing disappear completely.Link via GeekdadIf you like this, another artist who works in nature is Andy Goldsworthy. Some of his pieces do not last more than a few hours, such as this ice sculpture from :30 to :55 that melted as soon as the sun rose.

I have only been drawing for a few months and so far I think drawing goes hand in hand with my other 2 loves which is poetry and music. If you want to check out what I have so far and how much I have improved, you can browse through my profile page on drawinghub.com/user/CocoPebble

I have volunteered to make 3 quilts for my son's school auction. I will have 65 children drawing on a muslin square to be incorporated into the quilts. I have used paint before but did not have as many children (not to mention the mess!) Each child has their own supply of colored pencils. I've read so much on the Internet it's overwhelming and I don't have time to try each option. Has anyone used colored pencils (or #2 pencils) to draw on muslin? What is the best way to accomplish this without a lot of time/frustration? Thank you:)

I just wanted to submit a link to this awesome guide I found for drawing anthro's. It's really great and it's also long and detailed (I printed it and it took 102 pages). In the process of teaching you how to draw anthro's it also has great drawing guides and tips for drawing anything - including humans and animals. So, for anyone interested - here's the link: http://hippie.nu/~unicorn/tut/xhtml/

I designed a portable easel out of two pieces of luan (1/8" to 1/4" plywood). I originally intended to sell them, but decided I didn't really enjoy making them in production levels. The time vs. cost factor didn't really pan out. Either way, this is a design that might make an artist loved one happy. It is fairly quick and easy and has a bit of style to it, I think. I added some molding at the bottom to act as a sort of pencil or brush holder. Just some metal rings to hold the two pieces of wood together and a SWEEEEET woodburning on the front with my name--feel free to put someone else's name on yours! What you don't see in the photos is a leather strap with a small dowel at the end that fits into two notches--one for holding the two sides of the wood from splaying apart when it's in easel mode, and another for when you want to keep it closed for carrying it.

Paul Alexander Thornton shows off his skills with this lovely video of the creation of a skull drawing. He only used black and red ballpoint pens and the drawing was done over the course of two days. Paul Alexander Thornton via Wooster Collective

To all my followers and viewers, what would you like me to teach you how to draw? I will look at the discussions and find out what has the most! Note: I am talented with art, but I have a really hard time drawing people. I would also hope some of you would say Transformers, just might be a challenged accepted.

Is there any cool software that allows you to literally draw the waveform for music (specifically a longer tone ex: >10 secs) To add some clarity -I want to draw sort of a the "rough" waveform, and have it filled in by a computer synthesizer; I know the extreme complexity of sound. I also have many audio editing programs, and I know of FL Studio and all of that. I want to have a sound that if looking at the waveform, you see the shape drawn. I don't want to draw all of the individual peaks and valleys. Looping an individual drawn minuscule waveform is simple with a wavetable synthesizer application. I'm saying that if i draw something like "^", the computer will fill that in with that synthesizer's pattern without the "steps" (_-_) that are created with instruments.

I want a picture of a man in white kneeling and a man in a black suit with a sword putting the sword on the kneeling man's head. I would prefer this to be in a manga kinda style, but any style will be ok. It doesn't matter how long it takes, but sooner is better.

I have some parts that i need to cut from aluminum. Unfortunately I don't have access to any CNC machine, so I'm thinking of cutting them myself by hand... Is there an easy way that I can get my drawings on the aluminum? Perhaps printing on photo paper (using my ink printer) and an iron? Plan B is to use some sort of glue and glue the drawings on the sheet... Any suggestions are welcome!

I want to reply to an instuctable but need to include a simple drawing, either .bmp or .png format. I've tried using the "add images" button, dragged the picture over but it didn't appear with the post so I had to delete the post. Are these picture formats compatible or is there something else I need to do?

If I am charging a super capacitor with buck converter, that is a 1 amp, 1-18 volt output, and the capacitor is rated for 2.5 volts, how do I stop the buck converter from feeding it more than 2.5 volts? When I attach the capacitor to my digital power supply, it starts charging, and the voltage slowly increase to be more than 2.5 volts, at which point I turn it off. I was wondering will it draw more than 2.5 volts from my buck converter? If so how do I stop it?

My brother loves drawing and he has a friend who has something called a bamboo pad. It doesn't have a screen which is why I found it questionable. So we thought we might look for a touch screen he could use. We had very little luck finding one that seemed like it fit the purpose. Even those bamboo peoples' didn't look like they would do anything other than lines. So we have a question. Is it actually fairly easy to use a bamboo pad, and if not, what touch-screen could he use.

Hey everyone. I really like the instructable robot and like drawing different pictures of it. One has him giving a speech were the president should be. Anyways my idea was that we could have a contest where people draw pictures of the instructables robot. I really want to know what others think about it. Please reply. UPDATE: Hey everyone. Another instructables member, ChrysN, and I are hosting a contest. WE are almost ready. The prizes are lots of patches, and free pro membersip (1 year I believe). So please spread the word. P.S if we dont get a lot of entries within the allowed time period we will extend the end date (so tell EVERYONE)

Via Notcot, and because I've been looking out for this sort of thing recently (Roger-X is deciding between design-related university courses), I came across a Kickstarter project called I Draw Cars. It's a pair of guys, design graduates, who have put together an automotive design resource in a moleskine format - industry references, event data, and templates over which you can sketch your own ideas to form part of your portfolio. It looks good. Certainly the concept is sound. I wonder if others would think so? --------------------------------------------------------- On a related subject, whilst visiting Wales, we landed in a design exhibit at the National Waterfront Museum in Swansea. Projects were on display from students of the School of Industrial Design in Swansea. I could go through them, but they were all fascinating - everything from a pop-up cup-carrier to a collapsible zimmer frame and a hydroplaning sports car. Instead, I'll list our highlights, in no particular order: An interesting take on wheeled luggage. A "hyper amphibian". A Dyson-branded scooter. School bookshelves. A cool take on Landrover. Hydroplaning yacht. A hotrod. There were others, but they did not display their websites, or have a small pile of business cards for folk to take. That's their loss, since part of their course covers "self promotion"...

I’m working on a project for my dad for his 70th birthday that consists of building a puzzle box. The box takes 6 separate moves to open the compartment. I had a company laser cut all the pieces as everything has to fit together like Lego. There is one key to the box and 40 keyholes on the outside, 95 hidden keyholes for a total of 135. Problem is, when the pieces were laser cut, the keyholes ended up being too small. I need to adjust the keyholes and I don’t have access to a CADD program ( I had my dad draft up the original document without him knowing what if was going to be used for). If anyone can help with this it would be greatly appreciated. I will probably make an Instructable of the box once it is complete, after my Dad has figured it out. Cheers.

You fasten it at the middle, put a pen in one end and trace with the other. The pen the draws a larger or smaller copy of your tracings depending on which end you put the pen in. What is it called?
